As a national nonprofit organization, the Boys &
Girls Clubs of America provides a multitude of
programs benefitting young people in America.
These include runs, walks, and other events, such
as its annual “Day for Kids” in September.
3. Founded as a response to the lack of a national
day to celebrate children, as well as a way to
encourage positive relationships between children
and their families or other role models, the “Day for
Kids” invites adults and children everywhere to
spend time together. Often, a local Boys & Girls
Club will host fun activities, such as outdoor
games, contests, etc., on this date. However,
adults are still encouraged to think up creative
ways to spend the day with youngsters if there are
no events near them. To find a club near you, visit
