UK And US Universities for entry onto the final year/s of the Bachelors and Masters Programs.
DEGREE TOP-UP:
 Students start their degree journey at Colbourne College. Upon completing with BTEC Diploma, the destination of these students is final year of university in the United States or United
Kingdom for the degree. Students may also study on the degree year wholly distant learning, but attend their graduation ceremony on-campus.
HOW WE WORK:
 Students attend our college for 16-20 Months, earn the Diploma directly from Pearson BTEC, and progress onto final year of university in the US or UK for the Masters, or Bachelors
Degree. Students may request our job assistance services when studying abroad and once approved by the appropriate government offices to work.
MODE OF STUDY
 In the first 20 Months of the program, students from anywhere in the world can study Distant Learning. Students may also choose Scheduled Online Classes or In-Class in Jamaica with
Colbourne College. For final year (8 – 16 Months), the students progress on-campus in the US or UK with the university of choice. Distant learning is also available.

AVIATION PROGRAM – BTEC LEVEL 3 NATIONAL DIPLOMAS
 The Aviation Programs provides aspiring Airline Employees with an overview of the aviation industry,
concepts of flight, flight attendant duties and responsibilities,and further looks at safety and service in
the industry.This course also looks at the teamwork and coordination among the flight and cabin
crew with lively and interactive class formats that allow students to role play and stimulation of
customer service scenes and in-flight duties and responsibilities including various aspects of in-flight
communication and beverage service.You may enter this program without CXC, SAT, or GED.
However we strongly recommend that if you do not have at least four subjects that you apply for the
L3 Certificate in Aviation Operation with GED.
 BTEC Level 3 Nationals are equivalent in standard to A levels, providing specialist qualifications for
learners who have a clear line of sight to their future career or are planning to progress through
further or higher education.They’re suitable for students aged 16 and over.
 BTEC National qualifications provide a more practical, real-world way of learning and their value is
widely recognised by teaching professionals, employers, higher education and students.
 On successful completion of a BTEC L3 National qualification, learners can progress to or within

• The Application Fee of $30 is not included in the tuition. The annual tuition quoted includes £250 holding fee, otherwise called placement deposit. This Holding Fee is ALREADY calculated in the tuition shown.
• The Academic Year has 8 Months Or 2 Semesters. Example: YR 1 September – April; YR 2 May – December; and YR 3 January – August. New Classes Start September (Fall), January (Spring) And May (Summer).
• Tuition quoted is the annual cost of studying distant learning at Colbourne College, AIM’s institute which carries out the instruction and internal assessment of the BTEC University Pathway Programs.
• Tuition EXCLUDES retaking classes due to failed courses, supplemental paper, late submission of coursework, or penalty for late payments. The course deadlines, penalties and conditions of passing are in the
Assignment Briefs. Late Penalty of $10 is added every Monday on late payments or outstanding balances after the scheduled and published deadline passed.
• The Level 7 MBA Pathway has ten (10) courses and will take approximately 16-20 months. Students do 2-3 Courses on a Semester. The semester is half of the school year. The school year is eight months.
• External Fee is paid to Pearson, UK for Registration for the BTEC Assessment, award of the Diploma, and Transcript. The external fee is paid within three (3) Months of commencing the program. However,
students with financial constraints may pay this anytime within, but no later than the final semester, and with the late fees levied by Pearson.
• The Level 7 Diploma is taught at Colbourne College. Students who complete the Level 7 Diploma will apply for final year/s of the master’s degree at a US or UK University. University Of Northampton is our
preferred partner for the MBA top-up. The tuition and fees are directly set by the University. The top-up usually takes just eight (8) months for the MBA degree at a UK University.

 BTEC Nationals, Higher Nationals and the Professional qualifications are made up of course
units which are internally assessed mainly through case study and research assignments.
 The assessment of students work is quality assured through a combination of first marker
and the sampling of the marked scripts by an Internal Verifier.
 All internal processes are quality assured for standards through the annual verification of the
center that is conducted by Pearson. The processes include the marking of batch of students
scripts, and proofing of the academic standards, documentation, learning outcomes, learner
support services and students feedback on the education and services.

four year US University.
 Students with BTEC L5 Higher Nationals, And the

Universities for advanced placement onto final years of the

 According to the US Department Of State, Foreign Students
may work in the United States after a period of study, and
one full year after completing their programs.
 Foreign students with an employer willing to file for H1B
Status, may be granted up to seven years to work, and a
Green Card after that period.

APPLYING FOR THETOP-UP DEGREE AND THE F1VISA PROCESS:

WORK AUTHORIZATION
 All students who start AIM-USA may choose to complete the degree in the United States Or
United Kingdom. This means that you will Work -Study-Live Abroad for a limited period
optionally during and after completing the degree.
 For students studying in the United states, you will need an F1 Student Visa granted by the
local US Consular Office in your country. While in the US you will be allowed to work for
periods of your study as well as one full year after completing university.

OBTAINING PERMANENT LEGAL STATUS IN THE US
 Your US employer may also file for the H1 Visa for you which allows you to work for seven (7)
years before filing for the Green Card. The goal of most International students after they
graduate is to remain in the USA to gain work experience relevant to their degree studies.
The H1B visa program is designed for and made available to F1 students to achieve this goal
while overseas. H1B status is initially granted for a maximum period of three years, but it can
be extended for up to six years. This six-year maximum remains in effect no matter how many
employers the foreign national has over this time period.
