1. VACANCY
JOB TITLE: MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT.
REPORTS TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR.
JOB PURPOSE: To maintain an effective business control frame work,
generate management, group & statutory accounts and supervise Finance
control activities.
Essential Duties.
a) Develop, periodically review, update and ensure consistent adherence
to business internal control policies and procedures and their
effectiveness across the organization.
b) Co-ordinate and ensure smooth statutory Audit exercise by providing
necessary schedules & reconciliations; contact with staff required by the
Auditors & compilation of management response to Audit Findings.
c) Tax planning and management and its subsidiaries and manage the
relations with Uganda Revenue Authority
d) Ensure the integrity of Finance Systems and chart of accounts though
constant review & updates.
e) Supervision of payments processing and controls for suppliers and staff.
f) Follow up on Finance control issues raised in various audits and
inspections and ensure agreed action items are implemented on a
timely basis.
g) Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
h) Manage inter-company transactions between the Head office and its
branches.
i) Prepare consolidated company accounts on a monthly basis.
j) Coordinate year end stock takes and ensure that it is witnessed by
Auditors.
k) Coordination of smooth finance transactions processing, check for
accuracy, and posting on a timely basis.
l) Provide guidance, specialist finance advice, in-depth analysis & support
to management on business control principles.
Qualifications and attributes.
a) Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Economics
or any relevant Degree.
b) Professional Membership (ACCA, CPA, CMA)
c) 5-8 years working experience in a busy organization with in-depth
knowledge of controls framework and tax management.
d) Knowledge of Uganda tax laws.
e) Must also demonstrate exceptionally strong analytical skills, having
an ability to analyze, refine, summarize, and clearly present data and
information.
f) Excellent IT skills with a good understanding of MS applications, selling
and inventory systems.
g) Knowledge of Integrated Planning and budgeting.
h) High degree of professionalism.
i) Strong and demonstrable skills in personal effectiveness.
j) Fluency in spoken/written English.
