These presentations explore alternative benefits of Agile methods beyond well-known benefits like managing changing priorities, faster time to market, and higher quality. Agile frameworks like Scrum are considered. Turnover and motivation are discussed as Turkish IT professional statistics show most have less than 10 years experience and change jobs every 1-2 years, costing companies significantly. Reasons for job changes include lack of satisfaction, pay, growth and fun. Agile solutions that incorporate autonomy, mastery and purpose are proposed to improve motivation and performance through self-organization.
These presentation series are subjected to explore the alternative yields of Agile methods besides the well known ones; Managing Changing Priorities, better Time to Market, Higher Quality...

Humans Are The Weakest Link – How DLP Can HelpValery Boronin
SAS 2012 Official Video is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr8lmIhc0pk
Abstracts: All companies are invested in security, but far from all came to realize: employees’ awareness and education are the key factors to improve information protection and prevent data leaks. You can install most powerful DLP, encryption and other security tools, hire a lot of security officers and consulters to tune your business processes, eventually waste a lot of money and resources at security issues, but if end-users don’t understand threats, don’t know rules – they cannot follow internal policies and regulations, cannot correctly use appropriate tools. It’s all for nothing. Efficient information security strategy is to create a culture of awareness and enforcement – culture where users understand the consequences.
This session is about 3 main things:
1) What is user awareness in information security?
2) Why user awareness is required?
3) How to raise user awareness and what are key factors.
Practical recommendations for security user awareness program adopters and practitioners will be given. Role of the DLP in raising user awareness will be highlighted.

Presented at the IBM Australia / New Zealand Storage / x / SmartCloud Symposium on Tuesday Nov 13, 2012 in Auckland, New Zealand. Entertaining, fast-paced business and IT-oriented update tutorial on 2012 Internet Scale, Big Data - what it is, where it's going. You'll come away with answers to these questions: "What will happen with Big Data and Internet Scale in 2012 and beyond?" "What do I need to know about mobile technology, consumerization of IT, high performance analytics, and data center design?"
"What are innovative IT customers deploying today to provide competitive advantage?" "What does this mean for my IT infrastructure and my IT staff job skills?" Immediately useful, you'll come away with an up to date November 2012 Big Picture about modern IT technologies, workloads, innovation, and the job skills that will be demanded in 2013 and beyond. I provide this for all of our general benefit in the IT industry - we all need to and must be able to work together to successfully address the economic and sustainability challenges that all of our futures share. My only request is simply that you give me full credit as the authors of this research material.. The opinions expressed are those of myself - industry players and organizations mentioned are to illustrate the concepts described in this research. No express endorsement is intended or implied.
Apps, Timeline and Facepile: Making Sense of Facebook as a Non-Developerlinds313
Facebook is the biggest player in social media; it’s where virtually every brand needs to be. Yet, how to get involved can be a bit confusing when the platform seems to change every few months.
The latest group of changes, which included Timeline and Brand Pages updates, is one of their most significant updates. This session will give a “quick and dirty” rundown of the latest changes (those in the last calendar year) and why they matter to brands.

Our client helps advertisers target publishers/networks and improve ad results by analyzing millions of web pages every day. They have been able to cut monthly costs by more than 50%, improve response time by 4x, and quickly add new features by switching from a traditional DB-centric approach to one based on Hadoop & Solr. This analysis is handled by a complex Hadoop-based workflow, where the end result is a set of unique, highly optimized Solr indexes. The data processing platform provided by Hadoop also enables scalable machine learning using Mahout. This presentation covers some of the unique challenges in switching the web site from relying on slow, expensive real-time analytics using database queries to fast, affordable batch analytics and search using Hadoop and Solr.
We usually think of agility for software development — agility allows a small team to produce valuable software.
However, this is not the only place for agility. In this talk Dan discusses the «layering» of agility in a software- focused organization.
This layering starts at the bottom, with Agile Software Development (the writing of quality code), and ends at the top, with Agile Portfolio Management (the management of Projects, Programs, and Products for the good of the Organization).
In this (non-technical, yet entertaining) talk Dan develops a big picture showing how all the pieces fit together in a logical model.
Agile transformation is no more that much challenging with our unique way of leading agility. In order to enhance agility and adopt an Agile culture, it is crucial to lead the change activities in multiple levels; daily processes of teams, organizations structure and its operating model, demand handling. Together with well established governance teams and a sharply focused roadmap, benefits will rise sooner.

Agile Transformation at scale is challenging that requires deep understanding and expertise of agility, discipline and hunger to change. In order to guide you for success in your transformation efforts, we created the Agile Transformation Governance Model. The governance model focuses on 5 key areas together with its 19 sub areas and creates high level of visibility for your transformation efforts.

This guide summaries a successful Agile transformation in Telco with a related case study.
Do not take the described steps of this guide as the only way to be successful, there can be many other alternatives for sure. However, this guide explains a way thats experienced to be successful in many companies and under different circumstances.
