• "Wiki" (pronounced ˈwiti or ˈviti) is a Hawaiian word
meaning "fast" or "quick". (Hasan, Heather,2012)
• Hyper Text Markup Language
• the main markup language for creating web pages and other

information that can be displayed in a web browser.
• HTML is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of
tags enclosed in angle brackets (like <html>), within the web
page content.
Podcast
• Also called Netcast.
• a digital audio file made available on the Internet for
downloading to a computer or portable media player,
typically available as a seriesmerchan
Social Bookmarking

• “A centralized online service which enables users to add, annotate,
edit, and share bookmarks of web documents.” (Noll, Michael
G.,2007).
• Launched since: 1996
• Delicious (founded in 2003) popularized the term “social
bookmarking” and “tagging”.
Online Chat
• A kind of communication that offers a real-time
transmission of text messages from sender to receiver.
• The messages sent are usually short so that the users can
communicate instantly.
• Voice over Internet Protocol
• a methodology and group of technologies for the delivery of voice
communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol

(IP) networks, such as the Internet
Blog
• A website where an individual can post or share his
journals, discoveries and etc.
Social Networking
• A social structure made up of a set of social actors (such as
individuals or organizations) and a set of the dyadic ties

between these actors.
WWW
• World Wide Web
• a system of interlinked hypertext documents

accessed via the Internet.
URL
• An Internet address usually consisting of the access
protocol (http), the domain name (www.hmco.com), and
optionally the path to a file or resource residing on that
server (trade).
• Uniform Resource Locator
Streaming
• relating to or being the transfer of data (as audio or video
material) in a continuous stream especially for

immediate processing or playback
Web Feed
• Also known as News Feed
• a data format used for providing users with frequently
updated content. Content distributors syndicate a web
feed, thereby allowing users to subscribe to it.
