Adolescent’s:
Adolescence refers to the period of a young person’s life between
the ages 10 and 19yrs. [WHO]
Growth:
Growth is a gradual increase in a child or part of a child.
Development:
Development is gradual acquisition of a variety of skills, such as
head support, speaking, learning, emotional expression, and
relationships with others.
3. Adolescent :
Adolescence is a period of both risk and opportunity.
Adolescents may take risks that can jeopardize their health and
during these early years, as well as contribute to the leading
causes of death and disease in adulthood. During adolescence,
a range of health conditions can be identified and addressed in
ways that affect not only adolescents functioning and
opportunities, but also the quality of their adult lives.
Adolescence also provides many opportunities to develop
habits that create a strong foundation for healthy lifestyles and
behavior over the full life span.
4. Status of Adolescent’s:
Motor vehicle crashes, homicide, & suicide, rather than
infectious or chronic diseases, are the leading causes of
mortality among adolescents.
The prevalence of asthma and diabetes, two common
chronic illness in adolescents, has increased in recent years.
Between 10 & 20 percent of adolescents are affected
annually by mental disorders, and half of all cases of adult
lifetime mental disorders start by age 14. The most
common mental health disorder in adolescence is anxiety.

independency, and other adult responsibilities.

toward life.

There are some important things to help increase a
teen’s identify. First, help identify areas of interest. Every
teenager has a particular area of interest areas where
they are excel. Whether it is an athletics, music, school,
art, or organization, help teen to identify his area of
competence. Second, provide praise and
encouragement. It is vital that teenagers receive praise
and encouragement from parents or other influential
adults.

A mental can be a powerful force as teens develop convictions because
“outside instruction” can make a special impression on their lives.
