This document discusses several alternative energy sources including bio-fuel energy from plants and animal remains, solar energy from the sun collected via panels and towers, hydroelectric energy from moving water which has benefits but can damage habitats when dams are built, geothermal energy from inside the earth used for heating, and wind energy from windmills which is unreliable if wind speed is insufficient but can generate electricity when winds are strong. It concludes by encouraging the use of alternative resources to reduce pollution and protect natural habitats.

2. Bio-fuel Energy Bio-fuel energy is energy from plants and animal remains. When you burn wood you are using bio-fuel energy.

4. Solar Energy Solar energy is energy from the sun. The sun is the most used alternative resource in the world.

6. Hydroelectric Energy Hydroelectric energy is energy from moving water. Today only 7% of the United States uses hydroelectricity. Hydroelectric plants do not produce pollution.

7. Hydroelectric Energy continued Although there are benefits there are also drawbacks. When hydroelectric power plants are produced you have to build dams , and when dams are built they cause flooding to farmland which ruins animal habitats and the farmland.

8. Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is energy from inside the earth itself. More recently people have started using geothermal energy to heat their homes.

9. Geothermal Energy continued Geothermal energy is used in hot tubs and spas. Geothermal energy has a chance to decrease global warming.

10. Wind Energy. Wind energy is energy made from the wind. The wind is a wonderful resource but it is undependable. If the wind isn’t blowing hard enough the windmills and other things will not spin hard enough therefore it will not be able to produce enough electricity.

11. Wind Energy continued One major wind source is windmills. Windmills spin fast in the wind producing electricity.

12. Going Green We are polluting our mother nature. We are also ruining plants and animals natural habitat. Go green by using these many Alternative resources and many more things , and save plants, animals, and of course mother earth!
