OUR VISION
Nat u r al . Ch ic . Fu n. This is how Shubha would describe her makeup philosophy!
Being the creative type, Shubha always had a penchant for makeup and styling.
She pursued Fashion Media Makeup at Pearl Academyin Delhi where she got professional
training in traditional and contemporary makeup/styling.
For Shubha, makeup is not about giving someone another face but enhancing one's features
without going overboard. She wouldn't dream of changing someone's skin color. Rather,
she strives to make people look the best versions of themselves.
For her, makeup is a form of expression and she wants to use colors and hues to make
people happy and tell their story. Keeping in mind the overall styling and balance is
important to her.
While she likes all kinds of makeup, she has a special interest in fashion makeup and likes
staying on top of latest techniques and products. She also enjoys working as a team with
other creative types - makeup artists/designers/photographers.
I am an Internationally trained Makeup Artist certified in high Fashion, Party, Bridal, HD and
Airbrush. I believe in identifying skin type complexion and personal style of my clients as a
part of my consulting and grooming. I use different high-end products from brands like Mac,
Makeup Forever, Inglot, Armani, Dior, Chanel, Benefit cosmetics, Clarins, Clinique, Ben Nye,

Namrata Soni, a renowned makeup artist, with an exceptional and unique style has reached
audiences in a range of mediums, from magazine covers to feature films and Ad films.
Her works have featured in the world’s top publications including: Vogue, Lofficiel, Elle,
Harpers bazar, Wallpaper magazine, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Femina, etc. Namrata has
also worked on various feature films including: Om Shanti Om, Kabhi Alvidha Aa Kehna,
Musafir, Main Hoon Na, Janemaan, Emi, Salaam Namaste , Aisha , I Hate Love Stories …
4. Namrata has received the prestigious International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award for her
ageing make-up design for the award winning film, Om Shanti Om. She has also been
nominated for the best makeup artist at the IIFA for her work in Aisha and i hate love stories
. She is the most sought after makeup artist by celebrities such as Shahrukh Khan, Sonam
kapoor ,Deepika padukone , Sonakshi sinha , Malaika Arora Khan, Preity Zinta, Tabu, Salman
Khan, Arjun Rampal, Asin ,Shruti hassan and more… .
Namrata’s approach to style is simple: “I’m all about using the right products in the right
places to highlight a person’s best features and natural beauty.” As her work in Om Shanti
Om demonstrates she has a unique talent in character-make up as well.
Lately, it seems like the more advanced we become as women, the more insecure we feel
about the way we look. Women are always pointing out their flaws to me hoping I can make
them go away with make-up. they only see what is “wrong” with them trying to achieve
someone else’s idea of perfection. instead of looking for what to correct, I focus on bringing
out their best features.
I apply makeup like a watercolor painting, using sheer washes of color, allowing the skin and
a woman’s special loveliness to shine through. For this, I use the right products in the right
places to enhance natural beauty. I don’t use products because they are “the latest trend”
but because they are the best product for the individual.
I believe looking good starts and ends with feeling beautiful from within. Make-up is simply
a reflection of that beauty.
Embrace it.
Celebrate it.
And work it!
Namrata’s do and donts for makeup
Have you fallen into a makeup rut? You know you want a new look, but you keeping coming
back to the same old routines? Change can be challenging. But switching gears and
emphasizing your best features in new ways can be positively thrilling.
The most important thing is your skin.
Radiant skin is the key to beauty. Healthy skin is essential and the beauty basics start with a
good, consistent skin care routine. Some of us are blessed by flawless skin. For most of us,
though, we need to enhance our complexion and create a luminous glow by using the right
products-for our skin type. Always Always start by moisturizing your face. I do not apply
makeup without following this cardinal rule .
5. Sunscreen — Never leave your home without sunscreen it’s the most essential beauty tip I
can pass onto you. it protects the skin from all the pollution and harmful effects of the sun .
Freckles — Freckles are fantastic! Let them show. A lot of models and actresses I work on
have freckles and I love them. They keep you looking young and fresh.
The matte look — Using powder to matte down your face is as dated as the beehive. To
control shine, use oil-control lotion, blotting papers, or sheer blotting powders. Or just
powder the T-zone area. Look clean, not cakey.
Over-lining the lips — Lip liner abuse is the biggest sin I see. Never use liner to draw on big
lips unless you’re in a stage show. And don’t use liners darker than your lipstick or gloss
shade.
Concealer gone wrong — Don’t apply concealer before the foundation; you’ll just wipe it off
when you apply foundation. And don’t use a shade much lighter than your foundation; that
highlights rather than conceals. Apply it to the problem spots later and blend away .
Finding your foundation shade — Never use the back of the wrist to test foundation
shades. Always use the chest area or the side of your face. Always try 2 to 3 shades along
side each other so that u know which will be the perfect match .
” UNDERTONES ”
Ok ladies. If there is ONE thing that I could ever teach you about beauty that will change
your life, it’s determining your skin undertones. I know it sounds trivial, but when you know
yours and then adjust your make-up colors accordingly, something magical happens and
you’ll light up a room. Here are a few of the best ways to detect yours:
1. Stand in front of a well-lit mirror in the privacy of your bathroom wearing only a pure
white towel/bath robe and wrap your hair under a white towel. Drape another white towel
over any furniture behind you because the more you are surrounded with white, the easier
it is to see what colors are hiding beneath the surface of your skin. Now what do you see?
Does your skin look blue-ish? If so, you have cool undertones. If it looks yellow-ish, you
have warm undertones, and if it’s green-ish, you have neutral undertones.
2. Hold up a piece of silver or platinum jewelry next to your skin, then a piece of yellow-gold
jewelry and determine which one looks better, regardless of your personal preference (I
love a yellow-gold necklace, but if I hold both up to my skin, silver is much more harmonious
because I have cool undertones). So if the silver/platinum looks better on you, you have cool
tones, if the yellow gold looks better, you have warm tones. If both hues look equally good
on you, you probably have neutral.
6. 3. Look at the veins on your underside of your forearm or underarm in the sunlight. If your
veins are blue or blue-purple, you have cool undertones. If your veins are yellow or olive,
you have warm undertones. If you have both blue and green veins, you are neutral.
After taking all three tests, you should have a good idea what your undertones are. Here’s
what to do with this invaluable information (with a cheat sheet)
If you have warm undertones, you look best when you wear eye shadows that are gold,
copper, bronze or any of the earth tones (orange, olive, yellow or brown) paired with a
warm peach or coral blush. When picking out your perfect red lipstick, choose an orange-
based red and when choosing your foundation, look for a yellow-based or peach-based
shade.
If you have cool undertones, you look best when you wear eye shadows that are silver, grey,
magenta, pink, white or any of the jewel tones (emerald, sapphire, garnet) paired with a
cool pink or rosy blush. When picking out your perfect red lipstick, choose a blue-based red(
wine or burgundy) and when choosing your foundation, look for a pink-based or neutral
shade.

Studdio” where Kanikka finishes her day at 6 make-ups in a given slot and no more bookings
thereon. Each client gets her own dedicated cabin to enter relax with state of art
infotainment system “change to dress for the occasion” and from there move to the central
makeup area where she feels special and pampered . This is a place where the artist wants
to give her best in terms of Makeovers and also understands that the quality of her work
can be hampered if she gets into “Mass Makeovers”.
So if its your special day, you deserve to FEEL SPECIAL LIKE A PRINCESS with all the luxurious
amenities. So book your slot before the booking close for the Day !!
If you are lucky enough to have neutral undertones, you get to wear EVERYTHING! And
black is the exception and looks good on cool, warm and neutral undertones. But of course,
rules were meant to be broken (like mixing a printed skirt with a striped top) and you can
wear whatever you’re in the mood to wear… So if you have warm undertones but your
favorite make-up line just came out with an amazing silver liquid liner that you have to have,
go for it, just know that the copper one will look better on you. But don’t break the rules
when it applies to your foundation shade; there’s nothing pretty about a yellow-based skin
tone covered with pink-based foundation
Heavy eyeliner — Using heavy liner is only okay if you’re trying to create a look for the
evening (like the cat eye), otherwise it is better to gently smudge liner only into the lash line
for a more natural effect.
7. Matching eye shadow to eye color — Get greater impact by choosing colors opposite your
eye color. The contrast brings out your eyes. Using the same shade as your eye color will
only make you look like you’re wearing too much eye shadow.
Bland blush — Using dull blush colors makes you look muddy. Instead choose bright shades
and apply them on the cheekbones with a big blush brush for a flushed effect.
Contouring — Again, unless you are in the theatre, use highlights instead. Contouring is
almost always noticeable and it is time we embrace the different shapes and lines of our
faces and focus on using makeup to enhance, not recreate.
Plucking gone wrong — We used to think that a thin arch was best, and the butchering
began. Put the tweezers down. Modern brows are groomed, natural and soft.
Do send me your queries and feedback so I can help u look even more beautiful.

hottest and the coolest shades of lip color to her lips and nail paint to her tiny nails. ” I
would sneak in to my much older cousins’ house next door and go bananas on the lipsticks
and compact powders! “. Soon Parul’s exploits with makeup were in high demand from her
classmates and friends. She set up a small dressing table and a mirror as her first studio
where she would transform her friends and relatives! This passion of making everyone more
beautiful led her into the world of professional makeup artistry!

For me, makeup has always been so much more than a way to look more beautiful,
it’s completely transforming: it effects my mood, my confidence, and the way I feel.
Ever since I picked up my first pair of tweezers I was transfixed, and by the time I
was 14 I was wearing a full face of makeup – I loved it! I started plucking my sister’s
friend’s eyebrows, doing my friend’s makeup, and I took on any opportunity I could to
get involved with beauty, from doing makeup at school plays to university fashion
shows. After university, I began sending out email blasts to my girlfriends with beauty
tips, hacks and DIYs – I was blogging and I didn’t even know it. I consider myself
beyond lucky that my love for makeup, after many long years of hard work, has
turned into a thriving business and a platform for all of us to share beauty.
How it all began: Working in beauty was not what I grew up expecting to do. I was
born and raised in the U.S. and I studied Finance at university. After moving to Dubai
and starting a job in the industry, the recession hit and I was made redundant from
my finance job. At the time, I felt a little lost, but in hindsight it was the best thing that
ever happened to me. My sister Mona, knowing me better than I knew myself,
11. encouraged me to pursue my passion for makeup. With resounding enthusiasm from
my family, and of course myself, within days I was on a plane half way across the
world to Los Angeles to study make-up at the Joe Blasco Makeup Artistry School.
Incredible opportunities led me to work with world-class makeup artists, amazing
brands, and some remarkable models and celebrities. After learning all the tricks of
the trade and garnering a wealth of experience from some of the best experts in the
industry, I decided I had to share this with other women who loved makeup the way I
did. I started my blog in 2010 to be a place for women to explore and share beauty.
Being a beauty blogger: I am so grateful for all the beauty lovers that enjoy
reading my blog, and I feel truly responsible for everything I share. Honesty is the
one policy that I promised myself I would never compromise on, so every product I
review, no matter the brand or the price tag, is 100% what I believe. This is one of
the main reasons I believe my blog has become so well read, and that, coupled with
the rise of social media has undoubtedly helped to launch it to become a globally
recognized blog. The rise of social media and my early entry to Instagram also
played a massive role, and with every new innovation, I was ready to embrace what
it offered and the viral opportunities that went hand-in-hand with them. This is the
digital age, and with every pioneering new platform lies a moment to seize.
Dreams coming true: I’ve always been a creative person (probably one reason
finance just didn’t suit me), so when my sister Mona saw me customizing and
designing my own false lashes, she convinced me we had to share them. In 2013, I
joined forces with my wonderful sisters, Mona and Alya, to launch our brand Huda
Beauty. Combining my years of experience testing products, my professional
makeup skills, and my very picky eye, I am proud that I can create products that I
believe are truly valuable for every makeup lover. Everything Huda Beauty releases
are products I use daily, and products that I invest all my time and heart into. I hope
you love them as much as I do.
I take great pride in being able to share my beauty tips and advice with you, and I
hope that everyone can learn something from this blog.
“ I understand makeup as an art of enhancing one’s features rather than just choice of colors. MY
style in Make-up artistry & Hairstyling is very modern and contemporary. When I look at a face, I
notice bare features and what I can do to enhance them and make them look prettier. Colors infact is
the fun part of it which we all love. I believe make up is best when it is not over-done.”
