Introduction to AWS Cloud Computing | AWS Public Sector Summit 2016Amazon Web Services
Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides on-demand computing resources and services in the cloud, with pay-as-you-go pricing. This session provides an overview and describes how using AWS resources instead of your own is like purchasing electricity from a power company instead of running your own generator. Using AWS resources provides many of the same benefits as a public utility: Capacity exactly matches your need, you pay only for what you use, economies of scale result in lower costs, and the service is provided by a vendor experienced in running large-scale networks. A high-level overview of AWS’s infrastructure (such as AWS Regions and Availability Zones) and AWS services is provided as part of this session.
Interconnect with Ecosystems and Things- AWS Summit SG 2017Amazon Web Services
Today's enterprises are interdependent and cloud enabled. There are more points of engagement with more users, partners and providers across an ever-widening footprint.
This session provides an introduction to the AWS platform and services. It explains how you can get started on your cloud journey and what resources you can use build sophisticated applications with increased flexibility, scalability and reliability. The session also covers the benefits customers are enjoying by moving to AWS cloud; increased agility, faster decision making and the ability to fail fast and innovate.

The cloud market has evolved to the point where it’s no longer enough to just offer virtual machines by the hour. Developers are demanding more, and the largest clouds in the world are providing it. Users expect services like Database-as-a-Service, Cache-as-a-Service and Queue-as-a-Service. These types of services are now the new bar for cloud operators, and represent a shift from basic IaaS to IaaS+. In this talk, we will discuss the increasing pace of innovation around higher value services in the public cloud market, and how this impacts your cloud (be it public or private).
Running solutions in Amazon Web Services can help you get your applications up and running faster. By harnessing the power of the Amazon Web Services platform services you no longer have to focus on the underlying infrastructure, but instead you can focus on your application and business logic. This session will enable you to learn about the rich array of Amazon Web Services platform services available, find out how other customers are leveraging platform services and identify which services are relevant to your business. This session also includes a demonstration of Amazon Web Services for compute, database and deployment which you can use to accelerate your cloud adoption journey.

Many large enterprises have begun using AWS to host development and test environments while also building greenfield applications in AWS. After realizing the benefits that AWS has to offer, many Enterprise look for ways to accelerate their migration to the cloud. In beginning this journey they are often faced with a number of challenges such as determining which applications should move, how they should move, and how can they be effectively managed in the cloud. Accenture, working with AWS Solution Architects, and AWS Professional Services have developed a framework, based on our experiences, to quickly, efficiently, and successfully move enterprise applications to AWS at scale. This session will review our approach, tools, and methods that can help Enterprises evolve their cloud transformation programs.

The Ultimate Guide to Cloud Migration - A Whitepaper by RapidValueRapidValue
Digital transformation based on cloud-first strategy is a marathon. Any transformation journey which is disruptive and requires changing the core foundation of the organization can be very challenging. It is bound to fail unless the journey is planned with specific goals in mind, right roles and resources allocated to it, ‘as-is’ to ‘to-be state’ is mapped and implementation engine is fine-tuned.
Based on the experience of implementing numerous transformation projects for our global clients, RapidValue has formulated a BRAVE framework for cloud-first digital transformation.
Transforming to a digital business with cloud as the foundation supports a more agile, resilient and responsive business.
We introduce the fundamentals of an optimized AWS Cloud migration approach. And we’ll take a closer look at Vodafone, which by making the bold move to transition the majority of its legacy infrastructure to cloud, is pointing the way ahead for its industry.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
