IT is everywhere! And everybody us, Engineers, QA, PO/PM, Ops, SRE, ... is shaping and operating the world around us.
If you asked yourself questions like:
Wait, why am I doing this?
Is that really the most important thing to work on now?
How does it support my companies goal?
And btw. what are my companies goals (and how many)?
this talk is meant to encourage you to push for change, for focus, clear prioritization and knowing Why things are done.
This document discusses how to successfully engage employees in the workplace. It begins by quoting Jack Welch saying any successful company must engage all employees. It then outlines that only 13% of employees are currently fully engaged at work, and asks what reasons employees may not be engaged. The document proposes moving from a traditional engagement model focused on organizational alignment alone, to a new model that also considers individual alignment. It concludes by introducing the 10 behaviors of deliberate success - such as deciding on priorities, managing information flows, developing the right beliefs, and evaluating performance - that can help engage employees and achieve success.
This document summarizes a presentation on improving employee happiness and productivity using Management 3.0 principles. It introduces Management 3.0 and outlines the 12 steps to happiness backed by science, including thanking others, helping others, eating well, exercising, resting, experiencing new things, hiking, meditating, socializing, aiming for goals, smiling, and giving gifts. Examples are given of how companies have implemented these steps, such as having a kudo wall, competence matrix, fitness hours, celebration grids, and work expos. Recommended reading materials on motivation are also listed. The document concludes with contact details for the presenters and information on Management 3.0.

7 steps to coaching agile non software development teamsEduardo Nofuentes
This is the pack we used during our session at LAST Conference in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane in 2017. We outlined the 7 steps approach we use at The Agile Eleven to coach agile non-software development teams.
Margaret Stewart of Facebook thinks designing elegant tools may be the highest-impact opportunity for designers today. At Pardot (part of Salesforce), we can attest to that.
The star of our app, Engagement Studio, was borne out of a desire to go deeper into interaction and interface design. By seeking out opportunities to make our users' experience truly meaningful, we blazed a trail that defied conventions and empowered the people we serve. A simple workflow builder became a canvas for bold automation and experimentation.
In this session, we’ll look at how our user-centric design process generated innovative new ideas that invite people to be creative. You’ll see how these phases came together to make meaningful improvements on a “common" interface:
- Reframing questions and infusing research early to discover opportunities
- Balancing product compromise with design principles
- Validating inspired concepts through clear UX objectives

This webinar features content from Karen's workshop and talk at the Lean Enterprise Institute and Lean Frontiers Coaching Summit, held on July 29 & 30, 2014 in Long Beach, California.
Both the workshop and talk focus on learning how to break the "telling" habit as a leader or improvement coach, and how to use the right questions at the right time to develop people more effectively and get better work results.
The Creative Lab for Social Innovation aims to improve the quality of life for young people through social entrepreneurship and digital media. They use design thinking principles to create small-scale experiments that test solutions to social problems. Some of their experiments have included using students to discuss alcohol prevention with their peers, allowing youth with long-term illnesses to focus less on their condition, and using digital storytelling to strengthen narratives in child services. Their goal is to apply what they have learned to potentially scale solutions that address societal issues.
This document outlines a workshop on coaching. It introduces three tools for coaching: listening levels, mirroring and paraphrasing, and "what" questions. Listening levels involve being aware of where one's attention is focused. Mirroring and paraphrasing involve reflecting back what someone says to show active listening. "What" questions evoke personal exploration rather than just seeking information. The workshop demonstrates these tools and has participants practice coaching conversations. The goal is to provide a practical introduction to coaching fundamentals.
The document discusses measuring the impact of learning in Moodle. It outlines the value of measuring learning impact, including being able to prove what works, see where to target learning, create more effective learning programs, and prove ROI/effectiveness. Common objections to measuring impact like it being not scientific, too hard, or too expensive are addressed. The document provides practical tips for getting started with measuring impact, including determining where to start, getting buy-in, designing an experiment, collecting and analyzing data, communicating findings, and using findings to improve learning.

Carrer goals.pptx and their importance in real lifeartemacademy2
Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!
