The, Social, And Social Justice Warrior
Amidst the seas of stereotypes, it can be difficult to sort out what society upholds as rude, polite, or
appropriate. Certain groups staunchly defend what they consider politically correct, generally
disregarding being inconsiderate themselves. I find the assertiveness of such people detrimental to
their cause as well as a nuisance to the very people they try to defend, as not everyone with a
minority disadvantage will agree with an SJW s (or social justice warrior ) approach. Various
regional, cultural, and dialectal differences across communities convolute the circumstances even
further. For these reasons, I often ignore the ramblings of feminists and gender identity activists
when their messages of overgeneralized stereotype breaking become hateful and target another
group. SJWs troll the Internet and do not successfully sustain an environment without stereotypes.
As I stated before, not every socially disadvantaged person will agree with an SJW s agenda, and
whether the SJW experiences the same disadvantage or not, he or she cannot speak on the behalf
of that entire community. This is why I say their efforts to break stereotypes instead serve to
overgeneralize such populations: I want all non binary people to be called such and such a name
because this is what my community calls them and is also what they all want to be called. While
participating in an online gaming community, I joined an LGBT+ chat where a few of these so
called SJWs attended. Despite my

This notion is the core of James MacGregor Burns classic definition of leadership as leaders
inducing followers to act for certain goals that represent the values and the motivations the wants
and needs, the aspirations and expectations of both leaders and followers. Successful leadership
inspires the members of the organization to embrace shared values and to move together toward
shared objectives.4 Rowing a boat is sometimes offered as the metaphor: if several individuals try
to row a boat while out of sync and with each attempting to steer in a different direction, much
energy will be expended with little progress made. A successful leader (in the metaphor, the
coxswain), however, inspires the rowers to stroke in sync in support of a common direction, which
will cause the boat to go farther and faster toward the desired destination.

The Fly By Katherine Mansfield
The story The Fly, n by Katherine Mansfield in 1922, paints the picture of an old man who
referred to as the boss, who is grieving from some sort of tragic event that happened to him.
Continuing to read through the story, the narrator goes on to inform the reader that the boss son
was killed in World War I, and that the boss is still reeling from the death of his son. From a little
hinted symbolism we can connect that the fly itself represents the grief that the boss is going
through, while the inkwell and life are two of the same, and that the ink blots are the boss
attempts at trying to fight the grief that has overcome his life due to the tragic event that
transpired. When the narrator first talks about the fly, it is at the moment that the boss is
looking at the photograph of his son and talking about how he passed away six years earlier. The
fly is said to have fallen into his broad ink pot, and was trying feebly but desperately to clamber
out again. The fly is seen as trying to get out of the pot. Very feebly, the boss helps the fly out of
the pot with his pen. The fly in this story comes to represent the boss that the grief is going
through because no matter how hard the fly tries to get out of the pot by itself, it could not
without a little bit of help. Unlike Woodifield, who got over the death of his son, unlike Macey,
who was not close to the son, the boss could not get over the death of his son. In addition, we are
told that the boss has been

The Relationship Between Hospitality And Honor In Henry...
Part One: In Shakespeare s Henry IV, the relationship between hospitality and honor varies
depending on the person. Hotspur found no connection between the two. When Hotspur was
asked about his reasoning for not following the orders of King Henry to let the prisoners go,
Hotspur responded, ...for he made me mad, To see him shine so brisk, and smell so sweet, And
talk so like a waiting gentlewoman (Shakespeare 1.3. 53 55). The kind and gentle greeting of the
messenger disgusted Hotspur. He found no honorability in the hospitality of another individual.
In the eyes of Hotspur, honor was obtained through battle and strong acts for the kingdom.
Therefore, honor is a beneficiary of a lack of hospitality. In Shakespeare s The Tempest, honor
and hospitality are internalized within Miranda. While Prospero greets the incoming sailors
with storms and difficult challenges with hopes of returning to his kingdom, Miranda comes
into the scenes to ask Prospero to bestow mercy on them or to greet the individuals kindly. The
honor she feels in relation to hospitality occurs when Miranda talks to Prospero after she sees the
ship stuck in Prospero s storm. Miranda says, O, I have suffered with those that I saw suffer! A
brave vessel, who had no doubt, some noble creature in her, dashed all to pieces. O, the cry did
knock against my very heart (Shakespeare 1.2. 5 9). Although she had not met the people of the
ship, Miranda s high regard for hospitality caused her to feel compassion and

Story From Bear Country
1: Story from Bear Country (198 200) and The Eagle Watchers Society (14 20) In Story from
Bear Country, the story is one of the Laguna people s traditional myth stories that explains how
someone my get abducted by bears to venture into their world. The author uses specific details
related to the seductive pleasure and sensation that the bears use to lure people to their side.
Further through the story it goes on to explain that once you are strung, there is no going back,
not even to your family. This leads to a bigger picture of how close the Laguna people can
connect to nature, so much that they may never want to go back. In The Eagle Watchers Society,
Able reflects on his childhood when he watched eagles and captured them with his group. This
moment is notably important to him because he sees himself as one of the eagles flying around.
He sees a free eagle, roaming with complete freedom, in which is symbolic to his idea of freedom
towards his own life.

Ethics and Morals
By Dominic Rheinberger
Remembering Op 1
The four main ethical frameworks are Proportionalism, Utilitarianism, Situation Ethics and Natural
Law. There many other ethical points of view besides these four, some only slightly different from
one these and some very different from any of these, but most people will be able to roughly fit in
one of these categories.
Remembering Op 3 http://brown.edu/academics/science and technology studies/framework making
ethical decisions This website gives a brief description of what ethics is, but the real purpose of this
website is to describe a whole lot of different ethical frameworks, reading through this gives a very
good idea of the different types of people in the world. Some of the ethical frameworks include:
feminist, Virtue, Divine Command, Duty Based, Egoistic, Common Good and many more!
http://deathpenalty.procon.org/view.answers.php?questionID=001038
This website asks the question Is the death penalty immoral? And gives a PRO/CON answer, with
quotes from multiple people saying if capital punishment is good or bad, this website is good to
use if looking for opinions from many different people on the death penalty.

Kelly Mcgonigal s How To Make Stress Your Friend
1.) Summary: Kelly McGonigal who is a health psychologist gives a thought provoking lecture
called How to Make Stress Your Friend at an official TED conference in June 2013. During the
first part of the presentation, Ms. McGonigal confesses to the crowd that she been teaching about
stress completely wrong, Basically, I ve turned stress into the enemy. But I have changed my mind
about stress... Ms. McGonigal emphasizes the point that people who view stress as not harmful
(not their enemy), were less likely to die to people who view stress as their enemy; therefore, when
people change their mind about stress, they can change their body response to stress to make them
healthier. As the presentation gets further along, Kelly McGonigal states how oxytocin plays a
huge role in controlling stress. This neuro hormone, which is released during stress, motivates you
to seek support, which is the reason why stress makes you social. At the same time, oxytocin acts...

If a large majority of individuals view stress as their enemy, this can severely take a toll on their
health throughout their lifetime, and even cause their life to be shortened prematurely. As the
lecture illustrates, 43 percent of people who believe stress as harmful had an increased risk of
dying. An obstacle or barrier that might hinder this improvement would be human nature, because
it s easy for human to get stressed and be clouded with thoughts to be able to solve the issue of
handling stress. On the other hand, to solve the obstacles the society needs to be educated on how
to make stress their friend. Also, introducing mechanism within their life to reduce stress, and urge

Brideshead Revisited Essay
There is a snake in Eden; corruption in paradise. To what extent do you agree that the Brideshead
estate embodies a corrupted paradise in the novel? June 2010 Within the context of pastoral
literature, change is typically seen as a destructive force, intrinsic with the movement away from a
harmony with the natural world towards modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisitedthe
same pattern appears to be followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles
life in Oxford into corruption and turmoil or the shifting power balance between the social classes,
from the nobility to the lower classes. However, change is not exclusively a negative force in the
novel.

Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly child and
Death s Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that will result. It is as a result
of this night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk driving, and introduces them to the
realities of adult life. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the
newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the
novel. This illustrates clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there
was chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on.
Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility exclusively
privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his portrayal of Hooper.
Charles states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me of Young Britain ; notably Hooper
is not presented as an overly inspiring, promising or likeable character. The use of young has
connotations of the working class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to
hold positions of power and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old
way of life has been left to be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles is presenting
the traditional world as being corrupted with the changing, modernised world.
Catholicism is a main focus

Valentine Target Audience
There has never been a time where product or service marketing is geared to target a specific
segment or niche than today. This is a period in history where the most successful companies are
those that have identified a specific group of people in the marketplace and designed their products
and services to satisfy their particular needs and tastes.
When you don t have the right knowledge about your specific market, you could end up targeting
the wrong market with the wrong product or service in the wrong way! And this equals low
product sales.
So what s a target market?
Basically, it is a specific group of people you have decided to sell your product or service to. A

For example, a strict organic food restaurant can attract customers from diverse age groups and not

Therefore psychographic segmentation focuses on the following: Lifestyle, social class, personality,
interests and values of the consumers.

As its name suggests, behavioral segmentation targets how people behave. This however, emanates

Product benefits
Loyalty to a product brand.

A Renaissance Man Suffering During A Medieval Society Essay
A Renaissance man suffering in a Medieval society During the late middle ages, starting in Italy, a
cultural movement known as the Renaissance spread through Europe. The Renaissance was a
period of rebirth that developed in the forms of art, literature, and education. To understand the
natural world, people of the Renaissancestudied the ancient classical works of the Greeks and
Romans as explanations of humanabilities. The Renaissance was characterized by the renewed
interest in humanist philosophy, or self belief, human worth, and individual dignity. Humanist
philosophy was grounded in the idea that the capabilities of human beings should be studied,
developed, and understood to the furthest extent possible.
In the early 17th century, one of the most famous pieces of literature was written during the
Renaissance, William Shakespeare s play Hamlet. The play centers upon Hamlet, who is, and is
characterized as a misplaced Renaissance man, who lives in the medieval kingdom of Denmark and
struggles to understand the purpose and meaning of man while others around him carry out their
actions in traditional medieval mannerism. By using allusions and long metaphors, along with
Hamlet s conflict to correct injustice by embracing a humanist approach as opposed to the medieval
chivalry manner, Shakespeare conveys many Renaissance ideas through Hamlet s internal struggle
to understand what it means to be human.
Hamlet embodies the principles and ideals of Renaissance humanism

Essay On Gun Violence In Schools
A lot of people believe that the best alternative would be to have a hired security guard or law
enforcement guarding the school at all times. This idea is better because it allows the teachers to
be at peace by not having to worry about if they would be ending a life. If I m going to have a gun
on the premises I d rather have a resource officer who has been trained, Martin said. If I m going to
defend myself in the community, I m not firing around potentially 1,000 kids. By hiring securitythe
school would be protected from any intruders. Security would be trained to shoot with precision at
any gunman. The security could also help protect against violence within the school. If a fight

Essay about Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles’ Play Oedipus
Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles Play Oedipus
The concept of sight is one of the major motifs throughout Sophocles play Oedipus the King. The
play revolves primarily around series of events caused by many people s insight or lack there of.
Oedipus does not see that he is caught up in a web of cruel destiny that he cannot escape. The gods
demonstrate foresight and insight into the play. In addition to this, Tiresias has physical blindness
but also has prophetic insight. Finally, both Oedipus and Jocasta portray types of mental blindness
and shortsightedness. These are all examples of different uses of sight in the play Oedipus the King.
Oedipus is a hero, but sometimes he can not see the reality of this. He goes into states where he ...

Another ironic concept of sight in the play is found through Tiresias, the blind prophet. This is
an oxymoron in itself. Tiresias is a wise old man who exhibits supernatural powers to interpret
the past and predict the future. The fact that Tiresias is blind makes his visionary powers appear
even more mysterious. This leads Oedipus to doubt Tiresias ability to see the truth. Had
Oedipus not had so much pride, he would have understood the truth of Tiresias. Tiresias uses
puzzling predictions to make men ponder about themselves. He does this to Oedipus by asking
him to consider himself the murderer of Laios. He describes the murderer of Laios as blind
instead of seeing, beggar instead of rich, he will make his way to foreign soil, feeling his way
with a stick (31). This is great foresight on behalf of Tiresias. All of these things will later come
true when Oedipus falls from power and blinds himself. It is Tiresias who is the first person to
tell Oedipus that he has killed his own father. He tells Oedipus You do not see the evil in which
you live (25). It takes a blind prophet to see that it is Oedipus who has murdered Laius. Even so,
Oedipus states You are blind, your ears and mind as well as eyes (25). Therefore, when Oedipus
insults Tiresias and accuses him of being a false prophet, he is also attacking the gods. This
shortsighted decision made by Oedipus can cause no good. If what Tiresias has said is true, then
Oedipus is quickly sealing his own

This study tests the differences between bicarbonate calcic mineral water (Acqua Lete) and a
minimally mineralized water. The differences assessed were based off of acid base balance,
total body water, muscle thickness and urinary markers of hydration including specific urine

for both groups included no training and following a diet without supplementation of minerals.
Both groups underwent two experimental trials. Cycling without hydration was first performed

which consisted of group A drinking 1.5 L per day of a very low mineral content water while
group B had 1.5 L per day of Acqua Lete water. Physical examinations were performed at rest

The Dilemmas Of Public Education And Public School...
The greatly discussed dilemma of having a child be taught in a public school setting versus a
homeschool setting has been evaluated by parents since the idea was first introduced in the 1970 s.
Public schooling had been the standard method of teaching since it is a requirement for states to
provide public, free educationfor children in grades K 12. However, the backlash against the system
began when two educational theorists and supporters of schoolreform, John Holt and Raymond
Moore, started to question both the techniques and the products of public schools. Some parents
went on to support the ideas of them and began to teach their children in the environment of their
own homes for several different reasons. Some included moral or religious reasons, a desire for
high educational achievement, dissatisfaction with public schools instructional program, or
concerns about drugs and peer pressure in a public school environment. Child development
specialists believe that homeschooled children are isolated from the outside world, therefore
making them socially handicapped. If being exposed to this type of education on an elementary
school level, the child can suffer from the lack of fundamental development of effective social
skills needed for a lifetime ahead of them.
It is believed that by restricting children from the real world and its many problems through home
schooling, they may never get the chance to learn both life lessons and social interaction skills on
their own

In regards to chapter 16, the process of organizational socialization starts at the selection process.
Best Buy has stymied organizational culture shift by allowing the transition to be at the discretion
of the department managers.
Managers have displayed a dominant resistant to change. Therefore, how does leadership mold
attitudes of managers to accommodate/facilitate a holistic cultural change?

The Evils Of The FED And The Federal Reserve
Ever since the Bretton Woods agreement in 1944, the U.S dollar became the world s currency.
Bretton Woods agreement was basically an agreement on which every country currency would
be back up by the dollar, due to the fact that after WWII United States was the only one with the
biggest gold reserve in the world. Although it was proposed as a good idea it had its flaws for one
even though it help the U.S and other countries there was simply not enough gold to continue
backing up the dollar value. Which lead to President Richard Nixon to abolish the gold standard
economy. His abolish of a gold standard economy lead to a new proposal on which the dollar would

Which goes back on how the dollar is back up. Another deal that countries see is that they can
also exchange the Yuan which they have, to the federal banks of China into gold since their
money is control in a gold standard economy. Although the Yuan is seen as the new alternative
there is one more currency lurking and becoming to be seen as a new way to exchange money,
and that s Bitcoin. Bitcoin is an indented source where individuals create accounts to buy accents
in order to have credit. That credit is later use for other individuals to purchase goods anywhere
in the world without paying fees to any government bank in order to exchange their currency.
But is still works about the same way that the Federal Reserve works since it s money that it s
not back up by any materialize product as gold and silver and instead just faith that the investors
will continue to support it. But the Federal Reserve and Bitcoin still are different since Bitcoin is
not support by any government nor has any centralize bank running it. This causes mayor impact
to the U.S, since companies and countries might no longer have to go and exchange their currency
in dollars and may do it straight forward from one currency to another. In time, the dollar would
lose value and the U.S economy may change drastically. So, should United States tried to go back
in a gold standard economy? Yes and no, although there are new forms of currency going around

The Difference between Democratic Government and Oligarchy...
Democratic Government VS Oligarchy Government The government is merely a servant merely
a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong,
and decide who is a patriot and who isn t. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them. Mark
Twain Democracy and Oligarcy as forms of government have been in existence for a long period of
time, both terms first appeared in ancient Greek political and philosophical thought. Both forms of
government exist in the modern world, but which form of government is more better, there is a

In a democracy, if people are unhappy, they can raise their voices through various platforms such
as the media. However, in Oligarchy government, common people might not be granted
fundamental rights which are essential for any person to live a good life. If you compare
Oligarchy vs Democracy on how stable a government these can provide, then certainly
dictatorship wins hands down. Oligarchy government often resort to violent methods to curb
any kind of public uprisings to protect its power and ruling status in the country. Robert Michels
believed that any political system eventually evolves into an oligarchy. He called this the iron
law of oligarchy. According to this school of thought, modern democracies should be considered
as oligarchies. Unfortunately, Oligarchy Governments really hide under the name of
democratic. As an example, a number of former Soviet states, including Ukraine. Officially, we
live in a democratic state, but we all know who is at the helm of state power. Ukraine is called a
democratic state, which governed by a few oligarchic clans. Every form of government is bound
to have some shortfalls. Different people have different views about the various political
systems. But in today s world, democracy is considered to be the best form of government, reason
being that people are treated equally and have full rights to live a life of their liking. Unlike a

My Little Pony Art Of World War II
This soldier s statements carry merit as there were a number of World War 2 military planes

fandom there exists a large a cache of military inspired My Little Pony art located on websites like

as a Brony by expressing the need for people to have a need to get away from the stresses of life.
They feel as though there is a distinction between the service they provide and activities they

Even if the main interest in MLP was escapism, all media is essentially escapism, whether it s the

Part of what this soldier sees in Schlicter s argument is the interpretation of the off duty hours

Civilian Criminal Process
A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CIVILIAN AND MILITARY CRIMINAL PROCEDURES
Introduction
When a crime has been committed, the case proceeds through the criminal justice system from
investigation and arrest through probation and parole. However, the process can vary wildly
between a civilian offender being tried at the local, state, or federal level and a military offender
being tried in a military court martial.
The Civilian Criminal Process
Pre Trial Procedure The civilian process begins with the investigation. Once an investigation is
cleared, warrants are issued and the police make an arrest. In some cases, such as when an officer
witnesses the crime taking place, the arrest may proceed the warrant or the case may go straight

hearing, many offenders will be classified and assigned to a specific corrections facility. Which
facility is utilized depends on local procedures, confinement facilities, and treatment programs.

Key Influences In My Life
Instead of focusing on my recent activities, which involve the occumulation of medically related

key influences in my life; particularly those which lead me in the direction of medicineas a career

my development as a human being, and as a future physician.

Analysis Of The Movie The Disneyfication Of Broadway
Introduction A trip to 42nd street circa 1990 was certainly no destination fit for a family. Walls of
graffiti adorn the peeling awnings of storefronts and theatres promise private dances and live nude
women. Porn shops dotted the city block with colorful invitations to sex hotlines and signs
prohibiting entry to anyone under the age of eighteen (Wollman 445). Decades earlier, during the
Prohibition era, speakeasies and brothels lined the city, creating New York s red light district.
Today s Times Square, however, bares no hint of resemblance to its former image of sleaze and
mystery. Neon lights that once illustrated silhouettes of burlesque dancers have since been

The commencement of renovations, then, relied heavily on the support of the city and state of New
York s investment, and because of the potential profit to be made from tourism, the state obliged
(Wollman 1). This investment greatly contributed to The Walt DisneyCompany s decision to lease
the New Amsterdam Theatre. Prior to 1994, the theatre spent decades without use and had fallen
into decay. Professor of Performance Studies and academic, Elizabeth Wollman detailed the deal
between Disney and the city in an article analyzing the interaction between theatre and corporations.
She explained:
Disney agreed to spend approximately $6 million to renovate the huge, ninety five year old New
Amsterdam on 42nd Street, Disney would enjoy exclusive use of the New Amsterdam, which it
now occupies under a long term, forty nine year lease and currently uses to house the musical
version of The Lion King. The city and state agreed to lend Disney an additional $28 million in
low interest loans in return for 2 percent of all ticket receipts from shows staged at the theater.
(Wollman 447)
With its acquisition of the theatre Disney opened Beauty and the Beast, a stage musical based on
the company s popular musical film, and not long after its opening did investors such as Time
Warner and Madame Tussauds hop on the 42nd street bandwagon (Nelson 74). The reopening of the
New Amsterdam Theatre marked a transformation to the New Times Square which, as

Ever since I was a child, I have had strong familial connections with commerce. My grandfather

Continuity Vs Discontinuity Research Paper
Daniell Lyman u0849900 Psyc 3230В01 Continuity v.s. Discontinuity I would state that
discontinuity has more common relations to the view or theory of existentialism. This is the
belief that the existence of an individual person as a free agent determines their own development
by will. People can and will change abruptly with or without relation to their age. The controversy
over continuity and discontinuity is the time span in which people change in their life span. I will
not argue that some individuals do in fact grow over a long steady period of time. However, large
shifts in a person s life can change them overnight as well. Both approaches and views ultimately

He talks about how hope is distilled upon newborns as is wisdom for late adulthood. The twelve
stages each acquire a new skill as the individual develops gradually throughout their life. This

that an individual gradually learns and develops overtime in a relatively similar way as everyone
else is a vague statement to make in a world filled with such diversity. When discussing the effects
of trauma during the life span it is important to understand the meaning of resilience in context.
Young adolescent children may seem vulnerable in comparison to adults due to the development or
lack of foundation around them. I believe a traumatic event can be detrimental to both adolescent
children and late adults. The individual s life looked at in context is the best way to determine
what is seen as maladaptive. The existentialist view in relation to discontinuity is captured in a

Rhetorical Analysis Of ASPCA Advertising
Throughout our lives we have most likely witnessed hundreds of commercials that try to persuade
us to donate money. A great amount of advertisements exist to persuade their audiences to donate to
a specific organization our cause. The ASPCA is an organization that works to rescue animals from
abuse, pass humane laws, and share resources with shelters nationwide. The ASPCA has many
different campaign commercials that all have a singular purpose. The ASPCA announcement

most well known of all of the ASPCA commercials.

The ASPCA announcement uses the rhetorical devices, logos and ethos to convince its audience
to donate. Logos is the appeal to logic, and ethos is the appeal to morals. The commercial states
facts about how thousands of animals are abused every day. It states that a small donation of only
eighteen dollars a month can make a big difference by providing many different forms of aid to the
animals. The ASPCA advertisement translates this to sixty cents a day to show how small the
donation really is. This is somewhat of a logical and ethical appeal. It appeals logically to the
audience because for just a small monetary donation the viewer can help save abused and
neglected animal from their abusers and provide medical care, food, shelter and love. This
shows that the donation can be used in many essential ways to care for the animal, and that their
donation is responsible for giving the animals a second chance. This too is an ethical appeal
because donating will make the viewer feel like a good, virtuous person because they
contributed to an important cause. One the other hand if they don t decide to donate they may a
have a burden on their conscience because not that much money is needed to help make a big
difference. In other words the viewer may feel like an unethical and bad person. The
advertisement goes on to state that if you donate then you will receive a welcome kit that
contains a t shirt, wristband, and a photo of an animal that has been given a second chance
because of you. All of this is a further amplification of the logical reason to donate to the ASPCA.
The advertisement also uses ethos by having the Grammy winning artist Sarah Mclachlan as the
speaker. Sarah seems to speak very truly and caringly about the ASPCA as she pets a dog that s in
her lap. This makes the audience feel like Sarah truly cares about the treatment of animals. As a

Globalization And The Global Economy
For many of the world s population, the growing integration of the global economy has provided the
opportunity for substantial income growth. This is reflected not only in higher incomes, but also in
the improved availability of better quality and increasingly differentiated final products. However,
at the same time, globalization has had its dark side. There has been an increasing tendency towards
growing equalization within and between countries and a stubborn incidence in the absolute levels
of poverty, not just in poor countries. These positive and negative attributes of globalization have
been experienced at a number of different levels the individual, the household, the firm, the town,
the region, the sector and the nation. The distributional pattern emerging in recent decades of
globalization is thus simultaneously heterogeneous and complex. If those who had lost from
globalization had been confined to the non participants, the policy implications would be clear take
every step to be an active participant in global production and trade. However, the challenge is
much more daunting than this, since the losers include many of those who have participated
actively in the process of global integration. Hence, there is a need to manage the mode of insertion
into the global economy, to ensure that incomes are not reduced or further polarized. Many factors
associated with globalization will affect the distribution returns. For example, macro economic
disturbances

A New Perception of Eliza Essay
A New Perception of Eliza
From times to times, back in the old days, women were seen as powerless and non respected
figures in the society where authorities and prestige were dominated by men. Glimpses of gender
inequality during the early 20th century in London were introduced through Pygmalion by George
Bernard Shaw. The story revolves around Henry Higgins, a renowned professor of phonetics, who
makes a bet with his friend, Colonel Pickering, that he can successfully transform Eliza Doolittle

a life of Eliza fetching Higgins s slippers when she can enjoy a much better one.
Further in the book, it s shown that Eliza Doolittle is certainly not someone to be ignored. When
Higgins and Pickering seem to be carried away from their small experiment , Eliza doesn t stand
there and does nothing, she voices her thoughts. Well, here I am ready to pay him not asking

Eliza is a smart lady who refuses to let other stumble over her. Certainly, Eliza won t back down as

Don t get me wrong, it s awesome that as kids we are pushed to work hard and that we are
surrounded by very intelligent people. However, many times it gets to be way too much.
Also, growing up here gives you a relatively naive view on the world. We live in a very rich and
privileged area. We have no idea what the real world is like. I wasn t even going to mention it
because it seemed so normal to me, but the reality is, most people do not have the newest iPhones
and iPads. Most people don t own MacBook pros or have their own Google Glass. It s not normal
for your high school s parking lot to be filled with cars that cost over $30,000.
There is a huge divide between the wealthy and the working class, and the area is extremely
expensive. Our teachers can t even afford to live in the area. Some of them drive over 2 hours
every morning just to get to school. There are also a lot of kids that live in East Palo Alto who
attend Palo Alto High School. Their lives are drastically different from ours. There is a huge
divide between the kids living in East Palo Alto and the kids living in Palo Alto. Although people
are generally accepting, there is definitely this idea of them not being as good as us. If your
parent isn t an engineer, doctor, or lawyer, then people generally look down on you. It may not be
evident in our actions, but it s definitely what the people around here

Comparing Cuckoo And Can T Help Falling In Love
The two songs that I will be analyzing have many differences that I have come across while
analyzing. The first song is an Austrian folk song called Cuckoo . You can tell this is a folk
song from the vivid story telling in the lyrics that lead to a yodel. The second song is an
American pop song called Can t Help Falling in Love which was written by George David Weiss,
Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore and made most famous by Elvis Presley for the album/soundtrack
Blue Hawaii in 1961. The main similarity between these two songs is that they have certain
rhythms that get repeated multiple times. The two songs have different time signatures. Cuckoo
has a compound meter with short and quick notes whereas Can t Help Falling in Love has a simple
meter with more long notes. The folk songhas a narrow melodic range that stays in a single octave
from D4 to D5 and is diatonic. There is no clear climax to this song and has more of a disjunct
motion by having at least one leap in every other measure. The melodic contour of this song is
pretty repetitive for the most part. Each measure is in an arch motion which would make every
phrase more like a wave. The song also does not shy away from repetition. Almost every measure is
either repeated or has a variation of it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no clear climax to the song but it has a conjunct motion throughout it because of the very
few and spread out leaps. There is a fair amount of variation going on in this song but it also has a
lot of repetition. The entire first verses rhythm is variated and every other measure has the same
rhythm within it. After the chorus, the next three measures are all repeated and then the rhythm of
the chorus is used again. Most measures in the song are either ascending or descending. The
overall mood of this song is a happy one because it is diatonic and the repetition even though it has

Artificial Nigger and Judgement Day Analysis...
Artificial Nigger Judgement Day Analysis Regarding Color
After reading this story over five times I certainly think I have an understanding of what this
story is about. Mr. Head is an old racist who believes everything that he says is word. He is
domineering and seems to argue with Nelson whenever he gets the chance. Whether it be about
the place Nelson calls home or the color of skin. Nelson is only ten; it makes you wonder why a
man who is supposedly intelligent seems awfully absurd.
O Connor associates the role of color in regards to race. Through her portrayal of race, apart from
color, she draws a link between the roles people play in society. Not only do these elements of race
refer to color and positions in society, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As they dismount the train Nelson soon becomes aware that his grandfather is in fact lost.
When Nelson criticizes his grandfather for having gotten them lost, Mr. Head replies, If you
want to direct this trip, I ll go on by myself and leave you right here. O`Connor then depicts Mr.
Head as being pleased to see the boy turn white. This is very ironic because Nelson is in fact
white skinned. Following much talk of seeing Nigger after Nigger, the reader is left with the
feeling that Mr. Head is not only happy to have silence Nelson, but further emphasizes the very
color of Nelson s face. This solidifies the character of Mr. Head as one who is so disgusted by
Negros that he attempts to turn even his grandson whiter. As Nelson and Mr. Head continue on
in search of the train station to take them home, they come across a rich neighborhood full of
mansions. After having received directions from a passer by, Mr. Head catches the glimpse of a
plaster figure of a Negro just down the road. One of his eyes was entirely white and he held a
piece of brown watermelon. O Connor has chosen her words very carefully. No eye is completely
white, but in depicting this figure O`Connor wishes to show that in this world African Americans
are forced to see the world in white. Whiteness in this regard is being thrust upon them. Not only
are Negros forced to view the world in White, the

Ford Motor Company Case Analysis Essay
Throughout the late twentieth century, the Ford Motor Company received numerous complaints
regarding incidents involving their vehicles. Consumers of Ford vehicles reported that at least one
of their tires spontaneous blew out while driving at highway speeds; more often than not, these
accidents resulted in the driver losing control and rolling the vehicle, causing injury or death. After
numerous lawsuits, lawyers began to notice a trend. Through multiple clients, they observed the
majority of incidents involved Firestone tires on light Ford trucks, particularly the Ford Explorer.
From the inception of the Ford Motor Company, Firestone Tires had been a primary supplier of
original equipment for Ford vehicles. In the earlier 1990s, the company became the sole supplier
of original equipment for light duty Ford Trucks. The Ford Explorer became the number one
selling sport utility vehicle in the USA, meaning millions of potentially defective Firestone tires
were out on the highways. Outside investigations found numerous issues with the Firestone Tires.
One of the root issues began with the trucks rolling off of the Ford assembly lines. Their tires
would be underinflated to only twenty six psi, rather than thirty psi, as recommended by Firestone.
The tires pressures will naturally decrease over time, thus causing the tires to become dangerously
low on air. As the tires deflate, more rubber makes contact with the road, increasing the amount of
friction between surfaces. As

I, Noah A. King, am about to walk into the famous James D. Thorne Grand Ballroom with my

Things look glorified now but, things weren t always like this. First let me introduce myself, I am
Noah Andy King and I am 16 years old. I have been classified as a very wired kid but, my mother
always told me People just don t get your way of thinking of things in life. I have all way haven t

Five years and three days ago, in a little town call Tollasend were the sky is painted all color and

month left of summer before we had to go back to school. As Jazmine throw her last gutter of the
game she came and sat with the rest of us to join the rest of the conversation. After a long
egotistic talk about who is the best and smartest we get on the topic of what it means to be
African American. This was a very confusing topic for us because we were surround by white
people and we have adopted their culture. An odd silent fell among us for a minute. Then, Grace
spoke hoping that the odd silent well end. Well, being black is like living in a cardboard box, Grace
explained. To this day I don t know what she meant but, being black to me... well I really don t
know what it means to be black. After the we finished our conversation we walked how our

The Letter G In REGARDS Represents Gender Discrimination
The letter G in REGARDS represents gender discrimination. The law says that men and women
in the workplace should be treated equally. Unless the woman is pregnant, or close to giving
birth, or just gave birth, she should be granted some rights that men do not have. For example, if
women models are needed to model a new line for women clothing. The hiring process can be
strictly towards women for the position (Robinson, 2013, p. 29). This situation is called bona fide

such as lifting heavy boxes loading or unloading trucks a womanshould receive the same treatment

Tomato Production Of The Tomato Plant
BIG QUESTION where do tomatoes come from and how can we maximise yield?
Alex Cottam
Tomatoes are edible fruits of Solanum lycopersicum , More commonly known as the tomato plant.
The plant originated in central America. Tomatoes are used in many dishes across the globe but
were first used in mexico. Tomatoes are grown in temperate climates around the world however
more hardy strains have been produced meaning some can survive at lower temperatures however
to maximise yield lower temperatures are not ideal. In cooler areas of the globe they can be grown
in greenhouses. They grow ,depending on the strain, anywhere from one metre tall to 3 metres tall
although bush variates have the maximum yield. Being so tall the plant often cannot support itself
as they have weak stems therefore support is required ie canes, stakes etc.
The tomato plant is a perennial (grows back each year) in its native climate and grown as an
annual (only survives one year then dies from lower temperatures) in temperate climates. In the
greenhouse the plant needs to be kept above 16 degrees celsius and below 32 degrees , otherwise
the enzymes will become denatured. ideally between 22 26 degrees as this will best imitate its
native climate. Temperature is one of the limiting factors of plant growth so is one of the key
factors to achieve a high yield. In order to keep it at these temperatures a greenhouse should be
used or they should be planted in their native climate however a greenhouse is more ideal

Media And Aging Process Analysis
When you re an adolescent, you will go through puberty and grow. The media might show tall
people as clumsy because their naturally slower than short people because of bone structure or a
number of other factors. This is untrue, as some people are genetically predisposed to being tall,
and as such can take advantage of it by participating in activities that favor height, such as
basketball. Some people develop body hair slower than others, and the media might portray that as
something to be ridiculed, but everybody is different and the body works in different ways. Some
people s family history will determine how young or how old their body matures, and understanding
this will be beneficial to the mental healthof an impressionable young adult.
Sometimes the media might show middle aged people as having a mid life crisis or otherwise
not being able to cope with getting older. There are many people that go through this, but there
are also people that are fine with it and eating right and exercising will usually help slow the
aging process. Middle aged adults also are usually mentally tough and aware that they are getting
older but will try and remain youthful. The media takes advantage of this by marketing products
designed to reverse the aging process. Examples of this include anti wrinkle cream or hair dye
which is used to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

will have difficulty. It s not easy growing up, maturing, and getting older, but everyone has to go
through this. Not everyone is the same, what works for someone else may not work for you, but

My Strengths And Weaknesses Of My Leadership Style

course has reemphasized active listening, reactive and reflective thinking, inspirational

the modules that I do not stop and try to process information. I try to innovate and insist on
solutions for a quick fix. This can make me unapproachable for my subordinates because I am

By using logos and factual evidence, Adam B. Summers forms an argument in an attempt to

process by which the two are united involves an impressive accumulation of information about

The tension between satisfying our credulity and satisfying our skepticism, as David Lodge puts
it differently energises each of Fowles s first three novels. Realism can also be seen as an
ancestrally impure and precautious synthesis of history, romance and allegory; and from this
point of view character is the problematising of the relations between its consistent parts that
characterize much contemporary British fiction including Fowles s. The formal agony and
hesitation co exist; with immense formal energy and inventiveness in problematic fictions such
as Doris Lessing s The Golden Notebook, Augus Wilson s No Laughing Matters and differently
in Iris Murdock s The Black Prince as well as Fowles s The French Lieutenant s Woman. These
novels carry the currently inescapable and romance theories of insubordination. They leave the
reader as Lodge has suggested with a paradox about the relations between art and life. The reality
principle is never allowed to lapse entirely indeed, it is often involved to expose the artificiality of
conventional realistic illusion....This kind of novelistic, I am talking about referring a loyalty to
both (reality and fiction) but later the orthodox novelists and confidence on the possibility of
reconciling them. He makes the difficulty of the task, in a sense, his subjects (Bradbury 105).

  • 2. The, Social, And Social Justice Warrior Amidst the seas of stereotypes, it can be difficult to sort out what society upholds as rude, polite, or appropriate. Certain groups staunchly defend what they consider politically correct, generally disregarding being inconsiderate themselves. I find the assertiveness of such people detrimental to their cause as well as a nuisance to the very people they try to defend, as not everyone with a minority disadvantage will agree with an SJW s (or social justice warrior ) approach. Various regional, cultural, and dialectal differences across communities convolute the circumstances even further. For these reasons, I often ignore the ramblings of feminists and gender identity activists when their messages of overgeneralized stereotype breaking become hateful and target another group. SJWs troll the Internet and do not successfully sustain an environment without stereotypes. As I stated before, not every socially disadvantaged person will agree with an SJW s agenda, and whether the SJW experiences the same disadvantage or not, he or she cannot speak on the behalf of that entire community. This is why I say their efforts to break stereotypes instead serve to overgeneralize such populations: I want all non binary people to be called such and such a name because this is what my community calls them and is also what they all want to be called. While participating in an online gaming community, I joined an LGBT+ chat where a few of these so called SJWs attended. Despite my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This notion is the core of James MacGregor Burns classic definition of leadership as leaders inducing followers to act for certain goals that represent the values and the motivations the wants and needs, the aspirations and expectations of both leaders and followers. Successful leadership inspires the members of the organization to embrace shared values and to move together toward shared objectives.4 Rowing a boat is sometimes offered as the metaphor: if several individuals try to row a boat while out of sync and with each attempting to steer in a different direction, much energy will be expended with little progress made. A successful leader (in the metaphor, the coxswain), however, inspires the rowers to stroke in sync in support of a common direction, which will cause the boat to go farther and faster toward the desired destination. 2. The literature on leadership, both academic and self improvement, is now voluminous. A few of the classics in the field include JAMES MAcGREGOR BURNS, LEADERSHIP (1978); JOHN WILLIAM GARDNER, ON LEADERSHIP (1990); PETER F. DRUCKER. • 5. The Fly By Katherine Mansfield The story The Fly, n by Katherine Mansfield in 1922, paints the picture of an old man who referred to as the boss, who is grieving from some sort of tragic event that happened to him. Continuing to read through the story, the narrator goes on to inform the reader that the boss son was killed in World War I, and that the boss is still reeling from the death of his son. From a little hinted symbolism we can connect that the fly itself represents the grief that the boss is going through, while the inkwell and life are two of the same, and that the ink blots are the boss attempts at trying to fight the grief that has overcome his life due to the tragic event that transpired. When the narrator first talks about the fly, it is at the moment that the boss is looking at the photograph of his son and talking about how he passed away six years earlier. The fly is said to have fallen into his broad ink pot, and was trying feebly but desperately to clamber out again. The fly is seen as trying to get out of the pot. Very feebly, the boss helps the fly out of the pot with his pen. The fly in this story comes to represent the boss that the grief is going through because no matter how hard the fly tries to get out of the pot by itself, it could not without a little bit of help. Unlike Woodifield, who got over the death of his son, unlike Macey, who was not close to the son, the boss could not get over the death of his son. In addition, we are told that the boss has been ... • 6. The Relationship Between Hospitality And Honor In Henry... Part One: In Shakespeare s Henry IV, the relationship between hospitality and honor varies depending on the person. Hotspur found no connection between the two. When Hotspur was asked about his reasoning for not following the orders of King Henry to let the prisoners go, Hotspur responded, ...for he made me mad, To see him shine so brisk, and smell so sweet, And talk so like a waiting gentlewoman (Shakespeare 1.3. 53 55). The kind and gentle greeting of the messenger disgusted Hotspur. He found no honorability in the hospitality of another individual. In the eyes of Hotspur, honor was obtained through battle and strong acts for the kingdom. Therefore, honor is a beneficiary of a lack of hospitality. In Shakespeare s The Tempest, honor and hospitality are internalized within Miranda. While Prospero greets the incoming sailors with storms and difficult challenges with hopes of returning to his kingdom, Miranda comes into the scenes to ask Prospero to bestow mercy on them or to greet the individuals kindly. The honor she feels in relation to hospitality occurs when Miranda talks to Prospero after she sees the ship stuck in Prospero s storm. Miranda says, O, I have suffered with those that I saw suffer! A brave vessel, who had no doubt, some noble creature in her, dashed all to pieces. O, the cry did knock against my very heart (Shakespeare 1.2. 5 9). Although she had not met the people of the ship, Miranda s high regard for hospitality caused her to feel compassion and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the first part of the presentation, Ms. McGonigal confesses to the crowd that she been teaching about stress completely wrong, Basically, I ve turned stress into the enemy. But I have changed my mind about stress... Ms. McGonigal emphasizes the point that people who view stress as not harmful (not their enemy), were less likely to die to people who view stress as their enemy; therefore, when people change their mind about stress, they can change their body response to stress to make them healthier. As the presentation gets further along, Kelly McGonigal states how oxytocin plays a huge role in controlling stress. An obstacle or barrier that might hinder this improvement would be human nature, because it s easy for human to get stressed and be clouded with thoughts to be able to solve the issue of handling stress. On the other hand, to solve the obstacles the society needs to be educated on how to make stress their friend. • 10. Brideshead Revisited Essay There is a snake in Eden; corruption in paradise. To what extent do you agree that the Brideshead estate embodies a corrupted paradise in the novel? June 2010 Within the context of pastoral literature, change is typically seen as a destructive force, intrinsic with the movement away from a harmony with the natural world towards modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisitedthe same pattern appears to be followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles life in Oxford into corruption and turmoil or the shifting power balance between the social classes, from the nobility to the lower classes. However, change is not exclusively a negative force in the novel. The title of book one Et in Arcadia Ego suggests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly child and Death s Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that will result. It is as a result of this night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk driving, and introduces them to the realities of adult life. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. This illustrates clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there was chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on. Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility exclusively privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his portrayal of Hooper. Charles states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me of Young Britain ; notably Hooper is not presented as an overly inspiring, promising or likeable character. The use of young has connotations of the working class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to hold positions of power and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old way of life has been left to be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles is presenting the traditional world as being corrupted with the changing, modernised world. Catholicism is a main focus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Renaissance Man Suffering During A Medieval Society Essay A Renaissance man suffering in a Medieval society During the late middle ages, starting in Italy, a cultural movement known as the Renaissance spread through Europe. The Renaissance was a period of rebirth that developed in the forms of art, literature, and education. To understand the natural world, people of the Renaissancestudied the ancient classical works of the Greeks and Romans as explanations of humanabilities. The Renaissance was characterized by the renewed interest in humanist philosophy, or self belief, human worth, and individual dignity. Humanist philosophy was grounded in the idea that the capabilities of human beings should be studied, developed, and understood to the furthest extent possible. In the early 17th century, one of the most famous pieces of literature was written during the Renaissance, William Shakespeare s play Hamlet. The play centers upon Hamlet, who is, and is characterized as a misplaced Renaissance man, who lives in the medieval kingdom of Denmark and struggles to understand the purpose and meaning of man while others around him carry out their actions in traditional medieval mannerism. By using allusions and long metaphors, along with Hamlet s conflict to correct injustice by embracing a humanist approach as opposed to the medieval chivalry manner, Shakespeare conveys many Renaissance ideas through Hamlet s internal struggle to understand what it means to be human. If I m going to defend myself in the community, I m not firing around potentially 1,000 kids. By hiring securitythe school would be protected from any intruders. • 18. Essay about Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles’ Play Oedipus Concepts Of Sight in Sophocles Play Oedipus The concept of sight is one of the major motifs throughout Sophocles play Oedipus the King. The play revolves primarily around series of events caused by many people s insight or lack there of. Oedipus does not see that he is caught up in a web of cruel destiny that he cannot escape. The gods demonstrate foresight and insight into the play. In addition to this, Tiresias has physical blindness but also has prophetic insight. Finally, both Oedipus and Jocasta portray types of mental blindness and shortsightedness. These are all examples of different uses of sight in the play Oedipus the King. Another ironic concept of sight in the play is found through Tiresias, the blind prophet. This is an oxymoron in itself. Tiresias is a wise old man who exhibits supernatural powers to interpret the past and predict the future. The fact that Tiresias is blind makes his visionary powers appear even more mysterious. This leads Oedipus to doubt Tiresias ability to see the truth. Had Oedipus not had so much pride, he would have understood the truth of Tiresias. Tiresias uses puzzling predictions to make men ponder about themselves. He does this to Oedipus by asking him to consider himself the murderer of Laios. He describes the murderer of Laios as blind instead of seeing, beggar instead of rich, he will make his way to foreign soil, feeling his way with a stick (31). This is great foresight on behalf of Tiresias. All of these things will later come true when Oedipus falls from power and blinds himself. It is Tiresias who is the first person to tell Oedipus that he has killed his own father. He tells Oedipus You do not see the evil in which you live (25). It takes a blind prophet to see that it is Oedipus who has murdered Laius. Even so, Oedipus states You are blind, your ears and mind as well as eyes (25). Therefore, when Oedipus insults Tiresias and accuses him of being a false prophet, he is also attacking the gods. This shortsighted decision made by Oedipus can cause no good. The greatly discussed dilemma of having a child be taught in a public school setting versus a homeschool setting has been evaluated by parents since the idea was first introduced in the 1970 s. Public schooling had been the standard method of teaching since it is a requirement for states to provide public, free educationfor children in grades K 12. However, the backlash against the system began when two educational theorists and supporters of schoolreform, John Holt and Raymond Moore, started to question both the techniques and the products of public schools. Some parents went on to support the ideas of them and began to teach their children in the environment of their own homes for several different reasons. Some included moral or religious reasons, a desire for high educational achievement, dissatisfaction with public schools instructional program, or concerns about drugs and peer pressure in a public school environment. Child development specialists believe that homeschooled children are isolated from the outside world, therefore making them socially handicapped. If being exposed to this type of education on an elementary school level, the child can suffer from the lack of fundamental development of effective social skills needed for a lifetime ahead of them. It is believed that by restricting children from the real world and its many problems through home schooling, they may never get the chance to learn both life lessons and social interaction skills on their own ... Despite the warranted success of the program, the Best Buy enterprise continues to face some resistance and difficulties with extending the program beyond headquarters. Nevertheless, the key issues to be discussed are as follows: In regards to chapter 16, the process of organizational socialization starts at the selection process. Best Buy has stymied organizational culture shift by allowing the transition to be at the discretion of the department managers. Managers have displayed a dominant resistant to change. It states that a small donation of only eighteen dollars a month can make a big difference by providing many different forms of aid to the animals. The ASPCA advertisement translates this to sixty cents a day to show how small the donation really is. This is somewhat of a logical and ethical appeal. It appeals logically to the audience because for just a small monetary donation the viewer can help save abused and neglected animal from their abusers and provide medical care, food, shelter and love. This shows that the donation can be used in many essential ways to care for the animal, and that their donation is responsible for giving the animals a second chance. This too is an ethical appeal because donating will make the viewer feel like a good, virtuous person because they contributed to an important cause. One the other hand if they don t decide to donate they may a have a burden on their conscience because not that much money is needed to help make a big difference. In other words the viewer may feel like an unethical and bad person. The advertisement goes on to state that if you donate then you will receive a welcome kit that contains a t shirt, wristband, and a photo of an animal that has been given a second chance because of you. All of this is a further amplification of the logical reason to donate to the ASPCA. The advertisement also uses ethos by having the Grammy winning artist Sarah Mclachlan as the speaker. Sarah seems to speak very truly and caringly about the ASPCA as she pets a dog that s in her lap. This makes the audience feel like Sarah truly cares about the treatment of animals. As a ... • 36. Globalization And The Global Economy For many of the world s population, the growing integration of the global economy has provided the opportunity for substantial income growth. This is reflected not only in higher incomes, but also in the improved availability of better quality and increasingly differentiated final products. However, at the same time, globalization has had its dark side. There has been an increasing tendency towards growing equalization within and between countries and a stubborn incidence in the absolute levels of poverty, not just in poor countries. These positive and negative attributes of globalization have been experienced at a number of different levels the individual, the household, the firm, the town, the region, the sector and the nation. The distributional pattern emerging in recent decades of globalization is thus simultaneously heterogeneous and complex. If those who had lost from globalization had been confined to the non participants, the policy implications would be clear take every step to be an active participant in global production and trade. However, the challenge is much more daunting than this, since the losers include many of those who have participated actively in the process of global integration. Hence, there is a need to manage the mode of insertion into the global economy, to ensure that incomes are not reduced or further polarized. Many factors associated with globalization will affect the distribution returns. For example, macro economic disturbances ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first song is an Austrian folk song called Cuckoo . You can tell this is a folk song from the vivid story telling in the lyrics that lead to a yodel. The second song is an American pop song called Can t Help Falling in Love which was written by George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore and made most famous by Elvis Presley for the album/soundtrack Blue Hawaii in 1961. The main similarity between these two songs is that they have certain rhythms that get repeated multiple times. The two songs have different time signatures. Cuckoo has a compound meter with short and quick notes whereas Can t Help Falling in Love has a simple meter with more long notes. The folk songhas a narrow melodic range that stays in a single octave from D4 to D5 and is diatonic. There is no clear climax to this song and has more of a disjunct motion by having at least one leap in every other measure. The melodic contour of this song is pretty repetitive for the most part. Following much talk of seeing Nigger after Nigger, the reader is left with the feeling that Mr. Head is not only happy to have silence Nelson, but further emphasizes the very color of Nelson s face. This solidifies the character of Mr. Head as one who is so disgusted by Negros that he attempts to turn even his grandson whiter. As Nelson and Mr. Head continue on in search of the train station to take them home, they come across a rich neighborhood full of mansions. After having received directions from a passer by, Mr. Head catches the glimpse of a plaster figure of a Negro just down the road. Consumers of Ford vehicles reported that at least one of their tires spontaneous blew out while driving at highway speeds; more often than not, these accidents resulted in the driver losing control and rolling the vehicle, causing injury or death. After numerous lawsuits, lawyers began to notice a trend. Through multiple clients, they observed the majority of incidents involved Firestone tires on light Ford trucks, particularly the Ford Explorer. From the inception of the Ford Motor Company, Firestone Tires had been a primary supplier of original equipment for Ford vehicles. In the earlier 1990s, the company became the sole supplier of original equipment for light duty Ford Trucks. The Ford Explorer became the number one selling sport utility vehicle in the USA, meaning millions of potentially defective Firestone tires were out on the highways. Outside investigations found numerous issues with the Firestone Tires. One of the root issues began with the trucks rolling off of the Ford assembly lines. Their tires would be underinflated to only twenty six psi, rather than thirty psi, as recommended by Firestone. The tires pressures will naturally decrease over time, thus causing the tires to become dangerously low on air. • 48. Tomato Production Of The Tomato Plant BIG QUESTION where do tomatoes come from and how can we maximise yield? Alex Cottam Tomatoes are edible fruits of Solanum lycopersicum , More commonly known as the tomato plant. The plant originated in central America. Tomatoes are used in many dishes across the globe but were first used in mexico. Tomatoes are grown in temperate climates around the world however more hardy strains have been produced meaning some can survive at lower temperatures however to maximise yield lower temperatures are not ideal. In cooler areas of the globe they can be grown in greenhouses. They grow ,depending on the strain, anywhere from one metre tall to 3 metres tall although bush variates have the maximum yield. Being so tall the plant often cannot support itself as they have weak stems therefore support is required ie canes, stakes etc. The tomato plant is a perennial (grows back each year) in its native climate and grown as an annual (only survives one year then dies from lower temperatures) in temperate climates. In the greenhouse the plant needs to be kept above 16 degrees celsius and below 32 degrees , otherwise the enzymes will become denatured. ideally between 22 26 degrees as this will best imitate its native climate. Temperature is one of the limiting factors of plant growth so is one of the key factors to achieve a high yield. In order to keep it at these temperatures a greenhouse should be used or they should be planted in their native climate however a greenhouse is more ideal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
