4. Completed Projects:
Extension and modification to the Residence for Mr. & Mrs. Vinod -
Malabe
December 2012 to May 2014
The client was in need of modifying the
already constructed single story house to
a more modern 3 story house with an open
terrace. Special care and planning was
needed to carry out the works of upper
floors due to occupancy at lower level.
Work Scope: Architectural design,
Structural Design, Quantity surveying
(Preparation of BOQ and Contractor
payments), Project Management and
Consulting.

6. Proposed Shop, Office and Residence of Mr. Kamal Deshapriya -
Maradana
December 2013 to April 2014
The above project was a 4 story mixed development
at Maradana. All designs were done using
SAP2000 Structural Analysis Software. The
ground floor was a vehicle repair garage, First
floor was office space and the Third & fourth
floor was designed as the residence of the owner.
In order to optimize the structure in terms of cost
& functionality, a very complex structure was
developed which comprised of transfer beams and
floating columns. The sub structure was specially
designed to cater the heavy loads of the structure
and the very weak soil condition.
During Construction
Work Scope: Structural Design, Design of Services, preparation of drawings and
Quantity Surveying, Construction up to 1st floor level.

7. Reconstruction of 50ft Retaining wall and boundary structure for
Residence of Mrs. Perera – Koswatta
January 2014 to June 2014
This was a total reconstruction of a completely failed retaining wall structure with a
retaining height of 12 ft. & a total length of 50 ft. The existing retaining wall was
poorly constructed & the adjoining structures have contributed to the failure of the
Retaining wall. AES used Prokon Structural Design software to carry out the
analysis of the structure for the given soil, & loading conditions. The project was
carried out in two phases. Initially the retaining wall was done which was followed by
the boundary chain link fence of 6 ft. height. The existing wall did not have either
weep holes or any other proper drainage system. The newly built wall even had a
grade one Geo textile introduced as a filter material to avoid blockage of weep holes.
Work Scope: Analysis & Designing of retaining wall and construction of both retaining
wall and the boundary structure.

9. Proposed bakery and Restaurant for M/S Walgama Bakers - Matara
July 2014 to August 2014
This project was carried out as a joint venture between AES and T+Team - Chartered
architects for a well-known bakery chain in the southern area of Sri Lanka. The
building was a three story which houses a bakery, restaurant and staff
accommodation. SAP 2000 Structural Design software was used to carry out the
analysis of the structure.

10. Proposed Baby room construction & structural repairs for Mr. &
Mrs. Sandanayaka - Gothatuwa
January 2016 to April 2016
This was a uniquely
challenging project for
AES as there was a tight
deadline and a very
limited budget for the
delivery of the two work
items. The existing house
had major structural &
nonstructural defects
developed through time.
AES was able to identify
the defects and rectify
them to the utmost
satisfaction of the client. The 2nd
phase was the conversion of a large outdoor
terrace in to a cozy, secure baby room.

Proposed residence for Mrs. Dharmasena - Kadawatha
September 2014 to Present
This project is also carried out in partnership
with M/S T+Team - Chartered Architects. The
Structural Design was again carried out using
the latest version of SAP 2000 Analysis
software and the structure was functionally
optimized to cater to client and Architect
requirement.

14. Proposed Modification & Addition to Residence of Mr. Bandara -
Kotikawatta
June 2015 to Present
The existing two story residence is proposed to receive an additional section which
will make it a separately functioning house. The existing upper floor and ground floor
will receive extensive modifications to accommodate the client requirements. The AES
proposal is being evaluated by client.

Proposed Residence for Mr. Wijayasena - Narahenpita
July 2015 to Present
The project is a Design and supervision project for an extensive extension for an
existing single story house at Narahenpita. The extension is a three story building
with a roof terrace. Design work is carried out by Orion18 Structural Design
software.
