           Aim 3
“To celebrate the capabilities
and potential of older people
  and their value to society”
UN Madrid International Plan
      of Action for
         Ageing
The potential of older persons is a powerful
basis for future development. This enables
societies to rely increasingly on skills,
experience and wisdom of older persons,
not only to take the lead in their own
     betterment but also to participate
actively in society as a whole.
Adopted by the World Assembly on Ageing, 2002
UN Conference on
         Ageing 2007
We confirm that life long learning and
active ageing, success with information
    and communication technology,
 volunteering and civic engagement,
               are crucial
