1) Jesus healed a man with leprosy by touching him and saying "Be clean". This event is described in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. 2) Jesus instructed Simon Peter to go out fishing in the deep waters, where they caught a huge number of fish, more than their boats could hold. This miracle is recorded in the gospel of Luke. 3) These passages recount two of Jesus' miracles: healing a man with leprosy and helping fishermen catch a massive number of fish.

Afterpreachingthe Sermononthe Mount (Matthew 5-7),Jesuscame downthe hillside followedbya
large crowd.A leperapproachedJesusandwasmiraculouslyhealedof hisskindisease asdescribedin
the bookof Luke 5:12-15.
“WhileJesuswas inone of the towns, a mancame alongwho was covered with leprosy.[a]
When he
saw Jesus,he fell with hisface to the ground andbegged him,“Lord,if you are willing,youcan make
me clean.”

Jesusreached out his handand touchedthe man. “I am willing,” hesaid.“Beclean!” And
immediatelythe leprosyleft him.

Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’ttell anyone,but go, showyourselfto the priest andoffer the
sacrificesthat Moses commandedforyour cleansing,asa testimony to them.”15
Yetthe news about
himspread all the more, so that crowdsof people came to hear himand to be healed of their

Catchinga largenumber of fish – (Luke 5:3-10)
“Then Jesus saidto Simon, “Don’t be afraid;fromnow on you will fishfor people.” –(Luke 4:37).
The Bible describesmore thanone miracle of Jesusinvolvingthe catchingof fish.Inthisincident,
describedinthe Gospel of Luke,Jesusissittinginaboat,talkingtopeople onthe shore of the Seaof
Galilee.Afterwards,he instructsPeter(alsoknownasSimon) totake the boat furtherintothe lake:
“He got into one ofthe boats,the one belongingtoSimon,and asked himto put out a little from
shore. Then he sat down andtaught the people fromthe boat.4
Whenhehad finished speaking,he
saidto Simon, “Putout into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Simonanswered,“Master, we’ve worked hard all nightand haven’t caughtanything.But because
you sayso, I will let downthe nets.”6
Whenthey haddone so, they caughtsuch a large number offish
that their nets began to break. 7
So they signaledtheir partners inthe other boatto come andhelp
them, andthey came andfilledboth boatsso full that they began to sink.

WhenSimonPeter saw this,he fell at Jesus’ knees andsaid,“Goaway fromme, Lord; I am a sinful
man!” 9
For he andall hiscompanionswere astonishedat the catch of fishthey hadtaken, 10

were James andJohn,the sonsof Zebedee, Simon’spartners.
Then Jesus saidto Simon, “Don’tbe afraid;fromnow on you will fishfor people.” (Luke 5:3-10)
