Amarillo summer school students heated up their scores with ODYSSEYWARE to achieve a dramatic collective increase in student pass rates of nearly 100 percent! Even with more rigorous curriculum than their former eLearning provider, Amarillo had an incredible 91 percent of summer school student pass their courses in 2009!

National examination results in Singapore are used in three key ways to support student learning: 1) Ensuring close alignment between the curriculum and examinations; 2) Providing school performance data to identify areas for improvement; and 3) Informing student placement into appropriate pathways. Over time, the uses of assessment have expanded from a sole reliance on examinations to incorporating multiple assessment methods to better support each student's learning.
Project EASE is an alternative education program developed by the Philippine Department of Education that allows students to continue their education through self-study modules if they are unable to attend regular classes. The document discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Project EASE for students at Sapang Palay National High School. It finds the key advantages are that it is flexible and allows distance learning, but the main disadvantages are that some students may lack resources or support for self-study and miss out on classroom learning. Overall, the program aims to reduce dropout rates by helping students who cannot regularly attend classes to still progress in their education.
This document provides an overview of the Effective Alternative Secondary Education (EASE) program in the Philippines. EASE was developed by the Department of Education to address the high dropout rates in public secondary schools. It is an alternative learning system for students who cannot regularly attend classes due to justifiable reasons like jobs, family illnesses, or natural disasters. EASE uses self-learning modules that students can complete independently. It aims to help students complete their secondary education while allowing flexibility. The document outlines the requirements to enroll in EASE, its key features like being modularized and student-directed, and the steps schools take to implement the program.

For each goal, the document discusses the rationale and supporting data, instructional strategies and activities, assessments, resources, and interventions for students experiencing difficulty. The strategies are research-based and include modeling, repeated readings, small group instruction, and extended time to practice skills. Progress will be measured through standardized, local, and formative assessments.

Danville High School in Illinois was looking to replace its online curriculum and found Odysseyware met their needs. They required a fully online program for their alternative learning students with elementary courses, core and elective courses, and translation features. Since using Odysseyware in 2008, their graduation rates have increased while dropout rates have decreased. Teachers can customize courses and students can progress at their own pace to recover credits and return to the traditional school. Odysseyware has helped more students graduate and keep dropout rates falling over the past five years.

The Achievement Gap in Online Courses through a Learning Analytics LensJohn Whitmer, Ed.D.
Presentation at San Diego State University on April 12, 2013.
Educational researchers have found that students from under-represented minority families and other disadvantaged demographic backgrounds have lower achievement in online (or hybrid) courses compared to face-to-face course sections (Slate, Manuel, & Brinson Jr, 2002; Xu & Jaggars, 2013). However, these studies assume that "online course" is a homogeneous entity, and that student participation is uniform. The content and activity of the course is an opaque "black box", which leads to conclusions that are speculative at best and quite possibly further marginalize the very populations they intend to advocate for.
The emerging field of Learning Analytics promises to break open this black box understand how students use online course materials and the relationship between this use and student achievement. In this presentation, we will explore the countours of Learning Analytics, look at current applications of analytics, and discuss research applying a Learning Analytics research method to students from at-risk backgrounds. The findings of this research challenge stereotypes of these students as technologically unsophisticated and identify concrete learning activities that can support their success.

2) Over 1,000 low-performing students received Learning Force, which includes Reading Force and Math Force modules. These students showed significant gains on standardized tests after one year.
3) Specifically, students in the Math Force program increased their median growth by 16 points compared to non-participants whose scores declined by 8 points. The program was then expanded to more districts due to this success.

Face To Face and Blended Learning as Strategy in Teaching MathematicsAJHSSR Journal
This study examined the effectiveness of face-to-face and blended learning strategies in teaching mathematics to 2nd grade students. Students were divided into a control group that received face-to-face instruction only, and an experimental group that received a blended approach. Both groups performed poorly on a pre-test of mathematics topics. While some individual topic scores differed between the groups, there were no significant overall differences in pre-test performance between the control and experimental groups. After instruction, both groups improved but the control group performed slightly better than the experimental group on the post-test. The study concluded that face-to-face instruction was more effective than blended learning for improving 2nd grade mathematics performance.

A short introduction to our 'early warning system' and its roll out and impact in the Faculty of Science.
This document discusses a study that examined the effects of blended learning models on students' academic achievement and retention in science education. The study used a quasi-experimental design with 120 undergraduate students across six groups. Students in the experimental groups received eight weeks of science instruction using one of six blended learning models: supplemental model, replacement model, emporium model, fully online model, buffet model, or linked workshop model. Students completed pre-tests, post-test I, and post-test II to measure achievement and retention. Statistical analysis found significant differences in mean achievement and retention scores between pre- and post-testing, indicating blended learning models improved students' performance and knowledge retention in science.
Students, teachers, principals, and administrators all benefit from eValuate, EdisonLearning's online formative assessment system. In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

Independent School District upgraded their
curriculum, choosing to implement ODYSSEYWARE’s
technology-based learning environment for
use in their summer school program. Those
administrators saw dramatic results.
Despite enrollment in some of the most rigorous
math, sciences, and social studies courses ever
offered by AISD, an incredible 91 percent of
summer school students passed their courses.
In fact, science and social studies students
experienced unprecedented success, collectively
achieving pass rates at or near 100 percent.
So how were these Texas students able to
achieve such success? The simple answer is
ODYSSEYWARE. The features of this innovative
online curriculum are designed to be delivered to
