    Album Covers
Young Guns produce music under the genre of Alternative Rock,
they are targeted at an audience from 16 to 30. The album cover
does not show the band, I don’t think that featuring the band on
the album is essential as if you like the band and are a big fan you
aren't too bothered about if they feature on the cover, you are still
likely to buy the album. This is their first album that they released
which features a Lion head which takes up the entire cover, this
relates to the album name, ‘All Our Kings Are Dead’. I think Lions
are linked with ‘Kings’ as they are proud and majestic animals. I
think it suggests to the audience that Young Guns are independent
artists and are a strong band. The dark colours and the rigid pattern
around the lion suggests what the music is going to be like.
Wild beats are a similar band to Alt-J and produce music under
the genre of Indie Rock. The album is called ‘Two dancers’, on the
cover it features, what looks like a man and a woman, they are
silhouetted, it is a medium close up and the two people have
been merged into one. I think this has been done because of the
album name, ‘Two Dancers’ and when you dance with someone,
the two are meant to move as one and I think this is what it is
trying to portray. There are four colours on the album light blue,
grey, white and a red/pink colour, all of these colours are quite
calming which suggests what the music is going to be like.
The Black keys are a similar band to The Young Guns as
they are producing a type of rock music, also they are
similar to Alt-J as their music is categorised as Blues
Rock or Indie Rock. This is their second album and
features a long shot of a car, El Camino, this is because
the album is called ‘El Camino’. ‘El Camino’ means the
road in Spanish, this could be the reason there is a car
on the album cover, as a car is a form of transport.
