An Empirical Study of Shifting Cultivation in Kombo Jinyo Village under West ...ijtsrd
Jhum cultivation or shifting swidden cultivation is prevalent since ancient time. It plays an important role for providing livelihood and food security to many people in hilly areas where the other opportunity of cultivation is not feasible. For Jhumias Jhum cultivators the importance of shifting cultivation goes beyond mere economic concerns. Jhum crops are adjusted to local condition and chemical for pests diseases control is not required. Traditionally, Jhumias specially belong to hilly region are totally dependent on Jhum cultivation because Jhum fields are source for many food and non-food crops which helps farmer to maintain their livelihood. Earlier Jhum was only for subsistence purpose, even in present era the output from Jhum is extremely limited and various programmes and policies implemented by Government is unsatisfactory, but Jhumias are sustaining its livelihood by changing its cropping pattern and land use management. Shifting cultivation is connected to local and regional commodity where cultivator are increasingly integrated to cash crops that are traded locally, regionally which provide resources to themselves and to the society. In the current era deforestation is a challenging one and Jhum cultivation is prevalent in study area. But we cannot incriminate such practice as a sole responsible for deforestation. The 'Invisible Half': Recognizing the contribution of women in agriculture ILRI
Presented by Purvi Mehta and Sapna Jarial at the Regional Conference of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists, New Delhi, India, 12-13 October 2012
Women are the backbone of the rural economy, especially in the developing world.
Empowering and investing in rural women has been shown to significantly increase productivity, reduce hunger and malnutrition and improve rural livelihoods. And not only for women but for everyone.
“Some historians believe that it was women who first domesticated crop plants and thereby initiated the art and science of farming. While men went out hunting in search of food, women started gathering seeds from the native flora and began cultivating those of interest from the point of view of food, feed, fodder, fiber, and fuel.”
“In order to awaken the people, it is the woman who has to be awakened. Once she is on move, the family moves, the village moves, the nation moves”
-Pandit Jawaharalal Nehru
Women make essential contributions to agriculture and rural economic activities in all developing countries.
60-80% of the food in most developing countries is produced by women.
Women have different opportunities and challenges due to the different gender roles and responsibilities of women in their daily lives.
Their activities typically include producing agricultural crops, tending animals, processing and preparing food, collecting fuel and water, caring for family members, and maintaining their homes.
In order to eradicate poverty
To ensure food security
To increase their stake in agriculture
To increase economic contribution Ownership in land, livestock, etc
A woman is the molder and builder of any nation’s destiny.
They play a significant role in any economy.
They are regarded as the backbone of the rural scene.
Rapid urbanization in developing countries is shifting the demand for agricultural goods. Meanwhile, the digitization of value chains is generating more transparent information on the pricing and movement of goods. These changes within food systems open windows of opportunity for agripreneurship — that is, entrepreneurship in the agriculture sector — both on the farm and beyond the farm gate. But due to restrictive cultural norms, discrimination, and legal barriers, rural women around the world often don’t have equal access to essential services that could otherwise pave their way towards employment and agripreneurship
So, how can we engage more rural women and girls~
Champion Mentorship
Nurture Market-Demanded Skills
Promote Experiential Learning
How we can improve the status of women in agriculture and bring visibility to women farmers. The World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Index placed India 112th out of 153 nations in 2020. Women have the lowest levels of economic involvement and prospects, ranking 149th out of 153 nations (World Economic Forum 2020).

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions

Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

• Out of total 14 million hectares in Sindh, 5.45 million hectares are cultivable. The remaining area is either hills of Kirther Range, eastern desert of Thar and
AchharoThar, regions.
5. Women in Agriculture Sector
• Pakistan’s agriculture sector involves 43.7% of labor force that produces their own food needs and ensures
availabilityoffoodfortherestofnationandvalueaddedactivities.
• Men and women farmers are involved in multiple sources of agriculture based livelihoods in Sindh,
Pakistanandmajority ofthem are either smallsubsistence farmers ortenants.
• WomeninSindhare involved incrop productionfromsowing tocultivationto market ofproducts
• Rural poverty ratio in Sindhis around56%(Womenare mostvulnerable group)
• Internal migration from rural to urban areas, especially male, has been increased in last one decade
dueto less opportunities andlandownership, farming&livelihood issues
• This has substantially increased the role of women in both on-farm and off-farm activities along with
greater workburden andresponsibilities ofwomenathome.
6. The roleoftheruralwomen hasnotbeen recognizedto theextenttheycontribute.Their involvement is
actuallymorethanmen in crop production, livestock and dairyfarming
Theyarefacing multiple issuesdue tolocal social andculturalnorms.
Duringlasttwodecades,manypeople, mostlymen migratedfromruraltourbanareasofSindhorabroad
in ordertoimprovetheir incomepossibilitiesandtoavoidexploitationfromlocal landlords.
Suchconditionshavegiven ruralwomenanactiverolein on-farmandoff-farmactivitiesandhasalso

Contribution of Women in Agriculture
7. Contribution of Women in Agriculture
Rice andcotton cultivation in Sindh jointly accounts formorethan one-third ofwomen’s annual agricultural activities.
Similarly, women’s participation is the highest in cotton production in Sindh as this is considered tobe women led activity.
In rice andcotton growingareas, ruralwomen havebeen spending 39 percent and50 percent oftheir time in related activities
respectively.
They areinvolved in various primaryandsecondary cotton operations including weeding andthinning, applying manure,
hoeing, cotton cleaning, stick removing andstorage of cotton seed for domestic use.
Women in ruralareas alsoinvolved in fetching water from1 to 2KMaway from their houses in ruralareas of Sindh
Women involved in household activities and careofchildren
8. Issues of Women’s Involvement in
Agriculture
Women farmers have less knowledge about using latest agriculture technologies
They have increased burden of on-farm and off-farm activities, lack of clean drinking
water,
Inappropriate sanitation facilities, low and poor quality health services and imbalanced
intake of food affects women’s health and makes them prone to diseases.
Many women during diseases & pregnancies further suffer in the hands of quacks. This
has also increased the prevalence of mortality rate amongst rural women
Rural Sindh is facing menace of hepatitis A & B, C in many areas. Maternal anemia is very
high and 62 percent pregnant women face chronic malnutrition in rural areas of Sindh

Constraints
• Rural women in the agriculture sector do not have access to
latest technologies and farming, etc.

and weak vocational training infrastructure that limits women’s
ability to improve their agriculture productivity and income.
• Disparities in daily wage rates and working hours of women and
men.
• Social barrier and cultural taboos
Solutions

agriculture inputs & capacity building about the use of latest
technologies in farming
