3. Agriculture Extension Services
1. Agriculture Extension service is indispensable and it offers
more than just expert assistance in improvement of
production.
2. It took Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over decades to reach
comprehensive institutionally established and organized
service.
3. Extension services enables flow of information and transfer
of knowledge and scientific findings to practice which is
helping to develop livelihood enterprises and promote
productivity to generate income.
4. Agricultural extension is one of the means available to help
alleviate poverty and improve food security.
5. Agricultural extension is a unique service which provides
access to small farmers and the rural poor living far from the
urban centers to non-formal education and information
services.

perceiving potential output with an acceptable
quality on sustainable basis

 To make Farming community enable to fetch
highest economic yield and food security

8. Functions
 Dissemination of recommended agricultural practices
 Educate/Train farmers in improved agricultural production technology
 Production and distribution of quality seed and fruit plants
 Advisory services in insect/pest management and horticultural activities
 Organize farmers for collective solution of agricultural problems (through
MFSCs)
 Quality control and regulatory measures of Agricultural inputs
 Establishment of Regulated Markets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
 Execution of various crops Introduction & Promotion Programme (IPP)
