A resistance movement opposed the Japanese occupation, which only had control over 12 of 48 provinces by the end of the war. MacArthur fulfilled his promise to return on October 1944, landing over 700 vessels and 174,000 men on Leyte.

Ninoy Aquino Jr. was a prominent Filipino politician who opposed the Marcos dictatorship. He came from a wealthy family with a history of involvement in Philippine politics. He had a career in journalism before entering politics, where he served as mayor at a young age. He is considered a hero for opposing the Marcos regime and his assassination helped spark the People Power Revolution that restored democracy.

The Philippine Army traces its origins to 1896 when the Katipunan formed the nucleus of the Revolutionary Philippine Army to fight for independence from Spanish rule. In 1897, the Philippine Revolutionary Government and Army were established under General Artemio Ricarte. Independence was declared in 1898 but the country soon faced the Filipino-American War as the Philippines was ceded to the United States. The modern Philippine Army was established in 1935 to defend the nation under US command. It has since played roles in defending the country during World War 2, participating in UN peacekeeping missions, and supporting counterinsurgency and development programs across the Philippines.

Sergio Osmeña was the fourth president of the Philippine Republic and second president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines. He co-founded the Nacionalista Party and had a long political career serving in the House of Representatives, Senate, and as vice president under Manuel Quezon. During World War II, he served as president from 1944-1946 after Quezon died in exile, overseeing the restoration of the Philippine government and liberation from Japanese occupation with the help of US General Douglas MacArthur.

Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. - 2. Double-click to add title He was born in 1906 in the District of San Lorenzo, Jauja deparment of Junin, his parents were farmers Emilio Ponce and Tomasa Vasquez. He studied at the Elementary School 508 Apata and Santa Isabel High School on Huancayo; joined in 1924 as a Student Guard, the "School of Police and Civil Guard" graduated Class Guard Security Corps on March 15th of 1925. CS Corporal on July of 1927, 2nd Sergeant CS on March of 1930, and 1st Sergeant CS on October 10 of 1932.
- 3. In 1931 he was appointed instructor in the School of Police and Civil Guard. On April of 1935 became a Sub-Officer to School Student of the School Officers of the Civil Guard and Police, and January 07 of 1937 as a graduated Ensign CG, going to serve until 1940. For the degree of promotion is 1st Lt. CG on March of 1941. When the events of 1941 on the northern border Perú - Ecuador, Lt CG Alipio Ponce Vasquez was assigned
- 4. as an officer of the First Company at the Civil Guard Detachment established the Northern Border under commanded Captain CG Conrado Ruiz Oliva. Participated in the decisive Battle of Zarumilla, achieving notable victories in the stock of weapons, culminated in the taking of Quebrada Seca, Carcabon and Huabillos. Carcabon was capturated after 25 minutes of action, managed to dislodge the forces opponents, raising the peruvian national flag; and the next day launched a surprise attack against Huabillos position.
- 5. On September 11th of 1941 was killed during a reconnaissance, when his group was ambushed in the valley Porotillo (Ecuador). Twelve days after his death by Supreme Decree, the Peruvian Government awarded him the posthumos promotion to the grade of Captain. The headquarters of the 27th Command of the Civil Guard and Educational Center of the Civil Guard have his name. Is declared Patron of the Civil Guard on 1978, and the Congress declared National Hero of the Civil Guard on 1987.
