This document provides instructions for students to create a concept map on molecular shapes including electron configuration, the octet rule, Lewis and VSEPR theory, valence bond theory and hybridization, and molecular orbitals. Students are also asked to choose a molecule with 15 atoms and at least one double or triple bond to model in 3D, showing electron density. They must explain their concept map and molecular model, providing 3 facts about the chosen molecule and describing pi and sigma bonds, hybridization, and any resonance or charge distribution.
