The number of persons who are paralyzed and therefore dependent on others due to loss of self-mobility is growing with the population. The development of the wheelchair for paralyzed users is surprisingly recent starting with the conventional manually powered wheelchairs and advancing to electrical wheelchairs. Conventional wheelchair use tends to focus exclusively on manual use which use which assumes users still able to use their hands which excludes those unable to do so. Diseases or accidents injuring the nervous system also frequently because people lose their ability to move their voluntary muscle. Because voluntary muscle is the main actuator enabling people to move their body, paralysis may cause a person not move their locomotor organ such as arm, leg and others. Paralysis may be local, global, or follow specific patterns. Most paralysis are constant, however there are other forms such as periodic paralysis (caused by genetic diseases), caused by various other factors.
Scientist Stephen W. Hawking is perhaps the most well-known victim of major paralysis – Hawking was diagnosed with incurable Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 1962, thereafter using a wheelchair to move. Many of those suffering close to or complete paralysis usually however still can control their eye movement which inspired us to develop an eye-controlled electric wheelchair.

Petroleum waste of scale, sludge and sand that maintained various level of naturally occurring radioactive materials could also contain heavy and toxic elements which cause hazardous pollution to human health and the environment so that determination of these elements in waste petroleum samples are important to refineries, industrial processes, waste disposal and transports. Thus, the present work will focus on the evaluation the concentrations of metals, heavy and toxics elements in waste petroleum samples from petroleum companies located in Egypt and Kuwait using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Techniques. 6 samples of scale, sludge and sand were collected, 3 samples from Kuwait petroleum companies and 3 samples from Egypt as well. More than 17 elements of metals, heavy elements and toxic metals of (Si, Cu, Al, S, K, Ca, Na, Mn, Fe, Zn, Pb, As, Br, Sr, Rh, Ba and Ti) were detected in the selected samples with various values. All the studied samples had high concentrations of Fe, K, Ca, S and Si rather than the other elements. The concentration of Iron in Egyptian samples was higher than in Kuwait samples whilst silicon and potassium were greater in Kuwait samples. All the other elements were almost same in Egyptian and Kuwait samples. Furthermore, the toxic element of barium was detected in Egyptian samples with high concentration but it was not detected in Kuwait samples (XRF). The two measurement methods show good agreement, No significant differences. The obtained results imply that the petroleum wastes need more monitoring in order to minimize the environmental pollution.

Vehicles play a major role in this globalization era and their increasing use in everyday life comes with greater risks for accidents. On the other hand, people are not really aware of the necessity for safe driving, as evident in the number of people breaking traffic regulation. This research is aimed at building a system of vehicle velocity and acceleration monitoring using an accelerometer with ADXL345protocol and Raspberry Pi minimum system. The program in Raspberry Pi is written using Python. Programming is initialized with SMB (system management bus) function, followed by setting for data transfer velocity and command program to read the accelerometer, as well as a command to display data output. For validation purposes, output from the accelerometer sensor system is compared to that of accelerometer sensor embedded in cellular telephone using accelerometer analyzer software. Sensor readings are kept in files of text format.

• Designed a Bio Inspired Transfemoral Prosthesis System for the amputes based on Artificial Neural Networks implemented on MATLAB.
• Designed a prototype of a Prosthetic limb and trained the same using Artificial neural networks to replicate the working of the biological Limb.
• An algorithm based on discrete wavelet transforms and was developed to train the neurons in order to respond to the stimuli extracted from the amputated limb using the myoelectric signal (MES) extracted using piezo electric sensors
• Matlab was used to implement the 3 layer Neural network and the Neural network was trained using the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) Algorithm for classification of the signals.
• The classified signal was then transmitted to a Micro controller to control the movement of the limb, servo motors were used to control the positioning of the limb to great accuracy.
• The design was implemented minimizing the weight to a great extent with great amount of flexibility and control.
• Its main application is for the amputes to live a natural life.

The University of Leeds Driving Simulator (UoLDS) continues to be one of the most technically advanced driving simulators in use within a research environment in the world today, exploiting leading-edge motion base technology to create
a high fidelity and dynamic simulated driving environment.
The simulator is developed and managed by a multidisciplinary group of academics from the Safety and Technology group at The Institute for Transport Studies. Using funding from UK and European government grants and private organisations, the group studies the interaction of drivers with new technologies, typically before they are fully implemented on roads and in the vehicle.
The team has over 20 years’ experience developing cutting-edge, innovative
scenarios suited to the needs of its funders. Realistic and repeatable scenarios allow studies on driver behaviour to be conducted in a safe and controllable environment,
substantially reducing the costs associated with the development of real systems, infrastructures or prototypes.
Results from studies conducted on UoLDS have had substantial influence on National and International policy.
For example, research on the simulator
has shaped the understanding of how driver distraction affects road safety, providing guidelines for the implementation of speed advisory systems.
