Editor's Notes
First time most students will hear of the ASCThe ASC becomes your advisor and resource for various academic services
Mention vision statement?
Ask students to make a note of their advisor’s namePoint out that their advisor’s name and contact info is on the major sheet
Must go to China for CBS minor
Explain that the course they are taking now are getting them closer to COB 300 (and graduation). So, there’s a need to explain what COB 300 actually is since they will be hearing if often.
Must apply with OIP one year in advanceCompetitive
Somehow we need to explain WHEN a student needs to apply to COB 300. Mary gets many questions from students asking if they should apply Feb1/March1 or wait until they complete BBA core courses. She also gets applications from students applying too early.
Refer to the green worksheetMay need to jump forward to next screen explaining RF and RC and jump back.
The Permission to Take Courses for Transfer Credit form is located on the JMU Registrar’s website at www.jmu.edu/registrar.
Explain that COB has a central override request process. Overrides requested after this period may not be considered.Stress the importance of getting a request in during this time.Remind students that this process does not accommodate swapping.Remind students that if a suitable section is open, they should take it.
