This experiment tested the effect of exposing radish plants to alcohol by measuring peroxidase levels. One plant was watered with a mixture of 3/4 cup alcohol and 1/4 cup water, while the control used only water. Testing found that peroxidase levels were higher in the plant exposed to alcohol compared to the control plant watered with only water. This supports the hypothesis that exposing plants to alcohol causes higher peroxidase production, likely as a stress response. Peroxidase is involved in cell wall formation, so increased levels could help strengthen plant stems to prevent breaking under their own weight.
