Creative Commons provides an alternative to traditional copyright that offers six different license options for creators to both protect their work while allowing for easy sharing and collaboration. Started in 2001 by scholars and activists led by cyberlaw expert Lawrence Lessing, Creative Commons occupies the middle ground between complete copyright protection and work being in the public domain. Links to the Creative Commons website and related copyright-friendly resources are available on the library's webpage or at www.delicious.com/spiderlibrary.
