End Resource Management Smackdowns: How To Make Allocating a Breezejzapin
Digital Project Managers are masters of getting things done without doing “anything:” They take talented resources, enable them to work together so seamlessly that the sum is much greater than the parts.
That said, figuring out who is doing what and when is one the supreme challenges of an agency. Resource conflicts are inevitable and, often, chaotic.
During this session, we will explore the problem provide some tangible solutions by looking at the people, processes and tools that need to be leveraged to get this done.
How to repeatably release a fully functional piece of software to the end users within two weeks? Everyone nowadays knows we should go with the Agile approach. However, how to convince the executives that all IT projects can be still predictable on schedule and manageable on risks? The author shares the insights on one of the best practices to convert not only one team on one project, but the whole organization on all projects so that an enterprise can achieve high agility in responding to both internal and external demands. This approach is called SCRUM+WBS combo Agile approach.
Using Agile Principles to Deliver Real Business Value at ScaleEnterprise Knowledge
Delivering real business value from systems development efforts, even using agile approaches, turns out to be a formidable challenge especially in larger enterprises. Case studies of failed deliveries abound and too often reach general public notoriety. This talk shows organic paths to close gaps between business goals and actual systems development efforts by applying focused methods and processes already implicit in agile approaches. We will discuss use of scrums capable of sprint-speed definition of business objectives and value drivers and how to incorporate scrum and other agile techniques to the management of multiple team efforts in larger enterprises. Management tools and methods discussed include scrum team member selection for higher performance in targeted production. This presentation shows a simple and flexible approach to managing large enterprise systems development challenges successfully with key metrics and drivers defined via agile teams
The COVID 19 global pandemic has been a compelling event for many enterprises to rethink their strategies around connected customer experiences. This paradigm shift of digital-first can be very challenging for organizations with legacy processes and apps. There is a critical need for expedited delivery and strategic disruption within an enterprise for successful and sustainable business transformation.
In this session, I share two phenomenal case studies that showcase how teams disrupted organizational culture and existing processes in a non-traditional way to achieve their business outcomes. Through these stories, I highlight how important it is to rethink and reimagine the way we approach problems and develop solutions, and also have fun while we are achieving our business outcomes.

Presentation from First Conference http://www.1stconf.com/
Targeted at Agile"beginners" this talk presented a lightweight set of guidelines for planning and executing an agile transformation.
The guidelines were illustrated with a case study from a recent agile adoption program, and highlighted the process, what worked well, what didn't work at all, and how to recover from set backs.
The presentation covered analysing the problem, change models, how to get started, useful metrics, and tips for stakeholder management.
The case study focussed on presenting real situations, with complex problems.
Common Anti-patterns that Impede a Successful Digital TransformationGautham Pallapa
Lean, Agile, and DevOps are being used as tools to drive digital transformations across companies. The focus is heavily on technology, and less on people and processes, as the silver bullet to realizing their outcomes. This results in some anti-patterns that impede success of a digital transformation.
In this session hosted by GitHub and Object Partners, I talk about the common transformational anti-patterns, and share approaches, experiments, and tips that could help.
BA and Beyond 20 - Jan de Vries - What can Antifragility do for business anal...BA and Beyond
This presentation/workshop is about mapping the consequences of antifragility for the profession of the modern business analyst. An antifragile system or organisation has the ability to become stronger as a result of unexpected events, malfunctions and errors. In other words, 'what does not kill you, makes you stronger'. But most organisations and systems are designed to deal exclusively with known risks. And process designers and IT departments have invested heavily in preventing errors. What would happen if you designed a system while assuming that all components can and will fail. And additionally generate random failures to test the resilience of the system. The Chaos Monkey, designed by Netflix, is one of the best - technical - examples in this field.
What does this approach mean for business analysis, for the 6 BABOK areas and especially for Strategy Analysis and Solution Evaluation? After all, how antifragile should an organisation become? To what extent is an organisation prepared to invest in this? And what is technically possible at all?

A Super Solution Integrator Drives Business Outcomes by Orchestrating TechnologyInsight
Today, agility through digital transformation is a business imperative — but many organizations struggle to succeed. In this SlideShare, we’ll cover some of the core concepts explored in our free whitepaper, “A Super Solution Integrator Drives Business Outcomes by Orchestrating Technology” and walk through the digital transformation story — from the ideal scenario to the common reality.
Digital transformation requires complex systems integration with modern IT solutions. Most organizations don’t have the skills or transformation experience in-house to manage a large-scale IT initiative. Alternatively, organizations will turn to outside partners for help — but managing multiple vendors across a fragmented IT environment creates its own set of challenges; integration problems, an expanding security footprint and no centralized strategy over the full project scope.
Partnering with a super solution integrator can be the difference between success and failure by helping you overcome IT transformation challenges with a robust digital transformation strategy and experience.
But what is a ‘super solution integrator’?
In this SlideShare, you’ll learn why traditional systems integrators are evolving into a Super Solution Integrator (SSI) — and how this end-to-end partner is driving meaningful business outcomes.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Project Productivity
We’ve all had those experiences where we work for hours on a
project and can’t seem to get anything done. It’s often difficult
to maintain communication with team members, especially as
our colleagues become more globally dispersed. We struggle
to stay on schedule, and end up spending more money than
we initially anticipated. As a result, organizations are search-
ing for ways to make project management more efficient. We
asked industry expert, Joe Larscheid, for some helpful tips to
improve productivity among digital workers.

“Project productivity is about streamlining the project process
and removing impediments to communication and progress to achieve
successful project outcomes in shorter timeframes.”
Did you knowthat about 68 percent of projects face challenges or
fail, over 80 percent have schedule overruns and over 40 percent have cost
overruns? These alarming statistics should give pause to every organization
that strives to be more productive.

1. Change your mindset
Rather than accepting the idea that projects will cause a lot of stress and un-
necessarily deplete resources, organizations should be open to the idea of
managing projects more efficiently.
2. Adopt project management software
Successful project management solutions save organizations time and money
and increase worker productivity.
3. Stay up to date with the best solutions
Larscheid recommends solutions that allow organizations to manage projects
across mobile platforms and communicate in real-time. Microsoft Project On-
line is a powerful tool delivered through Office 365 that can get the job done.

Rather than lament the money and time wasted on failed project
management, make the right changes. Gone are the days of reluctantly
accepting the annoyance of stalled or stymied projects. The digital
workplace has given rise to project management solutions that make
team members more productive. If organizations keep up with the
latest solutions, they will save significant resources, and complete
more projects in a shorter timespan.
