Scallop and Mussel plan a day trip to visit the monastic ruins and lakes of Glendalough. They take the bus there and their guide O'Connor shows them historic sites like cathedrals and round towers. Along the way they see wildlife and learn the history and legends of Ireland, such as how St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the holy trinity. After their tour, they discuss visiting the nearby city of Kilkenny to see its castle and medieval abbey before flying home to Galicia from Cork airport.

11. O´Connor shows them some monuments. What´s that? It´s a cathedral. It´s the largest and most imposing building on Glendalough.That tower over there is called “round tower”, which was built with defensive purposes .

12. They move towards Upper Lake and pass by Reefert Church, a small cemetery.

13. They are surprised There are a lot of shamrocks on the field. Do you know the story about the shamrocks? No ! The Irish have considered shamrocks as good luck symbols. It has become the national symbol of Irland, because of the legend that St. Patrick used it to illustrate the doctrine of the Trinity, the existence of the three in one.
