Caterpillar using LEGO blocks
We want to create this product because
we search robot object that uses Lego by
using Internet. Then that robot car
appeared. We thought that object is
interesting so we select this product.
We first time to see the product that
have many wheels.
1st Product Prototype using Tinkercad
To create prototype with Tinkercad.
The original photo was complex so we
had to do deep observation.
We would create caterpillar so we
should to understand with assembly of
caterpillar and system of caterpillar.
2nd Product Prototype using 123D Design.
"123D Design" the same way as
Tinckercad, can be used to create a
prototype using 3D graphics.
Tinckercad is cloud-based. So, it can
be used only in the browser. However,
"123D Design" can be downloaded
from the internet. Therefore, it can be
used in local area.
3rd Product Prototype using 123D Make.
This software take in 123D Design model.
And setting the option for create new model.
Set to 10 the division number. Next, set the
size of model. Finally, To show the developed
parts. You can create this object in real life
based on this developed parts.

We uses rubber to tire material, and control
unit and motor was used the material of
iron.
2nd Constructions
This caterpillar has many joints that it is
possible to move smoothly.
2nd Functions
This product can be moved by remote
control.
2nd Appearance
Appearance is like a small worm. So, It may
enter a location that can not pass through
narrow gaps or humans.
2nd Social Environmental Factors
This can enter the place where the person
can not passes. Therefore, we By
mounting the camera to the caterpillar, we
through the camera locations that can not
be seen normally, can be seen.

• Motor × 8 parts
• Gear × 4 parts
• Plate for control unit × 1 parts
• Control unit × 1 parts
• LEGO brock for caterpillar to connect caterpillar × 6 parts
Process Graphics 1: Prototyping of
caterpillar
First, we create tire. For to put bar after,
we put the projections in the tire.
Process Graphics 2: Prototyping of
caterpillar
Next, we create motors and
gears.
Because the work space was
narrow, the number of
motors is now eight.
Process Graphics 3: Prototyping of
caterpillar
Next, we create "control
unit" to move motors on
the plate. Plate is put on
the motors.
Process Graphics 4: Prototyping of
caterpillar
Finally, we put the bar to join the tire
and tire. These bar has been created
actually in LEGO block.
Identify three important problems you faced during the
construction of the product prototypes using 123D Design
and Make software.
・ First problem is that download version "123D Design" force-quit frequently. If
you use 123D Design in low specs PC, it will force-quit frequently.
・ Second problem is that We can not be edited in their own design that is
present from the beginning to the "123D Design".
・ When we were applying the design was made with “123D Design” in “123D
Maker”, it may not be reliably reflect.
How did the group members collaborate
during the planning, analysis, design and
execution stages?
• Planning
Planning did everyone. When we gathered in English lecture, decided what we make something.
• Analysis
Fukabe was the main analysis. After he has finished to analyse it, shared to it team member.
• Design
Endo made it with "Tinkercad" , Fukube made it with "123D Design" and Segawa made it with
"123D Make". They made rapidly it.
• Execution
Hanyu was he main “execution” . He summarized in one data of work everyone has created.
CONCLUSION
When we create a construction with LEGO,
must be made sure roles "who what to do".
And, Person who was given the job should end
it quickly.

  • 2. Caterpillar using LEGO blocks We want to create this product because we search robot object that uses Lego by using Internet. Then that robot car appeared. We thought that object is interesting so we select this product. We first time to see the product that have many wheels.
  • 3. 1st Product Prototype using Tinkercad To create prototype with Tinkercad. The original photo was complex so we had to do deep observation. We would create caterpillar so we should to understand with assembly of caterpillar and system of caterpillar.
  • 4. 2nd Product Prototype using 123D Design. "123D Design" the same way as Tinckercad, can be used to create a prototype using 3D graphics. Tinckercad is cloud-based. So, it can be used only in the browser. However, "123D Design" can be downloaded from the internet. Therefore, it can be used in local area.
  • 5. 3rd Product Prototype using 123D Make. This software take in 123D Design model. And setting the option for create new model. Set to 10 the division number. Next, set the size of model. Finally, To show the developed parts. You can create this object in real life based on this developed parts.
  • 11. 2nd Materials We uses rubber to tire material, and control unit and motor was used the material of iron.
  • 12. 2nd Constructions This caterpillar has many joints that it is possible to move smoothly.
  • 13. 2nd Functions This product can be moved by remote control.
