1. Abstract
My second grade class is made up of 24 students, with14 girls and 10 boys. All of the students
in the class are from lower SES homes. Several of the students have minor learning disabilities,
and many of them are below grade level in reading. I will utilize technology in order to teach
and review the place values of the following: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands,
hundred thousands, and millions. Assessments will be based on teacher's observation, the
review of students' work, and student participation; formal exams will not be given. Students
will learn through Youtube videos, a WebQuest, a blog, a class Facebook page, a Twitter
account, Second Life, a Podcast, and visual aids.
