2. ORGULLO NACIONAL
(NATIONAL PRIDE)
Is the positive affect that the public feels towards their country as a
result of their national identity. It is both the pride or sense of esteem
that a person has for one's nation and the pride or self- esteem that a
person derives from one's national identity.
3. THE VALUE OF “ORGULLO
NACIONAL” (NATIONAL
PRIDE)
One of the most concerning issues in our country is the loss of
national pride among Filipino children. The majority of Filipino
youngsters want to be Americans or Europeans, while only 12% want
to remain Filipinos. The educational system is one institution that
cannot be blamed for our youth's lack of feeling of national pride.
4. AMERICAN EDUCATION
The actual goal of American education in the Philippines was to establish English
as a common language, offer universal elementary education, promote democracy
via enlightened citizenry, and achieve economic sufficiency, as a result of the
Philippines' colonialism. They discovered that education, as well as shaving one's
body, was the most effective method of colonization. Religion was prohibited from
being taught in public schools.
The Americans shaped the way Filipinos thought via education, instilling in them a
foreign set of ideas that benefited the colonizers. By the time the Philippines
gained independence, the administration had been taken over by a new breed of
Filipino Americans who spoke, acted, and thought like Americans.

3. SMOOTH INTERPERSONAL
VALUES/ PARE-PARE SYSTEM
6. Faith in formal schooling - We expect our children to
graduate from school as national leaders. As he departs the
school grounds, we expect the pupils to be ready for life.
The diplomat is a sought-after sign for a prosperous
position. This diploma mindset arose as a reaction to a
dislike for hard labor. People who have been trained to work
in agriculture decline to do so in favor of an office position in
the government where he has a padrino (backer).

7. Close Family Ties - Parents save and invest their
money by sending their children to college to study
professional courses without regard for their
children's ability, capacity, or aptitude, resulting in an
increasing number of dissatisfied and discontented
graduates who serve as liabilities rather than assets
in society.
2.
8. Smooth Interpersonal Values/ Pare-Pare System
Relying primarily on close family for financial support
and employment placement. There is a strong sense

Material Technology
where knowledge is embedded into
technological products such as tools and

Knowledge-based Technology
such as technical knowledge,
management skills, and other processes
12. PROs of Technology
Democratizing access to information is undoubtedly one of the greatest advantages of
technology. Today, some 6.3 million searches are conducted per minute on Google
Quick Access to information
The ease of access to online learning lets anyone train in anything they like without leaving their home.
Moreover, according to a study conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, 90% of leaders in the
education sector say that students are more imaginative and creative thanks to technology, as well as
80% more productive.
Facilitated Learning
13. PROs of Technology
Video calls, online chats and teleconferencing have changed the way people communicate across
borders.
Breaking the distance
In recent years, automation and artificial intelligence have simplified tasks even further, making our day-
to-day life easier. Modern technology boosts productivity as well as the efficiency of human activities,
as it allows us to perform tasks in less time. Meanwhile, thanks to the huge amount of information
available, better decisions can be made, and human error reduced.
Increased productivity and efficiency
14. CONs of Technology
In recent years, many people have developed problems with technology addiction. Since
2020, the Philippines topped the World Global Index as the country that spends the most
hours per day on social media.
Addiction
Another disadvantage of technology is that its improper use can lead to dehumanisation and foster social
isolation. A joint study by the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers at the Polytechnic University of
Madrid and the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Oviedo confirms that excessive use of mobile
phones increases social isolation and psychological maladaptation, and creates social conflict.
Dehumanization
15. CONs of Technology
Technological development involves collateral damage that directly impacts the environment.
Industrialization has accelerated climate change, deforestation and the excessive consumption of raw
materials, among other things.
Pollution
The lack of online security and exposure of sensitive data is another drawback when it comes to
technology. Both companies and individuals are exposed to the dangers lurking on the Internet,
because even when defensive measures are taken, they can fall victim to theft or data hijacking,
causing major economic loss.

Equips Students for their Future Careers
Through the internet, mobile devices, and
computers, students have the chance to
acquire key skills to compete globally for in-
demand jobs.
Personalizes learning and teaching approaches
Each person has their own learning style.
Thanks to technology, teachers can customize
learning for students.

However, in the long run, they’ll cut your costs.
For instance, e-book or online modules will
drive down your cost in printing your materials.
For students, having access to mobile devices
such as laptops will help them learn anytime,
anywhere.
18. CHALLENGES
A lot of distractions for students
Using smartphones in learning is helpful.
However, students might get easily distracted
because of several social media apps. Internet
connectivity is also another concern.
Not all students have access to digital tools
Many kids, especially street children and out-of-
school youth, don’t have access to these tools.
