ALIX VALENTI – Curriculum Vitae
Alix Valenti is an independent consultant with
extensive multidisciplinary research
experience in both developed (Italy, France,
Spain & UK) and developing (Ghana,
Philippines, Thailand & Timor Leste) countries.
She has worked for NGOs, International
Organisations, private sector as well as
academic institutions, undertaking
comprehensive consultation exercises with a
wide variety of stakeholders: government
officials, lawyers, public/private/civil society
employees, community leaders and
communities.
Within the field of governance and
development, she has recently successfully
defended a PhD focusing on the reconstruction
of state institutions after conflicts. As part of
her PhD fieldwork, she spent one year
investigating the way in which international
interventions impact national institutions and
how these new institutions affect citizenship-
building within urban spaces. As a consultant
for GHK/ICF International, she has also
gained extensive experience undertaking EU
policies impact assessments and comparative
analysis across 27 EU Member States in a vast
variety of fields, including migration and
education.
Alix has also gained defence and security
experience writing reports on the defence and
security situation in Southeast Asia and Asian
Pacific Countries (Taiwan, Thailand, Australia,
