10 Eyeliner hacks
you’ve got to master!
Get a grip on your eyes and lash out with these
pro-eyeliner tips to feel like a muse.

Make your eye makeup last
longer by setting your eyeliner
with a matching eye shadow.
First, line your eyes with a pencil liner,
and then lightly dust eye shadow in
the same shade on top to hold the
liner in place.

Use a pencil liner as a guide for
tricky liquid liners. If your hand
isn’t steady enough for liquid
eyeliner, line your eyes first with a
pencil liner, and then trace over it
with liquid.

Make a less pigmented eye
shadow more vibrant by
covering your eyelid with a
white eyeliner first. This will help
cancel out the color of your skin,
creating an even base for the shadow
and making the color pop.

Create your own custom
eyeliner with a wet liner brush
and eye shadow. The wet brush
will darken the pigments a bit and
create a sharp look like a liner.

If you have monolids, use a gel
or liquid liner and draw a thick
arch to create the perfect line.
If your eyelids hide your eyeliner, try
drawing an arched line above your
lash line a little thicker than you think.
When you open your eyes, you’ll have
perfect-size lines.

Use white eyeliner as a brow
highlighter for an instant eyelift.
Line below and above your
eyebrows with a thick white liner, and
smudge it out with a sponge brush to
define your brows.

Make your own gel liner by
warming the tip of a kohl liner
with a lighter. Hold the tip of the
liner right above the flame for a few
seconds, and then test the pencil on
the back of your hand before lining
your eyes.

If getting a perfect line is too
challenging, draw a rough line
first, and then sharpen it with a
cotton swab and petroleum jelly.
In this case, erasing mistakes is easier
than trying to nail it the first time.

For a really natural look, tightline
your liner by applying it in
between the lashes instead of
across the top of the lash line. The
easiest way to do this is to fill in your
top lashes from the underside. This will
make your eyelashes look fuller but
won’t leave you looking too made up.

Simplify drawing a straight
line by lining your eyes
with dots first, and then
connecting them. Make sure your dots
aren’t too big. They should be the
same size that you’d like the width of
your line to be.

Use eye shadow before putting your foundation
otherwise the eye shadow tends to stay under the eye for
the whole day and looks bad. Avoid pink base foundation
and go for beige, instead. Also be cautious of the 4 most
abused words namely,
Ayurvedic, Herbal,
Organic and Natural.
Check the ingredients list
which is printed in the
smallest font possible.
Avoid going for face
washes and shampoos
that have Sulphates
(SLES, SLS). Avoid using
creams with Paraben.
What are your favourite

second favourite is the

Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey?
I was working as an engineer in Australia that’s where
one of my Malaysian friends asked me to do her Henna.
Unfortunately her makeup artist couldn’t turn up, so I
ended up doing her bridal makeup and it went viral. That
is when I realized that this is something I am passionate
about. So I started taking formal education from the
famous makeup expert Ray Morris. I did a few Hollywood
projects and fashion shows with her. I started looking for
natural skincare solutions beyond Ayurveda.

Depuff your eyes
Tea Bags
Tea bags are a classic way to treat puffy eyes. Keep two used tea bags in the refrigerator for some time.
Place them on your eyes for 15-20 minutes to bring down puffiness.
Potato Slices
Dip two potato slices in cold water and place it over your eyes for 10 minutes.
Eye creams
Go for under eye serums, gels and creams formulated to treat puffy eyes. Acetyl Tetapeptide-5 is great to reduce puffiness.
Whole Milk
Steep two cotton pads in milk, wring them out and leave it on eyelids for 20 minutes. Amino acid in
the liquid have anti-inflammatory properties. Use whole milk for better results.
Coffee Grind
Mix coffee grinds with water and place it on your under eye area for 15 minutes to help with swelling.
Frozen veggies
Not enough time? Just grab a bag of frozen veggies and rest them on your eyes for a few minutes.
Chocolate
A chocolate mask not only helps puffy eyes, it also helps to refresh your whole face.
Cold spoon
Keep a couple of spoons in the freezer. Simply press the rounded side against your eyelid for several minutes.

Yes, this one is for real. Dubai-based Beauty
blogger Huda Kattan posted an Instagram
how-to video, which shows how to contour
using sellotape. You simply place the tape as
guidelines around the areas you want to apply
the foundation that is darker to your skin tone.
Once applied within the tape, you peel off the
tape and apply a lighter shade of highlighter or
foundation and blend. Voila, you’re contoured!

just a few swipes. 2016 is all about becoming imaginative with contouring. We bring you
a lowdown of the latest contouring trends that are going to be big this year.

looking lips without any harsh lines. And
Contouring is another word for faking a
shape with the help of makeup. Here’s
how you can boost the size and shape
of your lips without looking like a clown.
For full, matte nude lips
Also known as the Kylie Jenner Effect.
First, swipe on a layer of lip balm (above
left), then fill in your whole mouth with
a liner that matches your natural lip
color. If you’re especially fair-skinned,
try M.A.C. Lip Pencil Naked Liner, which
is a light tan with pink undertones, so
it won’t appear dark against pale skin.
For a supermatte look, dab lips with an
oil-blotting sheet to lift excess moisture
from the lip balm.
For pouty lips
This one does require a few steps and products, but the full, plump finish is worth the added minute of work. First,
choose a liner two shades darker than your lipstick and draw an ‘m’ along the top of your lip, another ‘m’ in the
center of your bottom lip, and a sideways ‘v’ on the outer corners of your mouth. Apply your lipstick then tap a
cream highlighter on your Cupid’s bow and sweep some bronzer beneath your lower lip. The shadow underneath
your lip and the brightness on your Cupid’s bow will give the illusion of fuller lips.

Now that Valentines’s Day is around the corner,
this contouring trend makes perfect sense. Here’s
how you go about Heart Contouring. Apply the
heart-shaped contouring. If you want to use less
product, you can always create the heart shapes
using dashes rather than a continuous line. And
then blend with clean fingertips. Be sure to add
more color to your eyes or cheekbones, if need
be. Blend to perfection, bumping up any color
on your eyes or lips. Regardless of whether you
choose the softer or bolder look, you’re about to
look like a bombshell this Valentine’s Day.

YouTuber Bella DeLune has developed a new way to
extreme color-correct, highlight and contour, in other words
to look as sculpted as Kim Kardashian and she calls it Clown
Contouring. In her video tutorial called “Clown Color Correct
Highlight & Contour”, the guru (her real name is Estehr
Isabel Amado Romo) shows how clown contouring can be
blended to achieve a gorgeous look. Clown Contouring is all
about strategically placing color correctors, brighteners and

and eyeliner are best suited for those with
