“Seed is expensive, so we need
to make sure we’re planting it in
the right amount with the right
spacing. If we’re paying for traits
in new hybrids, we need to know
there is enough value in those
traits to justify the additional
cost of the seed. The Ag Leader
Integra display allows us to gather
the information we need to know
for sure.”

equal. And, if your field operations require high
accuracy at very low operating speeds (for example,
specialty crops), you won’t find a better option.
High Accuracy
Even at Low Speed
ParaDyme is the choice for operations
that require ultra-low speed operation
(as slow as 0.05 mph). Its dual-antenna
GNSS steering solution provides accuracy
within 1/10th of a degree – even when not
moving. This makes it the ideal steering
system for hipping, planting or harvesting
bedded crops, installing drip tape or
planting and harvesting specialty crops.
Proven Technology
ParaDyme’s field-proven
technology supports more
than 700 different vehicles,
including floaters, sprayers,
tile plows and other
specialty equipment.

“I’d say the benefits of automatic
guidance involve a lot more than just
accuracy. For me, the repeatability is
probably the biggest factor. It’s the
fact that I can do something once
and come back with another stage of
the process and either do it the exact
same way or adjust it accordingly.”

• Ground Drive
	 - Clutches
	 - Linear Actuator
• Hydraulic Drive
	 - PWM Valve
	 - Servo Valve
Select models of electric drives
are supported, as well.
Two channels allow the
down force to be adjusted
separately on the planter
wings compared to the
center section of the
planter where there is
more soil compaction. This
is a big advantage over air
bag systems that average
downforce across the
entire toolbar.
2013P r o d u c t C ata l o g
Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force
system adjusts pressure instantly
in changing soil types without the
inconsistency created by pneumatic
systems that respond over a longer
period of time (and land). It could take
a air bag system up to 20 seconds to
inflate enough to create the proper
down force, compared to one second
with Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force
system. The difference? A quarter acre
using a 24-row planter.
• Choose higher-yielding seed based on historical yield performance.
• Generate variable rate seed prescriptions.
• Layer planting and harvest maps to easily compare seed performance.

“Most of my main farm is rotated
between cotton and peanuts. There’s
a herbicide that is used on peanuts
that can cause problems with cotton,
causing the plants to be stunted
where the sprayer was overlapping
on the ends and points. Once I put
DirectCommand on the sprayer, the
AutoSwath function helped to cut
down on this a lot. In addition, it also
reduces fatigue. We’ve got an 80-foot
boom on the sprayer, yet we’ve got
a lot of small fields. So we’d always
be watching the booms and flipping
switches. With DirectCommand, we
just set it up and go.”
Jason Strock, Orangeburg County, SC
DirectCommand Benefits:
• Eliminate overapplication, overlap, spray drift and application
gaps that increase input costs and decrease yield potential.
• Lengthen application windows during application operations.
• Reduce fuel costs and field compaction by applying multiple products at one time.
• Increase yield potential and better target product application through crop sensing
	 and prescription application strategies.
• Document all field application data and provide simple reporting.
AutoSwath for Sprayers
DirectCommand’s AutoSwath feature reduces overapplication and product waste by
automatically turning the applicator (liquid or granular) on/off based on field boundaries
and already-applied areas as it passes over the field. The system reduces input costs and
increases application accuracy by minimizing skips and overlaps at end rows, fence rows
and along waterways.
AutoSwath for Spreaders
DirectCommand simplifies spreader control by controlling the conveyor spinner speed,
in addition to monitoring the bin level. The system reads ground speed and automatically
adjusts product flow to match target application rate. DirectCommand control modules
support PWM, motorized servo, Mark IV.2, Mark IV.4 and Mark V hydraulic control valves.
DirectCommand supports application control of multiple bin spinner spreaders.
FEATURES
Rate Control
DirectCommand continuously controls,
adjusts and records field application
based on manually entered target rates
or by using rates from a variable rate
prescription file. The system uses a flow
meter signal and speed input from a
radar or GPS receiver. DirectCommand
can read up to three optional pressure
sensors, eliminating the need to monitor
pressure gauges outside the cab.
Data Logging
DirectCommand automatically records
application activities, including applied
areas, product volume and more. This
information can be easily downloaded
into SMS software for analysis. Using
this information can help accurately
calculate input needs for the
following year.
Variable Rate Application
DirectCommand allows the variable rate
application of single or multiple products.
The system controls application rates of liquid
and granular products automatically based on
geo-referenced prescription maps. Variable
rate application is available for all supported
equipment types including spinner spreaders,
self-propelled and pull-type sprayers, anhydrous
applicators and strip-till toolbars.
DirectCommand has simply revolutionized application.
The unique AutoSwath feature decreases overapplication –
saving input costs and improving environmental stewardship.
DirectCommand offers complete control over liquid or granular
applications, while at the same time logging data and providing
real-time application mapping capabilities.

DirectCommand™
How OptRx Works
• OptRx crop sensors are installed across the application boom.
• Emitting their own light source, the sensors measure crop vigor based
on plant mass and light reflectivity readings.
• The Vegetation Index (VI) is calculated based on field data from the
	 initial sensor calibration.
• Using the VI, DirectCommand applies nitrogen at variable rates
on-the-fly based on real-time crop readings.
Rate Table
OptRx crop sensors are ideal for applying fertilizers, pesticides,
defoliants, growth regulators and other agrochemicals – on-the-go at the
rates necessary for optimum performance. Working with an agronomist
or crop consultant, select a Vegetation Index range and assign the
recommended rates based on the range chosen.
OptRx Benefits:
• Reduce application of nitrogen in nitrogen-rich areas.
• Increase yield potential in nitrogen-poor areas of the field.
• Record crop vigor variation data across the field.
• Balance the affects of organic material variability across the field.
• Improve yield potential for crops harmed by denitrification due to poor drainage.

For optimum results, nitrogen should be
sidedressed after V5 using a high-clearance
nitrogen toolbar or high-clearance sprayer
equipped with drop hoses.
Wheat
The ideal application window for topdressing
wheat is when the crop is between tillering and
stem elongation growth stages. Any equipment
capable of topdressing the crop will work.
The Causes of Nitrogen Variability
Organic Material
Organic material is one of the most
significant sources of nitrogen in the soil.
The more organic matter present, the more
nitrogen the soil produces. Because organic
matter can vary with different soil types,
nitrogen availability in the soil can vary
greatly across the field.
Denitrification
Denitrification occurs as a result of poor
drainage and uneven moisture distribution
across the field. In standing water, nitrogen
in the soil changes into a gas and is lost to
the air, leaving soil in some areas of the field
nitrogen deficient. Denitrification can cause a
loss of 5 percent of nitrogen per day, causing
significant variation across the field.

“I really like that I can instantly see
the yields as I go across the field.
The display is dead-accurate. I also
like that I can track varieties across
the field so I know which ones did
better in different areas. The color-
coded harvest maps are helpful to
find old or unknown tile lines, and to
identify terraces in the field. I’m very
pleased with the use of my
Ag Leader Integra display for
harvesting this year!”

YieldMonitoring
Yield Monitoring
Yield Monitoring Benefits:
• Improve understanding of seed types and other field activities on yield.
• Collect more accurate yield data.
• View real-time yield comparisons.
• Improve hybrid/variety selections based on field yield data.
• Make storage decisions based on moisture readings in the field.
FEATURES
Ag Leader provides the most widely used grain yield
monitoring technology in the world. Create and view yield and
moisture maps while harvesting and instantly observe how field
conditions affect yield.
2013P r o d u c t C ata l o g
Information on both yield and moisture from the
sensors is recorded by the Ag Leader Integra or
Versa display mounted in the cab.
Grain is fed into the harvester’s elevator where sensors
read the moisture content of the grain.
As the grain is delivered to the holding tank, the
mass flow sensor monitors yield.

“For more than 50 years, we have
had tile installed on our farm. We
started doing the tiling ourselves
in 2002 after purchasing the tile
plow. In March 2011, we added the
Intellislope and since have used it
on several thousand feet. With the
ability to survey ahead of time with
the Intellislope, the tiling process
is more efficient. We can tile so
much more and do a better job of
installing with the Intellislope. It has
been one of the better purchases we
have made in some time.”
Steve Berger, Wellman, IA
Intellislope
TM
Intellislope Benefits
• Increase field operation windows and reduce field compaction.
• Reduce yield-robbing affects of denitrification due to poor drainage.
• Provide deeper root zone and earlier soil warm up for better crop development.
• Eliminate hassles associated with laser surveying equipment/services.
• Do-it-yourself tile planning, recording and installation.
• Tile on your schedule with equipment you already own.

WaterManagement
Plan
Enter the desired minimum/maximum and
target depths, as well as the minimum grade
to drain excess water from the field. This
can be done in the field or with the SMS
Advanced Water Management Module.
Install
Use the plan you created to install tile using
AutoTile™ to adjust the depth of the plow
automatically. You can also use Grade control or
Pitch control modes as needed.
Survey
Can be done ahead of time with an ATV, or
at the time of installation with the tile plow
utilizing RTK GPS. Collect surveys by driving
over the path where tile needs to be placed to
collect the surface elevation.
AutoTile™
Millions of feet of installed tile prove how well
AutoTile works to keep tile on grade. A three-
step process to Survey, Plan, and Install the tile
is as simple as it sounds. The system now has
the added benefit of Roll correction to keep the
tile depth at the desired level on side slopes.
Tile Line Recording
Importing survey and installed tile data from
the Ag Leader Integra display to SMS software
provides a seamless way to manage and track
improvements in crop yield where tile has been
installed. Track main, sub-main and laterals,
as well as the amount of tile installed.
Guidance
As surveys are collected, a guidance line is created with the survey.
When the survey is loaded for installation, manual guidance is
automatically provided to ensure that the tile is placed where the
survey was recorded.
Water management is an important part of maximizing yield.
Properly-tiled fields can lengthen planting windows, promote better root
development, reduce field compaction, increase nutrient accessibility
and improve consistency of crop emergence. The Intellislope tile plow
control system makes installing tile easy, eliminating the need for
complicated laser surveying equipment. If you can drive a tractor, you
can install drainage tile with Intellislope.

“Our yields have increased
dramatically - 30 percent in some
areas. By applying the needed
nutrients to the low testing areas of
the field, it has raised the yield in
those spots by 35 to 45 bushels/
acre, which has helped our overall
field average immensely. When you
multiply the increase by $6, that is
a good return.”

  • 5. “There is no doubt we are saving diesel when performing field operations, but most importantly we are saving time, and time is money when you are farming. The best thing about ParaDyme is being able to save guidance patterns when rowing up and return to those lines to plant, apply fertilizer, and spray.” Chad Swindoll, Tutwiler, MS w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m GuidanceandSteering Guidance and Steering Guidance and Steering Benefits: • Reduce fatigue and increase field working windows. • Reduce gaps and overlaps that can increase input costs and reduce yield potential. • More accurately deliver fertilizer directly to the seed trench. • Works with any color of equipment and can easily be switched between vehicles. • Choose your required level of accuracy – even to sub-inch. • 6. w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m GuidanceandSteering Guidance and Steering Remote Technical Service Get customer service from any location. When you use the remote service feature, ParaDyme or GeoSteer can be accessed remotely to diagnose the situation in real-time so that you can achieve maximum efficiency in the field. High Accuracy Access to RTK, with either RTK radio or via built-in cell modem, allows easy access to CORS and other RTK networks. Data plans for RTK network access are available directly from Ag Leader. Compatibility ParaDyme and GeoSteer support WAAS/EGNOS, OmniSTAR XP/HP, RTK and GLONASS satellites. Simple. Economical. Accurate. Designed to meet the steering needs required for small grain crops and emerging markets, GeoSteer bridges the gap between expensive, full-featured systems and less costly systems that don’t provide the necessary functionality or level of precision desired. GPS Differential Correction GEOSTEER PARADYME WAAS/EGNOS OmniSTAR XP/HP/VBS RTK 2013P r o d u c t C ata l o g Advanced Guidance Patterns Supports the most common and advanced guidance patterns, including SmartPath (see page 13 for guidance patterns supported). Flex Mode Maintain accurate steering with Flex Mode – even when your signal is temporarily lost – by automatically transitioning to a differential signal. When the better signal is restored, the system will transition back to the higher accuracy mode. Auto-Calibration Auto-calibration through the Ag Leader Integra and Versa displays makes ParaDyme or GeoSteer installation simple – even when moving it from vehicle to vehicle. FEATURES FEATURES Not all automated steering systems are created equal. In fact, if you want sub-inch accuracy, simple setup and technical support troubleshooting from a remote location, you won’t find a system that is ParaDyme’s equal. And, if your field operations require high accuracy at very low operating speeds (for example, specialty crops), you won’t find a better option. High Accuracy Even at Low Speed ParaDyme is the choice for operations that require ultra-low speed operation (as slow as 0.05 mph). Its dual-antenna GNSS steering solution provides accuracy within 1/10th of a degree – even when not moving. This makes it the ideal steering system for hipping, planting or harvesting bedded crops, installing drip tape or planting and harvesting specialty crops. Proven Technology ParaDyme’s field-proven technology supports more than 700 different vehicles, including floaters, sprayers, tile plows and other specialty equipment. • 9. w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m “Thanks to Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force system, we got our beans consistently planted in moist soil; and didn’t have to replant anything. We probably had a 90 to 95 percent stand on all the soybeans.” Erik Grudle, Percival, Iowa SeedCommand Benefits: • Elimination of overplanting means lower seed costs and improved yields. • Night planting lengthens planting windows. • Reduced skips and doubles – especially with variable seed shapes and sizes. • Documented planting data for simple reporting requirements. • Maximized yield through variable rate planting. Hybrid/Variety Mapping SeedCommand records planting operations in real-time, mapping the location of each hybrid/variety planted. Compare observed planting maps/data with yield maps to make accurate, reliable decisions to improve seed selection and increase future profitability. Variable Rate Planting Control seed costs and improve yield potential across the entire field with variable rate planting. SeedCommand varies the seeding rate based on prescription maps to match seeding rates to soil potential. SeedCommand™ Data Logging Record variable seeding rates, variable fertilizer application and generate field maps that can be used to provide better planting insights. AutoSwath Automatically turn planter clutches or vacuum meters on/off based on field maps and already-planted areas. Enhanced Calibration Automated calibration routines and stored calibrations make setup easy and seamless – even when using multiple products. Hydraulic Down Force Controlling a planter’s down force is a proven way to improve consistent emergence across the field and increase yield. Ag Leader Hydraulic Down Force system drastically improves on air bag down force systems, providing instant response to changing soil and field conditions that can’t be accomplished with air bag systems. Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force system ensures seeds are planted at the proper depth by instantly adjusting to changes in soil types. FOR PLANTERS FOR AIR CART SEEDERS Compatibility/Drive Types Supported Supports bin-level and fan speed sensors as well as main and individual meter circuit clutches on ground drive air seeder carts with linear actuator control. Drive Types Supported • Ground Drive - Clutches - Linear Actuator • Hydraulic Drive - PWM Valve - Servo Valve Select models of electric drives are supported, as well. Two channels allow the down force to be adjusted separately on the planter wings compared to the center section of the planter where there is more soil compaction. This is a big advantage over air bag systems that average downforce across the entire toolbar. 2013P r o d u c t C ata l o g Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force system adjusts pressure instantly in changing soil types without the inconsistency created by pneumatic systems that respond over a longer period of time (and land). It could take a air bag system up to 20 seconds to inflate enough to create the proper down force, compared to one second with Ag Leader’s Hydraulic Down Force system. The difference? A quarter acre using a 24-row planter. • Choose higher-yielding seed based on historical yield performance. • Generate variable rate seed prescriptions. • Layer planting and harvest maps to easily compare seed performance. • Map seed varieties, planting rates, planting dates and other items recorded during planting or seeding. • 11. w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m “Most of my main farm is rotated between cotton and peanuts. There’s a herbicide that is used on peanuts that can cause problems with cotton, causing the plants to be stunted where the sprayer was overlapping on the ends and points. Once I put DirectCommand on the sprayer, the AutoSwath function helped to cut down on this a lot. In addition, it also reduces fatigue. We’ve got an 80-foot boom on the sprayer, yet we’ve got a lot of small fields. So we’d always be watching the booms and flipping switches. With DirectCommand, we just set it up and go.” Jason Strock, Orangeburg County, SC DirectCommand Benefits: • Eliminate overapplication, overlap, spray drift and application gaps that increase input costs and decrease yield potential. • Lengthen application windows during application operations. • Reduce fuel costs and field compaction by applying multiple products at one time. • Increase yield potential and better target product application through crop sensing and prescription application strategies. • Document all field application data and provide simple reporting. AutoSwath for Sprayers DirectCommand’s AutoSwath feature reduces overapplication and product waste by automatically turning the applicator (liquid or granular) on/off based on field boundaries and already-applied areas as it passes over the field. The system reduces input costs and increases application accuracy by minimizing skips and overlaps at end rows, fence rows and along waterways. AutoSwath for Spreaders DirectCommand simplifies spreader control by controlling the conveyor spinner speed, in addition to monitoring the bin level. The system reads ground speed and automatically adjusts product flow to match target application rate. DirectCommand control modules support PWM, motorized servo, Mark IV.2, Mark IV.4 and Mark V hydraulic control valves. DirectCommand supports application control of multiple bin spinner spreaders. FEATURES Rate Control DirectCommand continuously controls, adjusts and records field application based on manually entered target rates or by using rates from a variable rate prescription file. The system uses a flow meter signal and speed input from a radar or GPS receiver. DirectCommand can read up to three optional pressure sensors, eliminating the need to monitor pressure gauges outside the cab. Data Logging DirectCommand automatically records application activities, including applied areas, product volume and more. This information can be easily downloaded into SMS software for analysis. Using this information can help accurately calculate input needs for the following year. Variable Rate Application DirectCommand allows the variable rate application of single or multiple products. The system controls application rates of liquid and granular products automatically based on geo-referenced prescription maps. Variable rate application is available for all supported equipment types including spinner spreaders, self-propelled and pull-type sprayers, anhydrous applicators and strip-till toolbars. DirectCommand has simply revolutionized application. The unique AutoSwath feature decreases overapplication – saving input costs and improving environmental stewardship. • 13. “We use OptRx to try to get our nitrogen down in a timely fashion. We are no-till farmers and do a split application of anhydrous in the fall and urea in June around V8 on the corn. When we variable rate spread based on the readings from the OptRx, we are able to put the nitrogen where it needs to be.” Eric Godwin – Field Data Technician, Prime Meridian, MO w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m DirectCommand™ How OptRx Works • OptRx crop sensors are installed across the application boom. • Emitting their own light source, the sensors measure crop vigor based on plant mass and light reflectivity readings. • The Vegetation Index (VI) is calculated based on field data from the initial sensor calibration. • Using the VI, DirectCommand applies nitrogen at variable rates on-the-fly based on real-time crop readings. Rate Table OptRx crop sensors are ideal for applying fertilizers, pesticides, defoliants, growth regulators and other agrochemicals – on-the-go at the rates necessary for optimum performance. Working with an agronomist or crop consultant, select a Vegetation Index range and assign the recommended rates based on the range chosen. OptRx Benefits: • Reduce application of nitrogen in nitrogen-rich areas. • Increase yield potential in nitrogen-poor areas of the field. • Record crop vigor variation data across the field. • Balance the affects of organic material variability across the field. • Improve yield potential for crops harmed by denitrification due to poor drainage. When to Use OptRx Corn For optimum results, nitrogen should be sidedressed after V5 using a high-clearance nitrogen toolbar or high-clearance sprayer equipped with drop hoses. Wheat The ideal application window for topdressing wheat is when the crop is between tillering and stem elongation growth stages. Any equipment capable of topdressing the crop will work. The Causes of Nitrogen Variability Organic Material Organic material is one of the most significant sources of nitrogen in the soil. The more organic matter present, the more nitrogen the soil produces. Because organic matter can vary with different soil types, nitrogen availability in the soil can vary greatly across the field. Denitrification Denitrification occurs as a result of poor drainage and uneven moisture distribution across the field. In standing water, nitrogen in the soil changes into a gas and is lost to the air, leaving soil in some areas of the field nitrogen deficient. Denitrification can cause a loss of 5 percent of nitrogen per day, causing significant variation across the field. Cost of additional Nitrogen applied 31 pounds x 100 acres x $.60 per pound $1,860 $3,640 increased profit over 100 acres. Value from increased yield 11 bushels x $5 corn x 100 acres $5,500 The Math: To learn more about OptRx and see other real life examples of OptRx used in both corn and wheat, visit agleader.com/products/directcommand/optrx/ FEATURES OptRx Crop Sensor The use of crop sensing technology in grains, cereals and other production ag crops is one technique to increase plant health and yield potential. • 16. “For more than 50 years, we have had tile installed on our farm. We started doing the tiling ourselves in 2002 after purchasing the tile plow. In March 2011, we added the Intellislope and since have used it on several thousand feet. With the ability to survey ahead of time with the Intellislope, the tiling process is more efficient. We can tile so much more and do a better job of installing with the Intellislope. It has been one of the better purchases we have made in some time.” Steve Berger, Wellman, IA Intellislope TM Intellislope Benefits • Increase field operation windows and reduce field compaction. • Reduce yield-robbing affects of denitrification due to poor drainage. • Provide deeper root zone and earlier soil warm up for better crop development. • Eliminate hassles associated with laser surveying equipment/services. • Do-it-yourself tile planning, recording and installation. • Tile on your schedule with equipment you already own. w w w . a g l e a d e r . c o m WaterManagement Plan Enter the desired minimum/maximum and target depths, as well as the minimum grade to drain excess water from the field. This can be done in the field or with the SMS Advanced Water Management Module. Install Use the plan you created to install tile using AutoTile™ to adjust the depth of the plow automatically. You can also use Grade control or Pitch control modes as needed. Survey Can be done ahead of time with an ATV, or at the time of installation with the tile plow utilizing RTK GPS. Collect surveys by driving over the path where tile needs to be placed to collect the surface elevation. AutoTile™ Millions of feet of installed tile prove how well AutoTile works to keep tile on grade. A three- step process to Survey, Plan, and Install the tile is as simple as it sounds. The system now has the added benefit of Roll correction to keep the tile depth at the desired level on side slopes. Tile Line Recording Importing survey and installed tile data from the Ag Leader Integra display to SMS software provides a seamless way to manage and track improvements in crop yield where tile has been installed. Track main, sub-main and laterals, as well as the amount of tile installed. Guidance As surveys are collected, a guidance line is created with the survey. When the survey is loaded for installation, manual guidance is automatically provided to ensure that the tile is placed where the survey was recorded. Water management is an important part of maximizing yield. Properly-tiled fields can lengthen planting windows, promote better root development, reduce field compaction, increase nutrient accessibility and improve consistency of crop emergence. The Intellislope tile plow control system makes installing tile easy, eliminating the need for complicated laser surveying equipment.
