Camera Shots – What shots are used and why?
Media shots are mainly used in this advert as they are able to
show both of the famous meerkats. They can then also their
surrounding making the advert seem more real.
Mise-en-scene (What colours, sets and props are used? Why?)
The mise-en-scene of this advert is the ‘geeky’ Meerkat trying to lose
weight. This is because the surroundings are in quite darks colours
whereas the meerkat is dressed in white.
Advertising Techniques – What techniques are used and why?
The advertising technique is a mix between ‘Ethos’ and ‘lothos’ as the
characters create a personality for themselves that the audience will
relate to however, in this advert people already have a view on the
characters and understand what their moral background is.
Narrative – What is the story of the ad, characters, settings, conflicts, resolutions
The two meerkats decide to help the ‘Geeky’ one get into shape
as their toy is shown to be fit and healthy. It shows the before
during and after of the workout.
Target Audience – Who is the product for?
The target audience of the service that is being sold is for adults who
need insurance on anything, whereas the advert is likely to attract
children who will want the free toy that is given away.
Sounds - What can you hear?
There is not much background music as the advert is meant to seem
as real as possible.
