Accedo 2.0 Virtual Community for people with intellectual disability
What is Accedo 2.0? It’s a 20 month long program, from 2009 to 2011, developed for creating and testing a  virtual community  with social networking features, designed under  accessibility and usability  criteria and to be used by  mild intellectual disability  people.  It is funded  by Advance 2 Plans  of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
Goals Improving access to  ICT  (Information and Communication Technologies) of people with disabilities.  Enhance  communication  and the use made of the Internet by people with intellectual disabilities.  Improve the  accessibility  of web 2.0 on the Internet.  Facilitate the  social integration  of people with disabilities.
Who is involved? Esplai Foundation  in Barcelona,  UNED  in Madrid and  FASAD  in Gijon as program developers and managers with the support of 8 entities from 7 different Spanish regions that launch  pilot testing  of the community.

Program’s stages Stage 1 Needs analysis with and audit online tool. 8 collaborators selection for the pilot phase. Equipment and training for collaborators Stage 2 Community development. Community implementation and pilot testing through 6 months. Project tracking and analysis. Stage 3 Launching and facilitation of the open community.
Esplai Foundation promotes several citizenship e-inclusion projects Facilitation and coordination  processes on Spanish networks (Red Conecta, Conecta Joven, Xarxa Òmnia) Employability  towards ICT and professional profile definition of telecentre facilitators on Europe (Telecentre Europe) Functional diversity  and ICT (Accesibles Telecentres, Disability and ICT training, Accedo 2.0) E-learning  for social and digital facilitators. Methodology 2.0  as a strategy for the social, professional and educational use of technology.
