Ø High-level solution description:
• The SweetSpot Solution improves management of diabetes by helping care
professionals to easily download data from patient blood glucose meters (BGMs)
and generate reports based on collected information
• Patient reports can be printed, downloaded, or even stored to the patient’s record
in support of effective diabetes treatment
Ø Healthcare/Business problems addressed:
• In-clinic downloads and analysis of BGM data is inefficient
• Multiple PC-only applications must be maintained to connect with different BGMs
• Each application generates non-standard, non-portable reports
• Device settings (date/time) are often incorrect and can lead to treatment errors

How the SweetSpot App works with Allscripts PRO:
1. Patient “checks-in”
2. Connect patient BGM device to EHR upload station (via USB)
3. In Allscripts PRO à
• Open patient chart and either select or create an Open Encounter
• Select ‘Diabetes Device Upload’ from the ‘Menu’ drop-down
• SweetSpot opens in the default browser, ready to upload patient data
4. Within the SweetSpot web app à
• Confirm patient identity, select BGM type, and click ‘Fetch’
• BGM info is sent to SweetSpot to generate a patient report
• Click ‘View’ to open the patient report from the SweetSpot webpage
5. Report is saved to patient record in Allscripts PRO as a chart attachment
