“Tibet today is one of the most repressed
and closed societies in the world.” Senator Robert Menendez, Chair of US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations
For more than 60 years, Tibetans have endured China’s occupation of their country.
Western leaders submit to China by accepting that illegal occupation. But Tibetans have
never submitted and never stopped believing in and struggling for their freedom. Today,
Tibetans are killed, tortured and imprisoned for their opposition to China’s rule – they
are jailed just for keeping pictures of Tibet’s flag on their mobile phones. Despite China’s
brutality, Tibetans remain committed to non-violent resistance.
To hide its oppression, China bans the international media from Tibet. China wants to
silence Tibetans and silence those who support their calls for justice.
Tibetans can only be free from oppression when they are free to determine their
own future. Their courage deserves the world’s support.
Support peace. Support justice. Support Tibet.
