The Acropolis is an ancient fortified citadel located on a hill above Athens, Greece. It contained important temples and buildings like the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion that were built during the rule of Pericles in the 5th century BC. Many of these structures have since undergone restoration work.
