Responsible for ensuring efficientoperations in the marine terminals, port productivity, inland depot operations,
intermodal operations and setting company standards and criteria without compromising safety and security.
Making sure efficiencyis met within the stipulated annual budget and recommends methods for cost reduction.
Presently in charge of the Latin America and the Caribbean region, previously west coast USA and while in the
headquarters for Europe and Asia.
I build good relationship with the vessel masters and crew in order to obtain their best cooperation for the
company’s benefit.
Networkand scheduling
While domiciled at HQ Marseille, I was constructing service proformas that met the voyage budget, efficient
operations in combination with decent service buffers for the Far East Europe services.
Other contributing factors taken in the proforma are speed(consumption), customer’s cargo readiness, berth
windows, canal transits and transshipment connections.
In the present role, I am recommendingeffective proforma that meets the regional needsand directly negotiation
berth windows with the terminal operators, namely ICTSI,SSA, DP World , APMT and public terminals.
My service profomas are designed to targets a vessel utilization factor of 105% and good coastal planning to keepthe
vessel on schedule.

While domiciled at HQ Marseille, I was managing 7 far East Europe services, out of which 33 vessels are managedby
CMA CGM and 7 partners vessels (APL and China Shipping)
Deal with partners on daily basis with regards to port cut offs, omissions, space swapping and allocations.

Port and terminal operations are one of my key areas of expertise,in dealing with the vendors, spot negotiations,
obtaining storage & transshipment waivers, assist our Global procurement in the stevedoring negotiations and
contracts.
I maintain and build a good relationship with our vendors and suppliers in a professional approach and manner.
2. External feederservices
In the present role, for logistical reasons, I am dealing mainly with Xpress feedersand CFS as our 3rd
party feeder
operators due to their fleet size.I have utilized SIMATECHshipping on a spot basis.
I negotiate the best rate basis on economy of scale.
StrategicRecommendations
Upon everyport and terminal visit, I usually write a minimum of 20 page report with recommendations and
suggestions for service optimization, reducingoperating cost and improving productivity
Upon discussion with the higher management and my team, we execute ourrecommendations in a transparent
manner.
Operatingcost
As part of my KPI, an annual budget is drafted basis on the volumes and fleet size.Up to today, most of the goals in
the KPI are met unless of a port strike or in particular bad weather causing vessel delays and port closure.
Making sure proper stowage planning taking into account of evenly distributed crane split factor and minimized
restows must be assessed for optimized voyage performance.
Charteringandsaleoftonnage
I deal with the chartering department on proper vessel selection basis on the trade need,consumption, utilization
factor and vessel safety condition. I also attend and speak in conferencesrelating to maritime technology, maritime
safety, and port operations.
In a nutshell,my core value to the organization willbe my contribution in reducingthe Fleet operating budget,
vesselvoyage cost, efficiency, safe port operations (evenmidstream vessel operations) building bridgeswith our
suppliersand vendors alike and importantly furnish a good and fair management to my directreports so as to
