Ben Walker
Ringwood School
Actors
• Ben Walker (Detective Sergeant Rob Matthews) – I will play the first Detective in my
film. I believe that using myself will work well because I am a mature and responsible person who
has a passion for the Police. I understand and know more about the Police than most and
therefore will be able to play a convincing Detective Sergeant (DS).
• Charlie Round (Detective Sergeant Scott Roberts) – I will use Charlie as my second
DS because he is a very good actor and can convincing play a variety of character. Secondly, he is a
very good friend of mine and therefore him and I will be able to play partners as well as friends,
very well.
• Matt Raybould (Detective on the Radio/In Car) – I will use Matt as my other
Detective because as well as being of a reasonable build which fits with the Police Officer role, he
is a fellow media student and this will benefit me when it comes to filming and deciding certain
shots. The same applies to Charlie Round and Ben Anderson. Also, Matt is a friend of Charlie and
myself and therefore we will be able to interact well during the film.
• Ben Anderson (Suspect) – The suspect is a non speaking roll. I have chosen Ben for this role
because he has ease of access to my location and is willing to play the role of the criminal. He has
very short hair which is stereotypically a criminal’s haircut. He will be wearing casual clothes, walk
across a car park and get into a car.
Location - Exterior
Car Park:
The car park used in my film is outside the
apartment I am using. The car park fits my film
because it is long, thin and has a door with easy
access to it (shown on image). This means that
my suspect will exit the building he is in through
this door, walk to his car, get in it and drive down
the car park and out of the exit at the base of the
image. This car park is perfect because it allows
the potential for good shots of the car driving
out of the car park and also it will be easy to
have the police car pull across the end of the car
park to stop the suspect leaving.
Costume
Due to the context of what I am filming, I will
put my two main Detectives in casual attire like
Hoodies, Jeans and Jackets. This purely so they
will blend in with the environment around them
and so suspicion would not be raised as to the
reason why they are in and around the apartment.
The third officer in the car outside will be wearing
similar clothing. My suspect will be dressed casually,
but not too casually. He owns a nice car (BMW) so
he will not be a low life nobody type of character,
I want him to be at least reasonably well dressed.
I need my officers to seem as though they are just
blending into society so having them dresses in the
casual attire makes them blend in more than I they
were openly wearing smart clothes like shirts and
stab vests.
Props I
Police Warrant Card/Hand cuff Holster – The two Detectives in my
film will both be wearing a lanyard and Police Warrant Card underneath their
hoodies, once the audience know the two are Police Officers, the IDs will
become more clear and obvious. The same applies to the Hand cuff holster
which once the two Detectives are sat down, one will remove their hoodie to
reveal the holster.
Radios – Two Police Radios will be used by the two detective in the apartment
and by the officer with the other radio who is sat the car watching the suspect. The
radios will be used by the officers communicating, once the suspect has been seen,
until the end where he is blocked off.
Props II
Sandwich – A sandwich will be thrown by RM to SR just after RM arrives back to the apartment at
the beginning of my film. The sandwich, as small as it may seem, plays a vital role in my film
beginning. This is because the understanding Rob has of Scott and which flavour of sandwich he likes
shows the audience that the two are good friends as well as partners. This then gives the audience
the foundation for the rest of what would be a full film after my beginning, to understand the
relationship between the two.
Vehicles x2 – One vehicle (BMW 1 Series) will be used at the getaway car for the suspect and the
other vehicle (Audi A5) will be used as an unmarked Police vehicle used to block off the suspect. The
Audi is a more slick and smart looking vehicle so this is why I will use it as the unmarked Police car.
Furthermore, it has a lovely engine sound so when it has to accelerate to block off the suspect, I will
get some great audio from it. Secondly, the suspects vehicle (BMW) is being used because my
suspect is of a reasonable class and is not a low life so I do not want him in a low quality car.
Therefore I am giving my suspect a nice car like this BMW. The may also be other random vehicles in
the car park due to the location that I am filming in being a residential area.
