This document provides exercises to identify and classify different types of phrases in sentences. The first exercise asks to locate and underline prepositional phrases, identify the preposition and its object. The second exercise asks to underline adverbial phrases and identify what question they answer - when, where, how or how much. In total there are 10 sentences provided to practice identifying prepositional and adverbial phrases.

preposition (prep) and its object (obj).

2. She hit the ball over the fence.
3. The look in his eye was fierce.
