Linking Water, Sanitation and Agricultural Sectors for Enhanced Nutrition

Linking Water, Sanitation and Agricultural Sectors for Enhanced Nutrition
This document summarizes the work of the SIANI Expert Group on strengthening collaboration between the WASH, food, and nutrition sectors. The group aims to find 10 case studies of cross-sectoral projects from low-income countries and provide guidance on linking these sectors to build community resilience. Several challenges to cross-sectoral work were identified, including lack of coordination and standards, as well as staff capacity issues. However, factors like local engagement, research support, and understanding local contexts can facilitate early collaboration. The group will produce an infographic and hold a workshop to share lessons learned on addressing complex issues through cross-sectoral approaches.

TOSSD 2020 Data - Key Figures

Summary DSI OECD seminar on triangular co-operation
The two-day seminar in Pretoria, South Africa discussed experiences and opportunities for triangular cooperation among South Africa, Development Assistance Committee (DAC) members, and partner countries in Southern Africa to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda and SDGs. Key areas discussed included: 1) Increasing African partner participation and ensuring open partnerships; 2) Identifying priority areas for trilateral cooperation like science, innovation, climate change; and 3) Learning from different approaches and developing guidelines like those proposed by Canada to support effective triangular cooperation. Representatives from government agencies, civil society, private sector, and philanthropy attended to explore expanding existing partnerships and launching new trilateral initiatives in the region.
