ACTIVITY 2 (Low Achiever Students)
Learning Outcomes :
To compare volume of liquids.
Materials :
Ms Power Point Presentation
Small whiteboards and markers
Mineral bottle
Cup
Jar
Bowl
A pail of water
Procedures :
1. Students look at the Ms Power Point Presentation pertaining the topic (Volume Of
Liquid).
2. Students are divided into groups of four and have them work in their cooperative
groups.
3. One student in the group will be appointed as a recorder.
4. Each group is given a set of containers consist of mineral bottle, bowl, jar, a pail of
water and 5 cups.
5. The students are asked to estimate how many cups of water can hold the capacity of
the bottle, bowl and the jar.
6. Record the estimation in the table given.
7. Have the students do the activity to check their estimation. Students pour water from
each container into the cups. Count how many cups are needed.
8. Each group record their findings in the following table :

9. Students are asked to answer the questions below (write the answers on the
whiteboard) :
a. Which container holds the most volume of liquid ?

b. Which container holds the least volume of liquid ?

10. Students arrange the containers in sequence (draw the diagram on the whiteboard) :
LEAST MOST
11. Winner will be awarded prizes.
12. Worksheets (Teaching Aids 2) will be distributed to each student. Teacher guides on
how to complete the exercise.
