Mute a conversation in Gmail and you won't see any
further messages related to it in your inbox. Any
emails added to the conversation after you mute it
will be stored in your Gmail account, you'll still be
able to search for the conversation to view new
messages. Muting is a handy way of hiding personal
communications while in the office and dismissing
conversations from friends on particular projects.

email before deleting it so I can take at least a quick glance
at it before discarding it. By default, Gmail sends you back
to your inbox instead of the next message when you delete
an opened message, which requires more clicks and time to
clean out your inbox. You can change this behavior in
settings, however, so you advance to the previous or next
message after you delete an opened message.
