The measurement of uric acid based on the optical absorption at visible light spectrum is investigated and tested. Sensing in the visible region was conducted for determination of suitable wavelength that produces high sensitivity and accuracy performance based on the Beer-Lambert law calculation. In this work, the uric acid is detected by detecting sodium urate as a product of chemical reaction between uric acid with sodium hydroxide buffer. The setup has been tested for uric acid concentration ranging from 15 mg/dL to 85 mg/dL. Three wavelengths have been analyzed which are 460 nm, 525 nm and 630 nm. Measured data at 460nm wavelength exhibits the highest sensitivity, which is 0.0012 (mg/dL)-with 86.51% accuracy. Detection of uric acid at visible light spectrum offers a low-cost sensor based on visible LEDs and photodiode is possible to be realized.
Multiple Federal and State Agencies (e.g. EPA, DOD, DEQs and DEPs) in the United States as well as international organizations (e.g. ASTM) are quickly publishing new analytical methodologies for PFAS monitoring and establishing more stringent limits. Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry-based detection is established as the most suitable technology for meeting the requirements from official methods released up to date for monitoring PFAS. A comparison of instruments’ performance was conducted in this work.
Noninvasive blood glucose monitoring system based on near-infrared method IJECEIAES
Diabetes is considered one of the life-threatening diseases in the world which need continuous monitoring to avoid the complication of diabetes. There is a need to develop a non-invasive monitoring system that avoids the risk of infection problems and pain caused by invasive monitoring techniques. This paper presents a method for developing a noninvasive technique to predict the blood glucose concentration (BCG) based on the Near-infrared (NIR) light sensor. A prototype is developed using a finger sensor based on LED of 940 nm wavelength to collect photoplethysmography (PPG) signal which is variable depending on the glucose concentration variance, a module circuit to preprocess PPG signals is realized, which includes an amplifier and analog filter circuits, an Arduino UNO is used to analog-to-digital conversion. A digital Butterworth filterer is used to remove PPG signal trends, then detect the PPG data peaks to determine the relationship between the PPG signal and (BCG) and use it as input parameters to build the calibration model based on linear regression. Experiments show that the Root Mean Squares Error (RMSE) of the prediction is between 8.264mg/dL and 13.166 mg/dL, the average of RMSE is about 10.44mg/dL with a correlation coefficient (R^2) of 0.839, it is observed that the prediction of glucose concentration is in the clinically acceptable region of the standard Clark Error Grid (CEG).

A prospective study was conducted at a critical care department and post-anesthesia care unit of a university teaching hospital in Barcelona, Spain. The study recruited 707 patients with invasive BP and finger PPG waves over a period of 26 months. Exclusion criteria were presence of major arrhythmia, immediate death condition and disturbances in the arterial or PPG curve morphology. For each patient we automatically recorded the systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and PPG curve for 30 minutes. The PPG signal was further processed to obtain a set of features that were used to construct a Deep Belief Network with Gaussian Restricted Boltzmann Machine (DBN-RBM). The available dataset was split into three subsets (Training, Validation and Testing). The training and validation datasets included 85% of data and the testing dataset included 15% of the available data. The regression error was assessed through a Bland-Altman analysis and the AAMI standard. The mean prediction error were -2.98+-19.35 mmHg for SBP, -3.38+-10.35 mmHg for MAP and 3.65+-8.69 mmHg for DBP.
The results obtained are promising for the assessment of MAP and DBP with DBN-RBM. Further research and clinical validation are needed to bring this technology to standard medical practice.

A rapid and precise reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the validated of Vortioxetine in its pure form as well as in tablet dosage form. Chromatography was carried out on ODS C18 4.6 x 250 mm, 5µm column using Acetonitrile And Methonal 70 30 as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL min, the detection was carried out at 274nm. The retention time of the Vortioxetine was 2.922 ±0.02min. The method produce linear responses in the concentration range of 20 µg ml of Vortioxetine. The reflection oxygen sensor is used to collect the pulse oximeter signal of human body, then the collected physiological signals are processed by the data processing circuit The data processing circuit is composed of two parts: the amplifying circuit and the band-pass filter circuit, and the pulse oximeter data processed by the data processing circuit is written into the tag through the SPI communication The RFID reader read the data in the RFID tag through wireless communication, and display the data . The experimental results show that the maximum error is ±1%. The maximum error of the pulse is ±1.9%. The stability and feasibility of pulse blood oxygen sensing system is demonstrated in this paper and it will have a good application prospect in the direction of wearable medical wisdom research
