This document provides instructions for installing VirtualBox and configuring it to run an Ubuntu 17.04 guest operating system. • VirtualBox is a hypervisor, currently developed by Oracle
Corporation and, targeted for x86 machines.
• VirtualBox is open source and freely available.
• It will be used during sessions involving installation and
configuration of Alfresco to emulate a production
environment.
• This will also ensure that all participants are exposed to the same
environment.

During this hands-on tutorial you will learn how to quickly provision local test/development/demo environments using Vagrant and Virtualbox. We will cover provisioning and configuring machines quickly using Vagrant and CFEngine. You will learn how Vagrant and Virtualbox can be used to bring up local development/test/demo environments. You will also learn how CFEngine can be leveraged to automate configuration of the environment after it has been initialized. You will take away a multi-vm test environment managed by CFEngine. This tutorial targets technical people who need repeatable test environments and are comfortable using the Linux command-line. These environments can speed developer on-boarding, play a role in continuous integration, or just provide quick sandboxes for experimentation. No previous knowledge of Vagrant or CFEngine is required.

A large amount of current malware uses various anti-virtual-machine techniques in order to avoid detection by analysis. These techniques allow the malware to detect the virtual machine which will then execute a benign action or simply do nothing. Many of these techniques are bases on finding specific files in the system or consulting some windows registry keys. The purpose of this research is to study the characteristics of the ORacle Virtual Box virtualized system and try to replicate the configuration on a physical computer, in order to trick malware into thinking it is in a virtual environment and thus not triggering its execution.

At Qt Day 2019 in Florence, Italy, I gave a presentation about "Using Qt under LGPLv3". In the first part, I go through Section "4. Combined Works" and explain the obligations of LGPLv3 in detail. When you combine your application with the Qt libraries, you can keep closed the source code of the application and publish the application and the Qt libraries under your license terms. You must satisfy the following conditions. On a physical medium like a USB drive or DVD, you must provide the source code of the Qt libraries, the text of the LGPLv3 and GPLv3, the Copyright notices of the Qt libraries, a description of your modification of the Qt libraries and the installation information. If your application has a user interface, you must display the license texts of the LGPLv3 and GPLv3 and the Copyright notices in this user interface. The installation information - a.k.a. the anti-tivoisation clause - describes how the user can build a modified version of Qt, how to install this version on the device, and how to run the application with the modified Qt version on the device. If you build a B2B product, you need not provide the installation information. In the second part, I compare the costs of Qt Commercial and Qt LGPLv3. You must check the licenses for all packages of the (embedded) Linux system, no matter whether you use Qt Commercial or Qt LGPLv3. Qt commercial adds per-developer fees and per-unit fees (royalties). If you use Boot2Qt, Qt for Automation, Qt Safe Renderer or other commercial add-ons, Qt Commercial may well be worth the additional costs. In the third part, I show how Yocto (bitbake) and Fossology help with the compliance checks. Fossology is a license and copyright scanner.

In a cloud based environment, where automation is a primary concern, guest operating systems need to be provisioned at boot time. There are a lot of actions that need to be performed at this stage, ranging from assigning the admin user’s credentials to creating WinRM listeners, storage configurations, RDP settings, guest agent installation, custom data execution and much more. The de-facto standard guest provisioning tools are cloud-init on Linux and cloudbase-init on Windows. I will present how cloudbase-init runs on all the Microsoft supported Windows editions (there are quite a few) and how it supports a plethora of metadata service implementations (EC2, OpenStack, the recently added Azure). Cloudbase-init is being run thousands of times daily all over the world’s public clouds and data centers and it has reached more than 5 million known runs to date. We will also take an in-depth look at the Argus integration testing framework, which automates the integration testing of cloudbase-init on real world platforms, to make sure it meets a very strict set of performance, compatibility and security requirements. At the end I will show you a live demo with a cloudbase-init bootstrapped Windows instance on Azure, and how you can benefit from the provisioning process.

The Republic of Zambia, like many countries world-over, is faced with a critical shortage of trained radiologists, medical experts specialised in the interpretation of medical images for radiological diagnosis of health conditions. It was reported that as of 2019, Zambia had only five (5) trained radiologists against a population of 17 million (Bwanga et al., 2019). This project is a pilot study that seeks to investigate the challenges resulting from the shortage of radiologists and to investigate the feasibility of implementation of efficient and effective medical imaging workflows using enterprise imaging techniques, in order to demonstrate the potential of enterprise imaging in addressing the grand challenges associated with medical imaging in Zambia.
