PROFILE
I am a Creative Director, Art Director, Design
Manager and Packager within the children’s
publishing industry, with experience developing
lists and product including Early Learning,
Novelty, Non-fiction, Licensed Character and
Picture books for UK, US and co-edition markets.
Having an eye for detail, being meticulous and
a lover of systems, some have suggested I may
have a touch of OCD – I like to think of it as
being well organised and caring.
With experience of managing a design team in
liaison with publisher, editorial and production
for a fast-paced UK and co-edition packager/
publisher, being part of a cohesive, well-run and
maintained creative team is paramount.
The experience gained directing within a core
management group of such a vibrant, energetic
and demanding company furnished me with
many skills. Many of those skills have served to
advance my career both in employment and as
a freelance creative resource and packager to
publishers within the UK and US.
CORE SKILLS
New product development from the ground
up, including: concept creation, complete print
specifications, P&L budget management,
commissioning, design development, artworking
and delivery of files to repro, plus proof checking
and QC at the point of manufacture.
Back list re-purposing and rejuvenation.
New and existing brand/list development.
Creative and Art direction.
Internal and external team management.
Client and supplier facing (B2B).
Skilled user of Mac OS, Adobe CC 2015
(Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat),
Microsoft Excel and Word, plus experience
of DAM.

I also come armed with paper engineering abilities
and in-house illustration agency experience.
