Microsoft launched technologies like MS-DOS, Windows, and Office that became ubiquitous in computers and helped establish its dominance in the software industry.

Scotland has the opportunity to lead the world in digital engagement and accessibility given its existing strengths and global partnerships. Small countries like those in Scandinavia have shown that cooperation and sharing resources leads to better outcomes. Scotland already has assets like accessible talking books and synthetic voices that could be better utilized. If Scotland embraces transformations in areas like e-books, accessible televisions and mobile devices, and ensures citizens have skills to use new technologies, it can achieve inclusive digital engagement and serve as an exemplar.

The purpose of CAMentrepreneurs is to support business and social entrepreneurship among Cambridge University alumni, current students and others. CAMentrepreneurs is global. Since its launch CAMentrepreneurs has held 59 events in Cambridge, Dubai, Dallas. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helsinki, Houston, London, New York, Oxford, Paris, Vancouver and Warsaw, as well as online events.
CAMentrepreneurs operates on a TED -> TEDx model, in that we only launch a group when there are people in the city concerned who want to take the lead in getting a group off the ground (and there is sufficient interest).

Recently on my visit to meet the remainder of my team in San Fransisco, I presented an update on the digital landscape in Australia. It was a brilliant exercise and a great opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts, qualms and questions on the subject.
Delivering a Digital Strategy - IWM’s story
The document summarizes the digital transformation of the Imperial War Museums (IWM) over several years. When Carolyn Royston joined in 2009, IWM had no digital strategy or department. She established a Digital Media department and roadmap to raise IWM's digital profile through projects like a new website and social media presence. Staff were consulted and buy-in was gained. The strategy evolved over time and new challenges addressed, like developing staff digital skills through initiatives like a "Computer Club." Digital is now integrated across IWM's operations and audiences are increasingly accessed digitally.

What kinds of jobs will we need to train students of today for the work of tomorrow? Well the future of work is here. Covers trends in global demographics, innovation and economics that will affect everyone in the future. Millennials will make up 75% of the US workforce by 2025. However, she stressed that the core principles of why engagement is done, who it aims to reach, and how to effectively plan strategies remain important. Lew provided examples of how platforms like Pinterest, Wikipedia, blogs and Flickr have enabled new forms of open collaboration and learning.

The U.S. is in the midst of the largest shift of of human capital in history. Some 80 million millennials are becoming the majority of the workforce while the nearly 80 million Boomers head full steam retirements. The change has major implications on hiring and retaining employees as well as branding, marketing and managing companies.
