2. Affirmative Agreement
Affirmative agreement indicates that one person or thing does something and
then that another does the same.
Affirmative is indicated by using the word so and too.
Pattern :
Affirmative statement (be) + and + subject + verb (be) + too
Ex : We are going to the movies tonight, and Suzy is too
Affirmative statement (be) + and + so + verb (be) +Subject
Ex : We are going to the movies tonight, and so is Suzy
3. Pattern
Affirmative sentence + And + Subject + Auxiliary only + too
Affirmative sentence + And + So + Auxiliary only + subject
Affirmative statement + And + Subject + Do, does. Did + Too
Affirmative statement + And + So + Do, does, did + Subject
Type 1 :
They will work in the lab tomorrow, and you will too
Type 2 :
They will work in the Lab tomorrow, and so will you
Type 3 :
Jane goes to the school, and my sister does too
Type 4 :
Jane goes to school, and so does my sister
4. Negative agreement
Negative agreement is indicated by using either and neither
Pattern :
Negative statement + and + subject + negative auxiliary or be + either
Ex : John hasn’t seen the movie yet, and I haven’t either
Negative statement + and + neither + positive auxiliary or be + subject
Ex : Lisa isn’t fat, and neither is Jenny
