Report on Mentorship Program of APrIGF 2021
Good Points:
1. Real-time experience of organizing and participating in the session was a good experience for
the fellows which needs to continue with better strategy
2. Fellows were organized but they need to be more focused on specific issue like engagement,
social media, community collaboration
3. Different Mentors used different approach and personally I got a chance to interact with GJ’s
Group(Brinda and team), we even had a meeting with their group and it was fun to have
shared communication
4. Social Media meet up was a flexible time for them to flex their ideas and thought so hugely
recommend to increase time
5. Communication was good and Christine played a crucial role in making the mentorship
program a success
Recommendation and Suggestion:
1. In the Capacity Building Program, there needs to be more participation from the fellows, few of
the times it seemed speakers and moderators were more into themselves. There main motive
should be fellows sharing and communicating
2. Participation needs to be evaluated in a more strategic way
3. Mentorship program needs to have clear guidelines and strategic approach
4. Mentorship program needs better materials and preparation resources
5. Specific awards like social media awards can boost their performances in social media so is
hugely recommended
6. Fellows roles and responsibilities before, during and after have to be clearly defined
7. Personally for me when I got a fellow from Pakistan it was easy for me work and collaborate so
I would suggest to mix the group (fellows) that way there will be an interest to learn as well as
share
8. For better engagement, the slot of introduction and experience sharing should have more time
as it helps to open up and helps fellows communicate openly
9. Social Media Strategy is hugely recommended

  • 1. Report on Mentorship Program of APrIGF 2021 Good Points: 1. Real-time experience of organizing and participating in the session was a good experience for the fellows which needs to continue with better strategy 2. Fellows were organized but they need to be more focused on specific issue like engagement, social media, community collaboration 3. Different Mentors used different approach and personally I got a chance to interact with GJ’s Group(Brinda and team), we even had a meeting with their group and it was fun to have shared communication 4. Social Media meet up was a flexible time for them to flex their ideas and thought so hugely recommend to increase time 5. Communication was good and Christine played a crucial role in making the mentorship program a success Recommendation and Suggestion: 1. In the Capacity Building Program, there needs to be more participation from the fellows, few of the times it seemed speakers and moderators were more into themselves. There main motive should be fellows sharing and communicating 2. Participation needs to be evaluated in a more strategic way 3. Mentorship program needs to have clear guidelines and strategic approach 4. Mentorship program needs better materials and preparation resources 5. Specific awards like social media awards can boost their performances in social media so is hugely recommended 6. Fellows roles and responsibilities before, during and after have to be clearly defined 7. Personally for me when I got a fellow from Pakistan it was easy for me work and collaborate so I would suggest to mix the group (fellows) that way there will be an interest to learn as well as share 8. For better engagement, the slot of introduction and experience sharing should have more time as it helps to open up and helps fellows communicate openly 9.
