Knutson Taylor, Pen non and Smith mentioned that chemicals are hazardous substances
whose objective is to execute Pests. There is a high range of differentiated sorts of chemicals, with
varying uses. Some are extraordinarily intended to murder bugs, while others kick out parasites or
bacteria, some are utilized to execute rodents, and a developing sum is utilized to slaughter weeds.
On the other hand, the vast majority of these chemicals are likewise harmful to Pests as well as to
numerous types of plants and creatures, including people. Little amounts of these chemicals could
slaughter a man, make them sick or reason other long haul wellbeing issues. Pesticides are
chemicals that slaughter bothers (2015).
This article answers one of my research questions. The question asks about why do farmers
use chemicals. Farmers use chemicals to slaughter bugs, infections or weeds that could harm their
harvests, reducing the crop yields. Most agriculturists feel insecure since consumer protection is not
guaranteed when pests strike making the benefits minimized without chemicals. Lower yields are as
a result of low quality as a result of the harm caused by the notorious pests. With them serially
visiting the flourishing crops, there is no guarantee of safety, either on the grounds that they would
have lower yields or their items would have low quality. Worth noting, organic products with a
decent looking smooth skin can be marketed and sold at very impressive higher costs than natural
products with terrible looking and unpleasant skin. Ranchers shower to moderate harvest harm
created by bugs. A vermin is any natural organic entity that poses a threat to human living by
destroying crops and comprises weeds, pathogens, as well as arthropods, which impact greatly on
the quality of yields once meddled with them. Some of the impact felt by the crop yields are
permanent and cannot be reversed; translating to irrecoverable loses borne by customers that are as
a result of high production costs.
Human beings make very important steps and commit much of their energy in their pursuit
to keep the crops free from vermin and related diseases; it is easy to help in crop diseases control by
using crop assurance tools, stunning a range animal weed variety that includes plant maladies and
bugs that harm crops. Ranchers face ultimate tasks to try to keep these difficulties a bay all season,
it matters little whether they are natural or customary. The crop insurance items differ by
environment, topographical area as well as atmosphere, requiring every homestead to be secure in
the range of product items. Pesticides impact greatly where they land, whether on the crops or the
person spraying and the effect may ra.

as well as health hazards that it may
bring when mishandled.

Next-generation protein-rich potato expressing the seed protein
gene AmA1 is a result of proteome
rebalancing in transgenic tuber. Proceedings of the National
Academy of Sciences, (2010): 107(41).
5. Web. 28 Mar. 2015.
In the article Next-generation protein-rich potato expressing the
seed protein gene AmA1 is
a result of proteome rebalancing in transgenic tuber,
Chakraborty thinks that humans have brought
out a large number of chemical items into the environment.
Some are the waste products from
industries and agricultural processes. Some have been made as
structural materials while others
have been designed to perform various functions such as killing
pests and weeds. Some chemicals
are helpful but many are poisonous and their injury, to the
environment and our health dominate
their benefit to society. We need to maintain the exposure better
by only using chemicals, which are
safe.
This article answers one research question. The question is does
the agriculture needs all
these chemicals or we can avoid them. Chemicals get into the
air as emissions and water as
emanation. Industrial diffusion of nitrogen and sulfur oxides
cause acid rain, which kills fish and
other aquatic organisms in rivers and affects the capacity of the
6. soil to support plants. Carbon
dioxide causes the greenhouse aftermath and climate change.
Chlorofluorocarbons cause the
degradation of the ozone layer and cause the possibility of
deliberate environmental damage from
ultraviolet dispersion. Chemical, fertilizers and nutrients run-
off from farms cause the amplification
of toxic algae in rivers, making them uninhabitable to aquatic
animals and displeasing for humans.
Some toxic chemicals find their way from landfill waste sites
into our groundwater, rivers and
oceans and activate genetic changes that compromise the ability
of life to reproduce and survive.
The contact of human activities on the environment is large and
affects a chain of
interconnecting environs. The death of species all along the web
means the loss of useful genetic
material and life-saving cancer treatment or safer alternatives to
the alarming chemicals in use.
Additionally, harmful chemicals such as these are lead into the
environment. They affect living
things which may not be discovered up to many years after their
dispensation.
7. In short, some chemicals are important for agriculture and some
other are not. We have to
try to use as less chemicals as we can because some of them are
harmful for agriculture, animals
and human.

Horrigan, L., Lawrence, R. S. and Walker, P. "How Sustainable
Agriculture Can Address the
Environmental and Human Health Harms of Industrial
Agriculture." Environmental health
perspectives 110.5 (2002): 445-456.
Horrigan, Lawrence and Walker in their article titled "How
sustainable agriculture can
address the environmental and human health harms of industrial
agriculture" discuss in length the
impact that the agricultural practices in the modern world have
not only the environment, but also
8. the inhabitants. The questions answered in the article start with
the inquisition of what entails
industrial agriculture. According to the authors, this occurs
when the farms are viewed as factories
with inputs and outputs; and controlled by the effort to increase
productivity while minimizing
costs. This leads to the next question tackled which is the effect
that such agricultural practices have
had on the land, water and the people themselves. Horrigan,
Lawrence and walker then highlight the
concept of sustainable agriculture whereby systems that allow
for agricultural practices to be
conducted in a more environmentally friendly way are used.
This article answers one of my research questions. The
question asks that are the major areas
of the world which use chemicals to grow their agriculture.
Through their findings therefore, it is
easy to pinpoint the areas where agricultural practices that make
use of harmful chemicals are. First,
a trend has been observed all over the world when it comes to
the rearing of cattle and the
subsequent beef uptake. More farmers are resulting into feeding
cattle with grains which are very
inefficient in energy conversion. The result has been an increase
9. in levels of meat eaten especially
in industrialized countries thus an increase in the chronic
diseases affecting the people. The root
cause of this scenario is the chemicals used in agricultural
practices may it be in crops or in
livestock.
Apart from the fertilizers, agriculturists are also reportedly
using up to 3 million tons of
pesticides annually in their agricultural practices. The US is the
major culprit contributing the
highest percentage to the pesticide use. When broken down, this
leads to the release of more than
2000 chemicals into the world annually. The situation in the
pesticide use is made worse by the fact
that only 0.1% of the chemicals in the pesticide end up in the
actual crop. The rest is released to
harm the environment through various avenues. The US and
China being the most affected countries
in this use of chemicals have faced certain consequences. China
has for instance seen an increase in
the deaths of people due to chronic diseases, while the US has
seen an increase in the in area of sea
10. referred to as the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico.
Generally, the level of use of chemicals in agriculture has
been on the increase especially in
America. The rest of the world also contributes to this with
there being reported more than 2 million
poisonings and 10000 deaths annually due to agriculture related
poisons.

Yang Meng, Overuse of fertilizers and pesticides is causing
pollution and food safety problems.
What’s more, Chinese agriculture has now become reliant on
these chemicals, China and the world
discuss environment, September, 2012
Yang Meng is the writer of this article titled “Overuse
of fertilizers and pesticides is
causing pollution and food safety problems. What’s more,
Chinese agriculture has now become
reliant on these chemicals.” In this article he had been helped
11. on the technical part by Zeng
Fentiang an agricultural researcher in China. This article
evaluates the impact of over use of
fertilizers to the soil in the long run and seeks to establish that
they have some damaging impact on
the soil.
This article answers one of my research questions. The
questions asks about is using
chemicals in agriculture discussed broadly by the experts in
agronomy and environmentalists, as
they discuss the other issues very broadly. The article has two
main issues that it responds to. The
first is whether use of much fertilizer makes the plants
healthier, and secondly whether there is an
effect on the prolonged use of excess fertilizer to the
environment. The conclusion of the paper are
derives from research done by Chinese Academy of agricultural
science.
From a research conducted in several provinces, it has been
establishes that of the fertilizer that is
used by the Chinese farmers, plants takes thirty present of the
fertilizer. The rest of the fertilizer is
left dumped in the soil. Zeng says that in the following season,
there will be an addition to this
12. fertilizer, but yet still; the plant intake is the same and the
excess is left soil.
Zeng says that there in the past, the Chinese people did not
need to use commercial
fertilizers. The soil was self sufficient and additions were
usually done form cow waste. However,
when the western came into China, they introduced the
commercial fertilizer. Over the number of
the years that the fertilizers have been in use, the soil has
become dependent on the fertilizers. He
says that planting a crop now will not make not thrive unless
fertilizer has been added to the soil.
The soils have become totally reliant on the fertilizers. Many
farmers are also known to use
pesticides and herbicides in their farms. The farmers at most
times want instant outcomes and they
thus end upon putting excess pesticides just to make sure the
pests are completely dead. The excess
amount becomes a form of pollution as the excess amount ends
up in the environment.
In short, using chemicals in agriculture discussed broadly by
the experts. Experts concluded
13. that the using chemicals in agriculture excessively hurt the
plants and the soil. This considered as
pollution to the environment.
